The french revolution did NOT bring bread "to the poor"; it didn't bring bread to anybody for that matter. The situation after all that bloody time became WORSE than before. And that aftermath was an emperor Napoleon. One man with all powers. democracy? oh please....I like Napoleon because he finished with the anarchy. The revolution filled just the fantasy and the imaginary. It did accomplish nothing.
What positive impact did Robespierre have apart from his political ideas? Yes he helped form the Declaration with the ideals for France but did he actually do anything else?

Well, it looks like they had a stupid strategy. France today is very socialist with lots of civil servants and its taxes are very high, especially if you're wealthy. In fact, the minimum wealth-tax threshold hasn't changed in generations (it's still below a million). France is a great place to live if you're poor, lazy or disabled. Why wouldn't the wealthy Zionists simply pay off the monarchy to support their ambitions? Your idiotic conspiracy theories never make any sense.
Robespierre used tabloid lies to sway the people. Those who believed the lies were incited to riot. Those who could see through him were threatened with barbarism. @BazSargand786 Opened the doors to civilisation in Europe? Are you crazy?.......There is a strong case to say the Roman Empire opened the doors to civilisation in Europe - a mere 2,000 years ago, but the French Revolution at 200 years ago? So Europe was uncivilised 200 years ago until a bunch of Frogs decapitated their entire nobility, which lead to the rise of a ruthless migit dictator who picked fights with everyone until he got his ass handed to him by the British.............What a dick!!!

@iriemike420 I agree! Even the model of the guillotine presented here, looks like the original 18th century model. Very rare conception as the guillotines presented in other documentaries / movies have the design of the late 19th century.

Thanks so much for uploading this! I've found that they've never taught me anything about this important historical event at school, and all of the books that I've checked out from the library on the French Revolution have all been so drastically boring as to not hold my attention for very long. This will be sure to help me remember. :D
O.o I still can't believe how bloodthirsty the French people were. Most of my blood is Western European. I think the only thing that isn't is my Native American blood. I know I've got French.
I see it as basically being this simple. The monarchy sought to consolidate its power by undermining the feudal nobility. W/o a strong nobility to manage the peasants, the bureaucracy sought to replace it. It failed. Instead it turned to destroy the absolute monarch who created it & ran things for itself. This is what was called democracy. It has been crushing the life out of France ever since. I call it neo-mandarinism. As for Voltaire & the "Enlightenment," he wanted a pension from the king.
...state and the accomplishments of man. Instead of modest and God fearing living, the age of enlightenment brought about a Luciferian concept of living, such as "do what you want and what you have the power to do because man is the supreme authority". The age of enlightenment is the greatest fall of man from grace to a state of proud sin and self righteous glorification.
What the revolution did, its underlying motive, was the removal of the previous ruling class of the nobility and the Church. Without the Church, and its full functionality of doctrinal and dogmatic guidance for the world (its ecclesiastical authority) as well as its administration of the sacraments, the world cannot truly love God. Following this horrible part of history, an aethestic and gnostic society emerged, which sought to crush the 'tyranny' of the Church (how foolish!), and worship the..
@AngelPeace2211 : I agree partly, but the lower class was still mistreated. All the revolution did was cause a power shift in the higher classes. Spiritual health and well being were disregarded for the outpouring of greed and envy. The wealthy do generally hate the poor in their pride, but the poor equally hate the wealthy, not out of a desire for justice or fairness, but self interest and greed.
The French Revolution was possibly the most devastating collective acts of humanity. Unlike the atrocities of genocide and disease, this abomination was a revolt, destruction and overthrow of the Catholic Faith. Furthermore, the revolution was the first step in a series of global revolts which saw the end of humble living, Christian Order, and love of God. We exchanged our lives of physical poverty and temporal suffering for eternal damnation and sinful pride.
@catholicpeter But i think you need to look at exactly what the old feudal order was. Serfdom put people in poverty, they had few rights, and the Church (and no offense to this) encouraged its devout nations to run things like the Inquisition, and suppress scientific innovation. They did reform. The counter reformation put new scientists, lawyers and theologians to serve the church, and when tensions between labor and property arose in the 19th century, Populorum progressio radically changed
@catholicpeter the way that the Church operated, and i think it was very noble of Pope Leo XIII (and sorry, i mean rerum novarum, but Populorum progressio is very good too) to finally cast out the old feudal order and the new European liberals. But he was trying to save a church that was resented for everything it once stood for. The french revolution, the British empire's emerging- indeed the 18th century, planted the seeds of secularism. Was the revolution violent? Yes.
@catholicpeter and many devout, good Catholics died. I am a pacifist, and an atheist, but i still draw inspiration from figures like Oscar Romero, Dom Helder Camara, and Leo Tolstoy. What I am saying, is that the "humble living" the Church taught was followed by their followers- not those who led the church (and it still is today). By encouraging the supremacy of the Church through violence, they received violence.
@catholicpeter the revolution is the first step to the modern world, and because those who rules the world don't want to give up their power to the people, it is violent. When The French Rev began, all Europe went on war against France, for exemple. For the Christians, nobody regrets them in Europe. The present of Europe is secular and the future of the world will be secular. God = past.
France comes from the name of a Germanic tribe callled Franks. However the people of Frances past are Celts, Romans (area of France was called Gaul at that time). France was inhabited by many tribes of C. after the Roman Empire fell. many Germanic tribes invaded it. I suggest you look up History of France on wiki. : )
@TheAsharedhett what about italy did they come from gaul its hard trying too figure out each others ancestors i just like learning about it interesting stuff
Actually the real reason Louis XIV built Versailles was because he had a tramatizing experience as a child in Paris and henceforth didn't want to live there. He hated Paris and almost never went there.
Lviv was always Ukrainian, even when it was under Polish occupation, colonization and exploitation. Ukrainian people were not in charge, but they built Lviv with their hands. Polish people are reading Polish history, which is exaggerated and twisted, to show that Poles were good and kind - the truth is, Poles were the oppressors of the Ukrainian people.

God = past.
