Blender 3D - Voodoo - Stargate Compositing

so blender is a vfx sfx program i just got it thinking it was a video editer lol well what ever this is i could use this for my videos if you could help that would be lovely

should've added a little bit of bluish lighting on the grass close to the event horizon, also, i think perhaps ambient occlusion or somthing like that might be necessary (or if it's already there, ramped up), the transion from regular grass to grass touching the gate seems too sharp, also the shaddow near the event horizon looks out of place.

This stargate does look awesome. Alas, as with many home improvement fads, they seem like a good idea at the time, but ultimately decrease the value of the property. I blame the health and safety laws.

@IhoptimusLime the gate is on a plane with a transparent (Z-buffered, Alpha 0,2) material that renders shadows only (Shaders > OnlySha). thats for blender 2.49b.

@22561morty in a simple summary, you use blender to export the video frames as targa files, then load them into voodoo, then track it, then export python script which can be imported into blender. there are plenty of tutorials on the internet (just search google)
