Do you have something that the pipe runs into to store extra water if you decided to do so? Like a rain barrel. Or does the area you live in restrict that practice?
Hi there... We have just started to use soap nuts (Sapindus) & found they wash the clothes great... Some have more species have more saponins than others but well worth looking into... Looking at doing the same with ours for the Self watering / wicking garden beds...
@ConcernedMushroom We use a stainless steel mesh lint trap where the water exits the washing machine drain hose and enters the wash tub. The lint trap can be seen in the video and it works well.
@SleestaksRule Our goats and chickens eat the grass we grow. It is important for us. We also have purslane by our pomegranate, which is one of the few native greens that can be grown here.

does tyour system get clogged up with laundry lint? i found that to be a problem with my system...how do you avoid that?

What would you place in the area instead of grass that you can't eat?
