At Michigan State we have two, RAs and Intercultural Aides. Both are student staff but RAs have duty, enforce policy and try to bond with a floor. Intercultural Aides bond with a building but our only concern is helping them become culturally aware, that their academics are good and giving them someone to talk to. SO essentially I'm like a professional friend that makes sure less people are ignorant about race, religion sexual orientation etc. No one hates me but the racists :P
