@chetnet you are so right but that was getz.make no mistake chet was his equal in allthings musical.stan had a chip on his shoulders dont know why because he wasnt on his own being a great tenor.coltrane and the rest were there too.
So much in common though vis a vis concept of producing beauty through their sound. In as far as that goes they both 'underblow' and play with a nearly vibratoless 'lazy behind the beat' quality ... beautiful ... and I think both these men successfully created beauty through their music
Lovely!!! Baker is magnificent, and Getz, although not up to the Mulligan/Baker collaboration on Line for Lyons, does a good job. Too bad Getz is such prima dona, that he had a hard time sharing the spotlight with Chet!!!
