i went for a ride on my gio x37r 4v this afternoon and WOW ! 7 more hours and break in will be done. I owned a honda 250 before and that very similar. But half price ! So if you wanna pay a extra $3500 to get the honda logo, well go for it !!!
im thinking about getting that excact same bike, i was wondering if you could tell me how long youve owned the bike for and if youve had problems with it,,,
i think ill stick with suzuki but it looks like a baja on steroids ya know im not kinocking it because i havent riden one but still ill like the video
i just bought this bike and'IT ROCKS' !! when i had it out on the trails,i was complimented on my bike all day by other riders.i let my buddy take her for a spin and he was blown away by the muscle in this bike.THE X37 IS THE BEST BIKE I HAVE RIDEN IN A COUPLE OF YEARS,AND I JUST TOOK THE SUZUKI 250 OUT FOR A TEST IN BARRIE AND IT WAS NO BETTER FOR 8 THOUSAND THAN MINE.i paid 2500 dollars !!!!!
iF YOU WANT TO SEE A VIDEO OF THE 4V JUST CHECK ONE MAKE BY ROSCIANO MOTO JUST LOOK FOR IN YOU TUBE BY THE NAME HOTBIKE 250 RR AND WACHT IT! iT LOOKS STRONG!
My dealer in Red Deer, AB has the new 4 Valve version and it is based off the 2011 crf250r it is awesome and built way better than the 2v the only issue is he only has the one and it is his , they will not be avalible to the public until next spring but we raced it against a crf250r and it stood its own awesome the honda did have a little more on top but not by much!!! We will be posting Video soon of the 4V in action (X37 4V vs X37 2V vs Honda CRF250R)
can anyone tell me where i can get a oil filter for this bike? i checked the website and it said that its closely modeled after a crf 250R so i figured the 250r's oil filter will fit it. but it didn't.
@reddemon132 if you can not find a stock oil filter you can use the filter out of a yamaha yzf 250 but a better solution is a K&N oil filter, that what i use in my bike and they are awesome. The filter number is KN-139 they are perfect spec for this bike and way better than stock!
@reddemon132 K&N Air Filter # HA-2505XD ($109.00), if you want a little cheaper but still awesome filter the Twin Air Filter # 150209 ($40.00) or UNI NU-4136ST ($40.00), FMF mufflers are part # 041205 and the Mega bomb Head Pipe # 041427, Renthal Fat Bars and Dual Compund Grips ($260.00) i dont have the CDI and Coil numbers on hand but when I get home I will make sure to send them to you :) as for the YZ filter just make sure its from a 2009!
Hey i forgot! Check out in motovertecom the video of the Rieju 250 MRT ( aka Gas Gas 250 4t) its the Yam Wr on steroids. The WR unpluged version.Wacth it, i hope you like it!
Okay i got your point! Thats something true! The chinese start to learn about metals and form with quality. But they are progress really good. All the Chinese motors on the Market are copy of Honda,Yamaha,Kawasaki & Suzuki! But that doesnt mean that they arent working on they own proyects.A saw a few Chinese motors using parts from jappanese supliers. They delivers the motors in a mellow tune to prevent breakdown.Because like i told you thet are learning with customers and market.Good luck!
I like what 1221kx125 said. The engines are really crappy. Unreliable, as far as i'm concerned. And sorry, klatup, this bike wouldn't compare to a Yamy. Believe me, I know. I've tried. Sure it will give it a run for their money, on a trail maybe. But open them both up, mile long drag. Yamy will win everytime. The Gio won't stand up to what other bikes put down. Stockk handlebars of the Gio, will bend, and eventually break. Along with other parts of the bike.
Dude! They make a 4 valve motor too! They start with the 2 valve then manufacture the 4 valve. The 4v motor can give the Yamy a run for there money! Plus it cost half of the price.Beside you get a lot for what they for.To give and idea you can get a KTM 200 exc for the price of the money of the YAM and it kick the a... the Yam.What about that!
Why people wants to compare the 2 valve Zongshen motor with the crf motor? Sad i dont see Gio bring the 250 v4bike to Canada yet.It will give a run for the money to the crf 250 in performance. But again its unfair to compare a 7500 bike with a 2000. bike.Just few years ago chinese bikes where just crap. But in years they are learn a lot and it wont take long to see a real japanese contender but with a killer price.
Please don't think this is a good bike. Yeah, I rode one, i bought it for $850 canadian. Second day riding, it needed to be fixed. Yes it's a good starter bike if you want something with alot of weight to keep you balanced. Comparing this too my new honda crf 250r, it's not even close. My honda will destroy this Giovanni in an instant. There is a reason why these are so cheap. They arn't reliable.
@LiamHeuvel177 Hate to break it to you but these bikes are actually from china, they are actually made by XMOTO but GIO has the rights to the name in Canada thats why they say GIO instead of XMOTO just like in Australia these bikes are called Crossfire (if you look under your rear fender it will even say Xmoto as it does in many other places on the bike), and you can find dealerships in Edmoton, Calgary, Red Deer, Vancouver, Toronto and many other cities in Canada or buy them online!
@reddemon132 it takes around 10-15 hours depending on how you ride it, if you are being hard on the bike it will take less time but basically when its time for your first oil change your bike should be broke in 10-15 hours unless racing then after your first full day of racing change the oil and the bike should be broke in!
I recently bought my first bike ever. 2008 250cc x35 chip tuned. It easily beats 250cc two stroke yamaha. Its light, powerful and doesnt give me any problems at all. Starts from the third kick cold every time. Cant go wrong with the price either, $900 for the first bike. Its crazy how many people bash giovanni online without riding one of these bikes once. Hopefully giovanni would make two stroke bikes in the future. Truly fun bike to drive.
@Nismo200000007 you sir, seem to have a career in the transportation of male bovine feces from your keyboard to our screens. in layman's terms: BULLSHIT!
I have a CR250 and Y125 i recently just bought this bike i take it out kick the shit out of it and it gives me know problems good bike for having fun !!
Guys dont get mad about the bike! This its something that will happen before was the jappanese againts the european brands. Now are the chinese against the japs.Do you now about the xmoto xz250 v4 and also that they are coming with a 300cc zonsheng engine too?Wake up guys! The chinese are coming strong!Look what happen to toyota with Hyundai they start eating there breakfast! So people start to buy smart not just name!
the suspension on these bikes is respectivley 6.30" on trhe front and "4.33 on the back. a honda crf250r has 12.2" front and 12.5 back. thats twice the travel on the front and almost 3 times on the back. i quote (right from the description) "You could compare its suspension to a YZ250F or CR250R easily" yah maybe if you were blind deaf and in a coma after having a stroke! its disgusting that they would even try to comare this to a honda of yami
wow everything thats on that bike can be found beter built on a honda and dont say not the exhaust because the crf250x special edition is black with dual exhaust i myself have a regular crf250x
dumb asses gio sucks! and everyone knows it! engine are not tough! the supension is realy cheap stuff! and is in no way comparable to any japanese machines! yeah try agains and old shitty cr 125! try against a crf 250 or yz250F! and is in no way close to the power band of a cr 250 you are are starters and you dont know shit! i bet a whole bunch of you are biginners and dont eaven know how to use a freakin clutch! you guys dont know anything about dirtbiking! this shit dont come close to crf250r
I haved raced this bike just to see what it can do and it can handle the jumps just fine but just like every other bike out there you just have to make sure you do a good visual inspection on the bike before you race/jump it and make sure all the bolts and what not are tight and in place! I would choose this bike over the 230 as the 230 is a trail bike and this bike has been built to race on a track! I also race a CRF250R and this GIO can hold it own!
yes, i use to ride motocross years ago, and i want to take it again... but soffter and cheaper than before tha`s why i want this one or a crf 230.....do u know if this bike is better than crf 230?
@renatodavidpp this bike is very compairable to a CRF250R so in my opionion this bike is way better than the CRF230. The 230 is built for trail riding and the suspension is just not built for motocross where as the X37 has been built and tested on the track, you can take any after market part from the Honda CRF250R and put it on this bike. You will not regret the purchase of this bike (I also ride a Honda CRF250R and I really enjoy this GIO as a play bike)
I bought one of these bikes a month ago for off road use, I have since added a K&N Airfilter, Performace GY1 CDI and Coil, FMF Full System, Renthal Twin Wall bars with Dual Compound Grips and many other upgrades, my bike now revs to 14,000 RPM (DYNO) and can keep up with a CRF250R on/off the track (I also Race a 2010 CRF250R so I know what im talking about) these bikes are great bikes for people looking to get into the sport at a cost that will not break the bank paid $2600 Canadian plus mods.
@Mr261194 these bikes can do jumps like any of the other big name brands, just like the big name brands you need to make sure you check over your bike before every ride just to make sure all the nuts and bolts are still there, the only draw back I have found with this bike is it is very hard to get oil filters for but working with the dealership i purchaed the bike from we have found the the oil filter from the Yamaha YZF250/450 works just fine wih this bike! All and all I love this Bike!
they are what they are...there cheap and great for a person who isnt going to beat the crap out of it racing and jumping.....i just don t like the sound of 4 strokes at all......2 stroke all the way for sound
@gokory no duh its a 2 stroke and its name brand how about u leave people alone who care if ur bikes fast its doesn feel good cuzz my yzf 450 would rape ur bike so just be nice to people because i thing this guy likes his bike very much and tell you the truth id rather have one of those then a cr !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@laithb ABout 1/2 the quality of brand name bike for 1/5th the price. Seems decent. Great beginner bikes or for someone who can't afford a Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, ect...
@JoeythePope yes you're right but the fact that its a "250 dirt bike" i would have expected a little more, these look like thin 300cc atvs, thats what im saying :D Plus the sound? what is that, its like the bike is screaming for the next gear every second
@laithb Yeah that's true. There quality cannot compare to brand name bikes. This thing would never keep up with a YZF250. But, like I said, great for beginners or for people who cannot afford to pay $9,000 for a YZF250. Or what ever the price is new i'm not 100% sure.
this bike only got 28hp cr 125 is 36hp stock and 40-44 hp if tuneed you can get a cr 125 for 1900 in winter and 2823 plus shipping so 3000 your paying for this bike. and 3000 get you a crf 250 the real deal just my 2 cent
@1221kx125 ur bike is a 2 stroke it has no compression nor massive bore and stroke.all 2 stroke have more horse power than 4 strokes.but 4 stroke have more compression and bore and stroke meaning that it slow at start and fast at end.see a cr125 is only fast in the begingin but it top speed it really nothing.only 113kph.this bike in a long distance has a better chance to beat the cr125 in long distance.but this bike is very slow and short
@Mr261194 from what I hear, 2-strokes have all of their power at a high rpm, as where 4-strokes have all of their power at a much lower rpm. that's just what I heard, correct me if I'm wrong.
@renegade78100 nah you right.2 stroke bike are only fast in short distance in long they got speed but not compared to a 4 stroke.like in this video the cr125 has about 18000 rpm or something along the line like that and the compression is very low so it would start of fast.the x37 has 9000rpms and almost 11:1 compression.big bore and stroke.so if the track was very long the 250 would catch up but short track no it would lose
@rickdaniels87 your an idiot,. down on somebody having fun, dont watch the vid if you dont like it. if it was a waste of time, why did u waste more time commenting, i say great vid.
the suspension maybe better but still rebounds to quick 2:28 the front tire jumps back of the ground. and these bikes cost 2300 bucks you can got buy a 2004 cr 125 for 2300
Cool bikes but I guarantee they will never beat the quality of Japanese bikes. At the rate both are expanding and their technology is improving japan is atleast 75years ahead of the game. These Chinese bikes are being built cheap, heavy and slow.... Which results in bad quality and lots of headaches. Ask me how I know. Made, rode and repaired both kinds if bikes so don't tell me what's better
Its cool how China is trying to compete with Japanese bikes. But its going to be a long time till we ever see a Chinese bike compete in a US National or US Supercross race.
@elibaba7 you mix 2 stroke oil into your gas tank then your gio bike will sound like this.. Im in the midst of swapping my cr480 2 stroke engine into a offshore 250cc frame
@Desspare your rmz 250 also cost 3-5x more then this, i wouldnt buy one but i wouldnt but a rmz 250 either.. ill stickk with my cr480 2 stroke smokes crf 450s to this day
1st day with mine. take the time to dial in the suspension and you should be able to get almost serious with this beauty. If you don't race and don't want a bike that you have to rebuild every 15 hours, then this bike is exactly for you. The Motor has a 34 hour break in period. You can buy the whole motor for a 1/4 of what is cost to rebuild a Honda. Not dissing Honda by any means. Love em. If I had the money to get one, I still get three of these instead so we could all go. Cheers
GIO Dosent look any good.. =/.. im looking to buy a new Dritbike.. here Soon.. any body who wants to see what i Run Check out my Page.. i got 2. Dif Videos of my Bike running. Hill Climbing and just Plan Running.. but i wanna buy a KTM 200cc 2Storke. or a 250Yamah.2Stroke. or a Suziki 2Storke. but i gotta old 125 Kawiskie 6Speed-2stroke...
WOW im suprised on how much GIO has advanced on their bikes. Now they release a motocross bike? Looks exactly like my honda CRF250r. This bike must be very heavy because it has a steel frame and a battery. Oh and I saw rumors on the GIO web that they are going to make a 450? Wow.
thank you for not makiing chinese bike stupid

laithb 11 months ago 2
@laithb 250 4-strokes
espionz 11 months ago
@laithb ABout 1/2 the quality of brand name bike for 1/5th the price. Seems decent. Great beginner bikes or for someone who can't afford a Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, ect...
JoeythePope 11 months ago
@JoeythePope yes you're right but the fact that its a "250 dirt bike" i would have expected a little more, these look like thin 300cc atvs, thats what im saying :D Plus the sound? what is that, its like the bike is screaming for the next gear every second
laithb 11 months ago
@laithb Yeah that's true. There quality cannot compare to brand name bikes. This thing would never keep up with a YZF250. But, like I said, great for beginners or for people who cannot afford to pay $9,000 for a YZF250. Or what ever the price is new i'm not 100% sure.
JoeythePope 11 months ago
Id like to see just how well these things perform. Definitely the nicest Chinese bike ive ever seen
alteredgrind 11 months ago
i have to admit this bike looks very very nice! but im not sure if i would trust something from china and something you cant get parts for!

1221kx125 1 year ago
@1221kx125 oh well the one i have says it made in italy lol and its a giovanny 250 an 08 tho but watever your prob right
dirtbikerman1234 1 year ago
@1221kx125 ur bike is a 2 stroke it has no compression nor massive bore and stroke.all 2 stroke have more horse power than 4 strokes.but 4 stroke have more compression and bore and stroke meaning that it slow at start and fast at end.see a cr125 is only fast in the begingin but it top speed it really nothing.only 113kph.this bike in a long distance has a better chance to beat the cr125 in long distance.but this bike is very slow and short
Mr261194 9 months ago
@Mr261194 from what I hear, 2-strokes have all of their power at a high rpm, as where 4-strokes have all of their power at a much lower rpm. that's just what I heard, correct me if I'm wrong.
renegade78100 9 months ago
@renegade78100 nah you right.2 stroke bike are only fast in short distance in long they got speed but not compared to a 4 stroke.like in this video the cr125 has about 18000 rpm or something along the line like that and the compression is very low so it would start of fast.the x37 has 9000rpms and almost 11:1 compression.big bore and stroke.so if the track was very long the 250 would catch up but short track no it would lose
Mr261194 9 months ago

motabikeboy 1 year ago
Cool bikes but I guarantee they will never beat the quality of Japanese bikes. At the rate both are expanding and their technology is improving japan is atleast 75years ahead of the game. These Chinese bikes are being built cheap, heavy and slow.... Which results in bad quality and lots of headaches. Ask me how I know. Made, rode and repaired both kinds if bikes so don't tell me what's better

Its cool how China is trying to compete with Japanese bikes. But its going to be a long time till we ever see a Chinese bike compete in a US National or US Supercross race.
articwolf10 1 year ago
@articwolf10 I think that this dirt bike will be able to do supercross race... It will be strong enough bot probably not fast enough.

Cheers

WOW im suprised on how much GIO has advanced on their bikes. Now they release a motocross bike? Looks exactly like my honda CRF250r. This bike must be very heavy because it has a steel frame and a battery. Oh and I saw rumors on the GIO web that they are going to make a 450? Wow.
