  • i hate wen people say dream t are better musicians than rush,,rush can do things in a magical mannor that includes being able to play odd time and play technical and make it sound so rich and melodic..where if rush wanted to they could be much more complex but they pick there spots for that type of playing wich souns so extrodinary.i listen to dream theatere and i get bored very quickly.rushs material is such the definition of perfection dream theatere bore me so much thats insulting my

  • Top top top ....Thanks !!!

  • Damn, these guys are just friggin amazing.

  • Where's Pye Hastings?

  • hello? i was just on the last of metallicas good tours, and justice for all and a fan said it sucks how bands get shity.. of course i had to speak up and say RUSH maybe the only ones but they will NEVER let us down!

  • Tell you what I think;....Dreamtheater will never be as good as Rush and the guy who says they make a lot of mistakes these days is nuts.I've seen Rush 17 times and they're playing as good as they ever have....True;.....Geddys voice is deeper but he's still one of the greatest singing bass players ever...The only other one I can think of in his class would be the late Phil Lynott of Thin lizzy. The 2 shows I saw on their recent tour were even stronger than the previous tour.Rush Rules!!

  • somebody told Dream theater is a better band than rush...tell me what you think?

  • @linearrecords12 Total load of BS, Also I'd like to say is Geddy flat or is it the mic cause the mic SUCKS.

  • @finandquinn His vocals you mean? They do sound flat at times. He's not a great singer anymore. He hasnt been for a pretty long time now. In the late 80s his voice really started to die on him from years of extreme abuse, and age of course.

  • @trenken And smoking DuMauriers

  • @linearrecords12 Better musicians, no doubt about that. They do stuff far more complex than Rush ever did, but the result of that is technical, lifeless music. Some of their older stuff is really great, but they got away from that doing more 80s style thrash metal shit.

Rush are just better song writers, which to me is more important than technical ability, so I would easily say Rush is the better band. They arent the best musicians ever, but they are still

    very good.

  • Rush has Gone Steampunk!!! ^_^

  • @VonValen This is not steampunk music. They are going for more of the steampunk visual style, but this is standard issue hard rock. Nothing even remotely punk about it.

  • going to see this tomorrow night, i am almost certain that it will be the best show i ever see. Rush are the best.

  • It was an awesome show! Geddy's bday...

  • 1 person got ran over by a caravan

  • RUUUUUSH WE LOVEEE YOUUUU

  • I love Geddy's New Jazz custom looks bad ass

  • in a world lit by flickering torchlight...

  • tender is the age that i would treat dese guise. kid gloves et al. their tender age and a wind wild shaggy leaves whirlwind nice chord progression did you know the elephant butte has a turtleback? hot mineral springs. yet at that tender age...

  • I love the live version of this song better than the studio ! As for their 80's stuff Ged's high notes are beginning to leave him sadly, Its been thirty something years though so its not a shock to me, but instrumentally, my god these guys blow so many bands out of the water YAY FOR RUSH!

  • Impresionante vídeo...Saludos!!!!

  • neil ass face

  • Scheiße!!! Kot Band!

  • awesome band

  • ekstra kawałek,super grupa :) dodam sobie do swoich ulubionych kawałków:)pozdrawiam

  • Thanks M.Did you record this?Nice quality taping. So cool that people like yourself give others the opportunity to see things we might never see.

I'l try to get down the front next year in London though.

    Thanks dude,you love this band.

  • Not bad for a bunch of near 60 year old's. What will the "Music industry" become after their time has finally passed? I shudder to think.

  • @stevedrums It's already become that and has for at least 7 to 8 years. Rush is not mainstream. No trends follow them. They're an established act. They've made contributions to music/musicianship....Neil Peart one of the greatest drummers of all time and their contribution to Progressive music and still inspire people to create music....but their earlier work is where the inspiration will be drawn from MUCH more than the newer material. They've made their mark.

  • @Mjbabycakes7072 Disagree, they are much better musicians now . The material now is so much more advanced, it will be appreciated for it's greatness later on. Neil is the greatest rock drummer so far, Geddy is one of the best bassists, and Alex one of the most inventive guitarists of our time. Their mark is still being made.

  • @nodrush You think they are better musicians now than they used to be? You're insane. Neil makes mistakes constantly now, he rarely did in the past. Geddy's tendons in his plucking hand are all fucked up so he usually only plucks with one finger which limits the complex runs he can do so he resorted to the flamenco style. Alex also has very regular mistakes now, maybe due to the psoriasis in his hands which he talks about a lot. You're nuts if you think they are as good as they were.

  • @trenken Sorry, they are better now then they were, playing the old songs isn't even a challenge for them now.

Followed them since 74, they say they have never been better....... I'm not insane enough to disagree with them.

The mistakes they make( very few) are from the insane amount of touring they do combined with their age. They have said themselves that they improvise more now than they ever have, I love it. You must be really hard to please, there isn't a better, more talented band going.

  • @trenken "Only one finger"? Geddy uses both fingers. Watch YYZ from the 2008 live video and watch him during the solos and the main riff. That's a good showcase of his double finger work.

Geddy prefers one finger or the flamenco plucking, but there are many riffs he play with two fingers. He sure can use both, but sometimes its not necessary so there you have a one finger plucking.

  • @trenken if you're comparing their musicianship to the limits of their fingers you've missed the entire point of music -- Rush rocks because of the personality of the band and they are better than ever!

  • @stevedrums sadly the music world will be populated with rap and hiphop- o wait- it already has

  • thumbs up if your favorite rush member is neil peart!!

  • I want them to release the album now!!

  • After watching them in Rio I couldn't stop thinking big...so I got a ticket to Santiago to catch this freaking awesome concert again! RUSH!!

  • @Satonica FYI Rush's nicknames for each other are Dirk, Pratt, and Lerxst (not Lurch).

  • ooh my god, i'm going to see this on friday!!!

  • Another year without a RRHOF nomination... Sad. :-(

  • @mrob125 Yeah it sucks but Rush is just too awesome for the RRHOF!

  • @mrob125 - No, what's sad is the "rock and roll hall of fame" which is anything but. It's pathetic crap and driven by money and payola. Groups "getting in" are planned in conjunction with record companies to repackage and resell old records to make money. It has nothing to do with quality of music, influence, creativity or anything that matters.

The "hall of fame" needs Rush more than Rush need induction. I say fuck 'em.

  • One of the greatest instrumental breakdowns ever.

  • Man I loved this performance. When the flames shot up I was was so close it burned my face, wonder what it did to the bands behinds? It was one of the greatest events of my life attending this concert. Thank you K. & K. for showing me the time of my life. To watch Neil,Ged AND Lurch LIVE?? What?? ARE you kidding me??

  • New Geddy Lee custom

  • For everyone that perceives that Neil "goofed" up or made a slight mistake, it is so easy to find the one fault, when there were so many moments (like the entire show) when he was right on que. Personally, I think that RUSH gets better with age, much like a fine wine, rather than being washed up like some who try to keep their act together.

  • Amen my brother. About Neil, most often a slipup at this juncture is related to not hearing the others due to a ear monitor misfunction, etc.

  • @dannyg120 You can read Neil's blog on his website where he mentions a double ear infection and had problems hearing.

  • Exactly.

  • @mikellington It's also a new and very challenging song in general

  • @mikellington It's funny you say that because both I and my father are both massive (and I mean massive) Rush and KISS fans, and we've always noted that when you hear Gene make a mistake (though this fails to subtract from their greatness), as a listener you laugh it off and give him the benefit of the doubt, whereas when you hear Rush make a mistake, you laugh it off to, but you're shocked and wonder if either Geddy, Alex or Neil, depending on who made the mistake, is okay.

  • @mikellington He's been getting pretty sloppy over time. He used to be pinpoint perfect. You can often find mistakes now. If you think they are as good as they were during the moving pictures tour you're insane.

  • @trenken you try playing a full 2 hour set at 60 years old and sound as good as does

  • Comment removed

  • What was missed at 3:33?

  • @dannyg120 Your mind.

  • 1:45 - 1:54 Neil Peart Messed up!

  • @hatmangarchump Who Cares...

  • @hatmangarchump I didnt notice anything wrong, but if Neil Peart did mess up, it was intentional cuz he was probably bored and wanted to know what it felt like to mess up. LOL!

  • COOL PROPS! Great job on the sound and Vid.

  • my god these guys show no signs of slowing down . at their age and after such a long musical career one would forgive them for beginning to let go .......but no ...these guys are Rush ...and instead they just keep getting better .....the instrumental break in this song is the proof . cant wait to see them live again ............they are gods .

  • neil messed up. he never messes up -.-

  • @VenumosFate Not true, he's commented on that in several of his books. He's such a perfectionist that he fusses over every misstep, even if we don't notice them ourselves. That's why they're so good, they're never content to just coast.

  • @VenumosFate when /

  • no sings of slowing down for this band ...just amazing.

  • hahaha I love Geddy's shirt!! And his mind-blowing polyatomic basslines.

  • Rush always has the coolest stage settings!

Looking forward to seeing this one up close when they come to Houston in a couple of weeks!

  • The instrumental break in the song is amazing. I love Geddy's base line and the drum part where Neil is just playing the toms. Awesome song.

  • Is it louder at the concert itself?

  • I'm only 23, but all my favorite bands are from the 60's and 70's, so I never get to see any of them in concert playing in their prime, but Rush is the exception. They still got it, and then some! Saw them in Columbus and it ruled! I also saw them on their Snakes and Arrows tour, but this tour was even better! The guys only get better. This was also the first time I'd heard this song, and this now makes me very excited for the album.

    Go Rush!

  • @jethrotav If you dig Frank Zappa, or if you might, check out the Zappa Plays Zappa tour. Literally the finest musicianship and best sound I have ever heard! Touring now... (BTW, my first major concert ever was Rush @ Madison Square Garden for Moving Pictures. I was 12.)

  • woah, Rush went steampunk on me

  • @steppehunter , They have been around more than 30yrs..... try 41 years.

  • just saw this show in Columbus-awesome. Jack Secret took us on stage before the show- VERY cool

  • thumbs up if u watched this to see neil peart!!!!

  • @jackthedrummer96 Neil is incredible, but he isn't the reason I attend Rush shows. He is 1/3rd of the reason

  • @TOSportsFan1990 amen brother.

  • @TOSportsFan1990 amen bro. It still amazes m that they are only a three man band everytime I listen to one of their songs.

  • @jackthedrummer96 theres only three....i have liked rush for some time now and have always thoughts there was four....amazing

  • @jackthedrummer96 ged and alex just asmuch

  • Man Clockwork Angels is going to be epic.

  • Reason I like Rush? Pure Progression! Count the time & rhythm changes. Tell me how many you hear? This song is one of those that gain new meaning each time you hear it. And I am digg'n all the new, bright, young Rush fans. This is the place to be....enjoy the ride! :D

  • The best band ever my mate got me into the lads 21 years ago we've seen them 3 times in the uk cant wait for this tour to come to the uk. hopefully they'l play liverpool now we got the arena..pure quality lads

  • MARTHA QUINN..MARK GOODMAN..ALAN HUNTER..NINA BLACKWOOD..80son8@siriusxm.com........

  • @TheSKCProductions so true :)

  • Hehe, I think it was the first I saw Neil making a few little mistakes. :)

  • RUSH are te best band ever...

    wait!

    I forgot Tool

    ;)

  • WONDERFUL!!!!!

  • MARTHA QUINN..ALAN HUNTER..MARK GOODMAN...NINA BLACKWOOD....RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!! 1981...

  • 3:49 sounds insanely close to the les claypool bass cover of master of puppets

  • Looks like Alex has lost some weight, good for him. I don't think I've heard this song before, ehat album is this one... S&A?

  • @ViciousAlienKlown This is a song that was released last june, along with another song called BU2B (stands for Brought Up To Beleive), which will be on Rush's next album called "Clockwork Angels" due out next year. There playing the two new songs throughout this tour

  • Sausage time! Don't miss the sausages coming out of the rig behind Geddy.

  • 3:18 sounds like earthshine main riff

  • @FenderUsa never noticed that! nice catch

  • /watch?v=aTN0VW86jyA

    nice new futuristic dryers

  • Had the honor of sitting 15 feet from Geddys corner last night in Wichita, KS

So close that I kept feeling the heat generated by the equipment and smelling the electronics. Every time Neils drum guy would cover himself with a fire blanket, you knew what about to happen: BOOM! PYRO!

You're lucky you managed to pull this off Mrlkswok, they were busting people constantly for video.

  • i feel so honored to get to say i've seen them on this tour, long live RUSH

  • Iam so happy, i am waiting them here in Argentina!!!!

  • RUSH IZ FREEEKIN COOOOL! sh!t yea

  • Rush always manage to make all the songs on there album good thats way there my fav band

  • Happy Night in Vegas, Rush 2010.

  • Jesus, that bass tone.

  • If they ever come out with a Time Machine Tour video they could just use this one for Caravan. Great quality I felt like I was there. Can't wait til September in Dallas!!!

  • CALL LOCAL ROCK RADIO FM STATIONS REQUEST Rush Song CARAVAN!

  • dude - great quality bootleg vid

  • i think Alex flubs a note in the riff at 1:34. its fun to point out their mistakes cause they never make any.

  • I always thought that too. Rush is so meticulous when it comes to their music that you can tell when one of them hits a clinker. When I saw them in Saratoga Springs, NY in July, mid-way through "The Camera Eye", Neil stopped using his primary snare drum and completed the song on his small piccillo (spelling?) snare over on the left-hand side of his kit. At the end of the song, a roady emerged from the darkness behind Neil's kit with a different snare. Neil had broken the 1st snare's head!

  • Thank you God! See you in a couple of days boys.

  • pushing Music to the next level :)

  • They get better and better with age, much respect for these men...

  • freakin amazing but I still believe that if it was a real Time Machine tour Neil should've brought back the second bass drum

  • @ak47dragunov Second bass drum would be retro cool. But when he changed his drumming approach under the great Freddy Grubber, he moved everything around and retaught himself. Being a drummer, I know how important it is to pick a setup and go with it. Double pedals are so much better than having to tune and carry two bass drums. Saw them last night in SF. WOW!!! Moving "Pitchers" the whole damn album!

  • @ak47dragunov he uses a double bass pedal instead.

  • I thought people are supposed to mellow as they grow older! Keep it up boyz!

  • Lerxst should sing more often!

  • Esses caras são demais!

Aguardo ansiosamente seu show em São Paulo/Brasil, dia 08/10!!!

  • espectacular

  • in che disco è questa canzone??

  • Geddy Lee, marry me.

  • goose bumps. this has been my very normal response since 1982 when Signals came out. and I'm a grown man.... shit-hot...

  • I love Caravan and BU2B, they get me very excited for Clockwork Angels. I'm also excited to hear the epic off Clockwork Angels!

  • Another great post. Thanks again.Gave up on concerts about 10 years ago, but Rush is worth seeing at least one more time before it's too late.

  • Hard bone-rumbling bass, screaming guitar licks, classic masterful drumming by one of the greatest drummers in the world = some of the best hard rocking Rush tunes in years. "Caravan" and "Brought Up To Believe (BU2B)" make me think the guys have been looking through their album archives recently and recalled some of their genius-inspired, harder, licks of '70s and '80s.

Rush can still tear it up!

  • Kokopelli Caravans from the white sands to the truth or consequences to the large array the riveredge mineral springs on the rio grande Bubba! Isleta Hard Rock! and a hard place. I can't stop stinking Batcave! Carlsbad by night, Roswell! Roswell!

  • will you kindly shut the fuck up

  • hahaha holy shit look at alex's hefner and hughes! theyre time machines i think >.<

  • Jesus Christ just listen to that instrumental break. Rush is fucking amazing. Best band ever.

  • @BDizDaBest u bet !!!

  • @BDizDaBest

I paid closer attention and listened to that break you referred to, and wow...just... WOW!

  • @BDizDaBest what instrument broke?

  • @Drummerwithagroove It's just another way of saying "instrumental section," I was just talking about the bridge in the middle where they jam...

  • Other than "Caravan" and "Closer To The Heart", there are scant few Rush songs which contain one-line choruses. That's been one of Neil Peart's strong points as a lyricist, never relying on "chant" choruses which are repetitive and boring.

  • Boy can the Old Man lay down the chops!!!!!

  • These guys are awesome. 'Nuff said

  • Comment removed

  • Has anybody noticed that the drum fills used between 3:40 and 3:50 are the EXACT same drum fills, in the EXACT same order as used in the guitar solo in 'We Hold On' from S&A?

  • @Tonyr0206 And at 3:16 the guitar riff sound like Earhtshine from Vapor Trails album lol

  • @satamique You're right! Haven't noticed it before you said it. LOL

  • 17 de oct in chile,.,. please a dram come true

  • @ricochetlaugh adonde aprendiste ingles? parece que vienen los vi en usa,,uffff

  • @cristobaldominguez

    ai dount nou, mada foco

  • 2:59 Ladies and gentlemen, the best bassist evar Geddy Lee!!

  • @ipvideogames hell ya geddy's fricken awsome. a buddy took me to the show at the white river amphitheater in seattle WA. just a couple weeks ago an "holy shit"!

I thought rush was kool but now i know their way better then i had imagined

  • Call LOCAL ROCK RADIO STATIONS AND REQUEST "Caravan"!

  • wtf, is Alex useing H&K amps again!?....looks like!

  • No one rocks like this, they put all other groups to shame!

  • Better than the CD! Obviously Rush never dissapoints. Hey losthero129, watch the lingo, ur only 13... :P

  • WHAT WAS IT LIKE???

    :D

    Was there a drum solo?

  • Best looking kit Neil has had since the R-30 tour.

  • love this song and neils uphill fill @ 3:33 kills!! good audio and video, some of the best i seen on here, thank you!

  • cant wait to see them live on the 19th

  • @samjacksonswig - Thanks for the info! In Feb 1977, (I think), Rush was the back-up band for Ted Nugent which I saw in Oklahoma City at the fairgrounds arena. I was totally blown away by the young members of RUSH. They have been my favorite group ever since and also provided many great live performances. I feel lucky I have survived to the age of Youtube where I can now relive many of the early shows I attended! Even better, my favorite band is still touring and making new music. Awesome!!!
