cms271828: very intelligent comment. I noticed that you've used the notion of equivalence relations (symmetry, transitivity, reflexivity, etc.)! Your comment was correct and I must say much more intelligent that the video posted above!!
It has good taste, because if 4=64 then it will have a contradiction. In mathematics anything can happen if it doesnt cause a contradiction ithin the theory, usualy if 1=4 then 64=1 also.
The simple point being that "1=4" does not mean "4=1". Your argument is that it DOESN'T cause a contradiction, when in fact "1=4" does UNLESS you assume that the original 1,2,3, and 4 on the left of the equal signs are just placeholders for variables... otherwise you're left with 1 and 4, which have specific and different values in mathematics, holding the same value.
Long story short: This video was made by a child and anyone who thinks they're clever with this is also a child
Nobody got tricked. 4 does not equal 1, 1 equals 4. It isn't an algebraic formula, therefore the number on the right has no direct relationship with the number on the left. It's first grade mathematics. You who said you 'fell for it', you're simply falling for his ploy to look witty.
if 4 =1, then 1=4

The point is 1 does not equal 4, under the standard definition of equality.
If we exchange =l symbol for ~ relation.
Then 1 ~ 4 2 ~ 16 3 ~ 64
But who said ~ was symmetric,( a ~ b if and only if b ~ a ) ?
So we cannot assume 4 ~ 1
Also we cannot state for sure that 4 ~ 256, but this appears to follow the pattern.
Question is flawed.

if 1 = 4 and 2=16 and 3=64 then 4 could bloody well = 256 or any other random symbol. since = doesent mean equal anymore.

... That's incorrect. This video is childish.
