  • What does this video have to do with spirituality? She never expresses any belief in voodoo or other nonsense, she simply expresses how he felt in a scientific way.

Also, am I the only one that think that the spiritual people here sounds like cult members? (Oh, we have 5 thingy-majingys in us but they aren't physical so that's why no one can prove or disprove them. We also have this panama-thingy and if that leaves us we die.) We're not closed minded, you are!

  • @blasbeb The video shows that all of us are wired for the universal connection like she experienced. Regarding your comment about spirituality; you can only understand it if you experience it yourself. My thinking was exactly like yours but when at the age of 56 I experienced this other connection, then only I could experience and believe in it. May be your time will come, for now just be open and wait for your experience.

  • @blasbeb Why are you here looking at a spiritual video? Is it just because you want to flame people? It must make you feel great to belittle people who have hope in an afterlife and make them feel a little smaller. What a great person you are.

  • "Art is the funnel through which Spirit is poured into life" Thomas Mann wrote this and it is well known now that the right hemisphere of our brain allows us to be creative. I believe this connects us to God. How effective would any religion be that does not include music, art or stories?

  • Taking drugs, mediation, stoke all have the same effect of losing your individual identity. It is then only you can experience that we all are connected as one. In teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda, his first experiences were through Peoti and Dhatura, and then the second experience was through meditation. To call others stupid makes me pity you as you are so ignorant.

  • These people are so stupid. They interpret this experience as "spiritual" but it's just like taking drugs. The mind is simply unstable. I don't know why you guys gobble this up...

  • She's an awaken scientist, good for her, good for us, good for the world, amazing insights and discoveries, sense of humour and knowledge , a combination of scientific knowledge and spiritual awakening

  • Wow is really funny how people debate even for the most redundant topics. The fact is that no one clearly knows what is beyond death. And not because something is not physical means that doesn't exist. Consciousness is not physical, love is not physical and SOFTWARE is not physical but i'm sure that we all know that the last one is very real.

  • My clients with dementia and autism are similar, they do not have something, but have more of something. They have increased sensitivity, intuition, empathy, music appreciation, etc. Less math, reading, and regiment. They still have time sense. Interesting and great lesson

  • It really shows that sometimes logic and science has to catch up at times, when 'hippy' stuff gets lost in translation and prejudice

  • her scientific side got messed up man

  • This is no different then when you talk about Chakras in the body, they are not physical, but exist. Similarly rather then think left or right brain, you should think logical/physical and universal brain. She describes the feeling of the state when her logical and physical brain shut off.

  • @tubejogindra "Not physical, but exist"? If it's not physical, it doesn't exist.

  • @MrMZaccone Prana is not physical but it exists. If it leaves us we die, but at night when we sleep our Prana keeps us awake, even when we are in deep sleep and unaware.

  • @tubejogindra Prove it ... you can't.

  • @MrMZaccone if it cant be proven it doesn't exist? we know very little and the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. just get over your own arrogance/ ego and open your self to new ideas, theory's, and philosophy. dark matter is not physical but it exist and its every where. try not being so closed minded you might learn something new. open your self up to a new way of thinking and seeing the world. it wont kill you i promise.

  • @lionsare No, but if you can't show me at least SOME evidence of it (and you can't) I see no reason to waste my time with it. I've heard the contention before that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence but quite frankly ... it usually is.

  • @MrMZaccone there is evidence look more int psychology, quantum physics and watch WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW on YouTube, and just because something hasn't been proven does not mean its been dis-proven. theres no way to argue with that.

  • @lionsare You keep using the word "proven" and I keep using the word "evidence". I see no reason to continue a conversation with someone who isn't even willing to agree on the subject matter. There is evidence for dark matter. You're the one who is closed minded by bringing up supernatural explanations. ANY supernatural explanation inherently causes a cessation of learning and is therefore more "closed minded" than waiting openly for evidence. Show me evidence of prana or chakras.

  • @MrMZaccone

If you are really curious , I think you will at some point expieriance prana or energy yourself, then it will be self evident . anybody can feel it , some ways for collecting the evidence you seek are meditation , and tai chi. I'm .

    sure there are many others

  • @18091983ms I've studied Tai Chi Chuan or "Taijiquan" if you prefer, for 22 years. No evidence so far. Chi is is simply an ancient (and failed) way of describing a set of physical characteristics. I suspect prana is much the same, see nothing to controvert that and much that supports it.

  • @lionsare +1

  • @lionsare The burden of proof burdens the ones with the claim. Darwin (for example) didn't go to a priest and said "Hey, I have this theory that we're basically monkeys but you can't disprove it so I'm right".

TL;DR We don't have to disprove it, you have to prove it if you want a scientific foundation, or even consider as a theory and not a joke.

  • @MrMZaccone tubejogindra and you are wrong, both, theres no evidences in both cases ^^.

So dont be stupid, nothing can be afirmed, yet.

  • @JaViNrY14 You mean either case? EVIDENCE, EVIDENCE, EVIDENCE! Got any? Well, then shut up.

  • @MrMZaccone

Ponder this. Thoughts are not physical, yet they exist yes? Thoughts and imagination can be converted into physical reality. Artists of all creeds have done this since we started using tools. I don't see why this is any different. A movie was once only a storyboard, from a script, from a series of thoughts. Sure, we can't measure these things with conventional science (yet), but to say that if something can't exist if it's not physical is just narrow-minded.

  • @thebbeenn No pondering necessary. "Thoughts are not physical, yet they exist yes?" ... NO!!! Thoughts are indeed physical. They are patterns of electrochemical impulses in the brain, nothing more. Thoughts are not "converted into physical reality" THEY ARE PHYSICAL REALITY! Interestingly enough we CAN measure these things with conventional science, we get better at it every day. When you have something to say that isn't easily contradicted by modern science get back to me until then ...

  • @thebbeenn I should point out that claiming any non-physical explanation FOR ANYTHING is inherently narrow minded because it exceeds the scope of your own explanatory power. It is therefore, a claim that since you can't explain it ... you CAN explain it, a clear and blatant CONTRADICTION which necessitates a cessation of all further inquiry. It is essentially, the definition of closed minded behavior. I've fielded this same argument many times before ... it's idiotic.

  • when you have an incurable disease, it is the spirit that can get you out and heal you.

  • @mayabelldotcom Lets suppose that this spirit is the hidden variable that heals us. What then is the deal with folks who develop genetically based diseases that are 100% fatal and strike during middle age such as Huntington's or Lou Gehrig's disease? Why is it that when diseases are genetically/universally fatal the spirit suddenly becomes impotent but with diseases like cancer, which can go into remission naturally, we credit spirit/miracles? I'm curious about your answer

  • I don't think brain works in left & right hemispheres so simply & specifically. There are people who have just one hemisphere working & they can perform all jobs like a normal person. So one hemisphere performing the job of two hemispheres.

Her talk is not so scientific though I wish it was so since it would make life so very easy.

Hence all I can say is, on spiritual plane, concepts of Nirvana etc. are attractive & comforting but scientific evidence as per my knowledge defies her theory.

  • I agree with you about one side of brain taking over, as it is same with eye, hearing, kidneys etc., as body has redundant mechanisms. however in its normal form this division is a nice way to describe this phenomenon. The main conclusion is not how the body works, but that everyone of us is wired to be in this mode. That is what Yoga provides with out damaging your brain. In that mode your individuality disappears and one sees oneslf as part of universe.

  • I have almost the same spiritual beliefs which I have reached through scientific knowledge to a point & after that on pure logic.

But she has tried to make people believe as if it were scientific facts that the left hemisphere acts in this particular way & the right does that way. There are no proofs of such working of hemispheres which could be verified by other scientists & experiments. So this misrepresenting is wrong.

If there are any such proofs I'll be much grateful to have them.

  • my objections are similar to universalist54

  • At a scientific and physical level. It is interesting the comment that Universalist54 has reached similar beliefs . In my experience our body including our brain is part of physical and replaceable, and is part of Para Vidya that science and logic can fathom and demonstrate. However Apara Vidya can only be experienced and not easy to describe. You can only feel what she is saying if you have experienced that yourself. I experienced it but could not describe it to others like she did.

  • interesting, i had the exact stroke that she had, my left brain was affected and i lost my speech and logical memory. took many years to get use to talk in english again like others. I still have trouble on it. before i was a left brainer and i ended up as a right brainer

  • I like the way you are analyzing this logically. In Gita they talk about four methods to achieve the same Yogic condition. to be absorbed in your work, through Knowledge, thru Raja Yoga ( Meditation) and through surrender. In each cases you have to lose your identity.

  • Great video and the longer ones here on youtube are very good too. She talked about losing 37 years of baggage because of not being seduced by the mental chatter. Also became able to watch the stream of thoughts and not just buy into them.

  • There are two kinds of people in the world with regards to Nirvana.

There's thems that know, and there's thems that don't.

    That's it.

Nirvana brings a knowingness of the totality of everything intuitively.

All your questions are answered including a load you never even thought of asking.

The self is fully realise in being.

All the knobs and levers of an otherwise troubled heart are at the total control of the owner.

Enlightenment, Satori, finding the self, the unification of yin and yang etc....

  • She has been one of very lucky person to have this Incredible Yogic experience, that is rare in the western culture, but is achievable through practices of Karma, Jnana, Raja and Bhakti Yoga ( Bhagvad Gita). She is doing a great service to the western world by making them aware that every human being is connected and by losing its self identity, one can have this incredible experience. Other authors in the West have talked about this but have not had this experience.

  • tubejogindra: Thank you for mentioning the types of practice that can bring on this experience of connection. Much appreciated.
