  • 250K dead, you know they were mostly civilians, anyone who glorifies in this crap is sick.

  • @kassandrasduplex not all of them are civilian most were soldier

  • @kassandrasduplex Yeah civilians with military grade Japanese rifles and machine guns aid the Japanese military

  • Little history lesson for everybody. First flag on Shuri castle was a Rebel battle flag from Rebel company 5th Marines for 3 days visible 2 miles away. God bless the south

  • @ColtelloGocce Bet they were pissed they couldn't force the Japanese into doing all the work for them.

  • @AeroSharkTech lol some yellabellys did kill themselves =P

  • i wonder how many veterans of ww2 are still alive

  • the last battle was Soviet invasion of Manchuria August 9 – 20, 1945

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • Ohhh... I see roasted pigs !

I've never seen ppl BBQ with a flawthrower before

  • U CHINESE R FUCKING BITCHES THERE IS 1.2 BILLION OF U AND NATION OF 100 MILLION U R FUCKING BITCHES GO KILL URSELVES

  • OMG. Poor americans...

  • The rock and roll soundtrack is both lame and exploitative, shame on the makers of this cracker jack doc...

  • @Mistermax30 that's what the kids want to hear these days. they have zero atention span and need to be distracted all the time.

  • I doubt there were that many banzai attacks by the time of Okinawa...

  • if u put it into perspective okinawa was just a tiny little island, and defending it were an estimated 80,000 japanese troops. by the end of the battle over 75,000 japanese and 17,000 american troops lay dead. this is war at its very worst.

  • this has helped me so much because i have a huge project about America vs Japan

  • @runeman412 ur great uncle is an asshole

  • my great uncle died on okinawa he took out 2 machine gun nests and 3 snipers before a 4th shot him he was awarded a medal of Valor

  • THANK YOU DOUGLAS MACARTHUR....

  • I saw your comment about the daily pounding and thought you idiot, then I heard " He was weary from the daily pounding," and nearly pissed myself.

  • wasnt this pointless, didn't they know they had the bomb yet. 250,000 people.

  • the war ended APRIL FOOLES!!

    sigh :I

  • Why was this show Cancelled... It rocks!

  • everyone buy and watch THE PACIFIC its awesome

  • ISawMaria: I was in the Navy. I saw these islands. Congratulations. Enjoy the Pacific. I have always missed it.

  • This was not the last battle of WWII. The Russian invasion of Manchuria was the last battle. This was the last American LAND battle. The USN and the Army Air Force continued fighting against the Japanese on the seas and over the islands of Japan until August 1945. If the Battle of Britain was a battle, then the air war over Japan is reasonably called the Battle of Japan.

  • @mjmikelson why are you acting like a smart ass? The invasion of manchuria was not even the last of the fighting Russia and the US invaded Korea after that.

  • good thing they made the atomic bomb cause if we invaded japan the losses at okinawa would have been nothing compared to losses in japan

  • @texasrangersr1 that and overstatement statistic shows that it a 50% chance we might win and even if we did we will suffer a casualty of at least 1 million on the first week and civilian and soldier would fight tooth to nails to win and as for the japanese soldier in other occupy island in the pacific they coulnt be transported to japan sunce the japanese lost their navy and air but we would have to fight soldier still to clear those pacific island not near japan as well as in deep part of asia

  • @texasrangersr1 true if we did win japan would suffer more greatly then those atmoic bomb but we would suffer just as bad with our troop and vice versa

  • 9:23 i would have shit myself

  • oh & btw it's pronounced O-Key-Now-A (:

  • I live in Okinawa now, (:

    it's beautiful !

  • Laura Lacey is my History teacher at Brooke Point High school, VA! :D

  • Looks like some of the re-enactors' uniforms aren't up-to-date. They should have helmet covers, correct?

  • @slayere23 not all, they are romavable

  • @falloutfacts

True. It's been a while since I've watched the video (I'm just replying, not watching), and if the American forces there are the Army, not Marines, helmet covers are not standard.

  • ha! 10:06 see the use of the word rape to describe killing lots of people wasn't made up by lame ass fps fans

  • @MrPhantompants he says RAKING not RAPING.

  • @ouimaisnon100 SURE HE DOES

  • Technically Okinawa wasn't the last battle of world war II since the cease fire wasn't announced until August 15th, it was the last major battle of the American-Japanese phase of the war, but the war continued in China, and the Japanese situation became even more desperate when the Soviets invaded Manchuria on August 9th

  • @snakes3425 You've got that right!

  • 07:20 thats me...

  • What's this? Call of Duty is way much better.

  • haha thats funny daily poundiing haha thats funny

  • @HaggenPagan26 true...we had the island blockaded, and we had huge amounts of supplies and medical help

  • the rock music is disgraceful, i cringed when the cocky commentator with the high tech visuals took over after the speech by a man who has experienced mens recreation of hell.

  • guadalcanal, peleliu, iwo jima, and okinawa worst battles ever

  • @OGCowboyck stalingrad is worse

  • @hatemf23 Ok whats your point?

  • @mesohorny360 my point is what i wrote.

  • @hatemf23 ok just wandering

  • Martin Morgan is ignorant, the invasion of Okinawa was not nearly the size of the invasion in Normandy. And the battle of Normandy would dwarf the battle of Okinawa

  • @corvettecrazy262 The battle of Normandy had 1,000,000 soldier who the allies would just keep sending to take the Normandy coast. So yes, the whole campaign in Normandy dwarfs Okinawa.

  • @pxdfover The invasion of Normandy was also larger than the invasion of Okinawa. 175,000 troops during the initial assault force on Normandy, 50,000 on Okinawa. 183,000 is more than what fought in the entire battle of Okinawa

  • japs deserved everything they got..USA didnt start the war they did...very little civilian deaths it was army against army.....

  • @ducati0000 actually their civilian deaths were pretty severe, but you are right they started war therefore they must suffer the consequence whether they think it's fair or not.

  • I would go strange to japan mainland without taking those tiny island. Put the freak maniac ignorant Hirohito back in the baby cradle

  • Those re-enactors are moving along with rifles in the "low-ready" and "high-ready" positions...only problem is, troops didn't do that back then......

  • @gdurant Thank you again.I'm proud that when it came to the ultimate test (WW2), when the lines of good and evil where drawn so clear. The Chinese and American troops both fought on the same side.My only wish is that our leaders can stop arguing like a bunch of idiots and put our differences aside

  • somehow these guns look a whole lot more accurate than modern ones, I've seen modern combat documentaries and they always are shooting forever in one spot, the actual firearms never appear to hit insurgents or rarely do unless its close range.

  • God Bless the American troops who helped save us Chinese from brutal Japanese rule! We Chinese people are forever thankful for what you have done.

  • @Jedbrien It was America's duty to help you and a great honor that they could help you. It is what makes the US such a unique and great country.

    God's blessing to you

  • @Jedbrien hey, wanna know what happen in Okinawa americans and your government haven't told you, THERE WAS RAPE IN oKINAWA TOO. No I'M NOT jap. I'M chinese but I have met some marines fightin in okinawa. Rape by us forces. SOVIET war crimes in Northeast china, in 1945. EVERYONE THE SAME MATE. In okinawa family suicide happen, back then they were brainwashed to think americans kill kill them I mean the civillains. Soviet troops kill alot of people in northeast china. Even they did in Germany.

  • @Jedbrien aLSO they did in Germany. So there is no diffience in war. EVeryone is the same.

  • @Jedbrien

you don`t know too much about history, do you?the americans didn`t mind the 10.000.000 dead chinese civilians too much.they could have acted way earlier if they wanted.they were just waiting for a good reason to enter the war(pearl harbor which was not incidental at all)the japanese were pushed into the war, by embargos, because the usa feared a great power in asia.just like they were fighting a continental power in europe, not to save the jews, get real, america was never neutral

  • @XXXblackgoatXXX well the U.S. had to enter the war in europe because germany was threatining their ally (Britain). And no one had any idea about the death camps until ally forces moved far enough into germany and switzerland to find them. So obviously you know nothing about history. When America gets into a war its all chips in.

  • @MagnumPI4 Hitler declared war on you guys, the man thought that USA was already using all efforts in supporting GB...Was he wrong----when your amazing industry went all out in producing arms there was no winning the war for Hitler.Im happy he did,or ells it would have been up to the Russians to free entire Europe..

    Not a good perspective----

  • @Jedbrien thank you mr chinese man

  • @Jedbrien Our countries are probaly about to go to war soon :|

  • @PregnantHIppo9 why do you say that china have made no aggression toward united states

  • @asian714cali Meh, but they support iran and we owe them alot of money, its just a hunch. Maybe im going crazy, idk

  • @PregnantHIppo9 lol you arent crazy.. i know tons of people who believe in stuff like that and especially in asian country such as vietnam and the dispute of the south china sea..but china and usa i highly doubt it or it be like along time before we actually go to war with china

  • Okinawa was the worst of all the pacific battles of World war two next to Iwo Jima. 12,000 american lives lost. japanese losses were high. Civilian losses just as bad. 30 U.S. ships were sunk as a result of kamakazie attacks. it was a bloodbath.

  • @ mahatmashandi I dont know how you can be so rude a quarter of a million people were killed on Okinawa show some respect or just leave your comment to yourself.

  • I thought the last battle of world war two was the manchurrian offensive by the russian red army.

  • @bombarderoazul nnooo last battle of the Pacific War and the U.S. part of the war, but yes your right that baatlle was the last one.

  • The young guy at 01:19 looks like Pvt. Webster from Band of Brothers.

  • japanese made a lot of booby traps

  • At Iwo Jima, Japanese attack tactics radically changed. The Japanese general banned suicide Banzai charges, which took the lives of many Japanese soldiers.

  • @danrox127 which they are stupid,idiot,bastard

  • Did the Marines ever switch over to the M1 Garand as their primary rifle? Or did they stick to the Springfield?

  • @panzerkpf1 M1 Garand but they also used springfield too

  • @panzerkpf1

Some marines were snipers. That's why they used the Springfield.

But the M1 is more cooler

  • the japs did use kamakasies to take many ships including the best air craft carrier of all ime the big E

  • Japan would have probably had a better chance if only they shot their guns stead of trying to go all melee on the Allies.

  • They have discounted the Chinese involvement in the Pacific Theater...unless if they consider them two different theaters...which they don't...

  • America was making big bucks out of the war in europe untill they got their nose punched by the japs and were forced into the war.

  • Damn Propoganda!!

  • lol daily pounding :)

  • Hes weary of it ;)

  • okinawa was without doubt the costliest battle of the Pacific and people take for granted they claim that the nuclear bomb was uneccessary well okinawa would have been dwarfed if we would have invaded japan

  • why would they have to invade japan itself??

  • that was the plan before the nuclear bomb was even mentioned

  • @rotorpilot82 well man it was in plan japan needed to be invaded but okinawa was so bloody that Truman called the whole operation off. Okinawa was a blood bath just image that 50 times worse. and to anwers your qustion we drooped the A-Bombs thus ending the war, no need to invade japan. If my Grandfather and thosand other young men invaded japan i would not be alive to day. Dose that help your qustion?

  • You must have lost your mind. Everybody who know ANYTHING about the fight for the Pacific knows that Iwo Jima was the most costly in terms of dead and wounded per mile of ground taken. While yes they may have had more casualties but there where more forces on the ground and a larger total area in terms of miles.

  • @shoktroop i thought the dumbest thing he said was the Okinawa invasion was bigger than the Normandy invasion which was the largest invasion in history.

  • @mesohorny360 he said that Okinawa was bigest invasion in WW2 that has done by American army alone,D-Day was coalition invasion,Americans,Brits suported by French resistance and some parts od FF legionares that was fighting along side them from Africa all the way to France, and Americans was largest force on D-day no question about that, but at Okinawa it was only American army.

  • @P51F86F4F15F22 ya i agree, my great uncle was a truck driver under enemy fire all in pitch black night in the liberation of the phillipines, guam, and okinawa

  • @honortheallies well God bless his soul because i can about imagine what was going through his mind when he was being shot at

  • @P51F86F4F15F22 agreed, much more costly if the mainland was invaded, but the atomic bomb was a terrible event. my grandfather fought at Okinawa, he never talked much about it and when he did the stories were terrible.

  • @RyZombie619 feel bad for him but thats war for u

  • shitty load time!

  • A baked body would surely be seriously tanned

  • AWESOME GUNS

  • American Marines was so brave man

  • Actually, the battle of Okinawa was larger than the invasion of Normandy, with about 182,000 men in the US 10th Army, but only 60,000 landed in the initial invasion.

  • WOW! YOU ARE A DUMBFUCK! Normandy had 10 times as many ships and vessels. Over 200,000 Soldiers and Paratroopers initially invaded, and less than 60,000 landed on Okinawa on the initial invasion date. Yes, 183,000 Soldiers and Marines eventually fought on Okinawa. But over 3 million allied servicemen served in the European Campaigns WORTHLESS DUMBASS!

  • But it is true that the invasion of Okinawa was the largest amphibious landing in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

  • Yes, that is absolutely correct. And it is the 4th largest amphibious operation in history.

  • ya it is

  • lol

yea Normandy was the largest amphibious assault in history

okinawa isnt anything compared to it

    but okinawa did take longer

  • Okinawa lasted from April 1 1945 to June 22, 1945

Normandy lasted from June 6 1944 to August 30... The battle of Normandy was only two days longer

  • Normandy was far larger but the battle was slightly longer

  • well normady had the canadians and the brirtish too so they mean us not the allies

  • There were more Americans on the first day of Normandy compared to the first day of Okinawa. And also many times more Americans through the Normandy campaign than the Okinawa campaign.

  • My Grandpa was there

  • OKINAWA!!!

  • This guy doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about! The invasion of Okinowa wasn't even close to the Allied invasion of Normandy! There were 4 American divisions that came ashore on okinowa, when 6 American divisions were in Normandy! Not counting the British or Canadians!

  • wow I love your videos i can never find these on tv any more or online ive seen all of your vids keep uploading more 5/5

  • dam this is a good one of SHOOTOUT

  • No wonder, History channel's battle 360 called this invasion " D-day in Pacific ".

  • Okinawa was not the last battle but Manchuria was.

  • he said it was the battle beforre the atom bombs were dropped

  • Well the title says "The last battle of WW2" which is misleading.

  • @Agamemnon862 i it may sound misleading but its not okinawa was the "last great battle" in europe the garmans where all but defected. it was a mop up operation because there was no army anymore and there was little battles here and there but compared to Okinawa it was nonthing. We where still in Okinawa when Germany gave up on may 8, 1945, so yes it was the last battle of world war 2.

  • manchuria was a battle that involved the russians fighting the japs. But you could barely call that a battle as the japs were fundamentally defeated and the russians had themselves a cake walk.
