My copy of CMR 2 never had any problems with XP. I wonder how it will fare once I'll be forced to switch to 7...

It's an issue only with Nvidia GPUs and there's definitely no solution, except VMWare. Colin McRae Rally 2.0 works perfectly on an AMD GPU. Tested on 8800GTX, 9600GSO, GTX 460, GTX 560 Ti (Issues, not playable) and a HD4870, HD6970 (Works fine).

As I said before: It's not possible with a Nvidia Graphics Card.

hi, i have windows 7 and the first time gun worked great on full.But now no mather the settings/patch/no cd file the game either crashes at loading the car or goes suppper laggy when starting the stage and doesnt show the ground, wich is weird cuz the car and trees appear. ANY SOLUTIONS? Labtop Dual core , nvidia card and windows 7 home premium (32bit) with service pack 1

@FOXeye95 - got win 7 home edition service pack one and have the same issue - as soon as i start a stage after the first 2 or 3 curves the game starts lagging extreme.

got the latest VGA driver,tryed all vompsbility mods,even installed the patch what makes the whole thing more weird...after patch is installed,game does not start up and i get em wrong disc inserted.

my friend have a stationary comuter with win7 and CMR2 works, but I and my another friends have a laptop with win7 and it dont works....

Compatibility mode did not work for me, it did work however by installing XP using vmware inside win 7. However the performance was a bit too bad so it was not as fun :(

Unfortunately Colin McRae Rally 2 does not work under Windows 7; the game will only work under those versions of Windows listed on the back of the box. Due to the way the game was programmed it is not possible to patch the game to work under Windows 7, unfortunately. Sorry.

hey guys dunno if thats the issue but i did put compatibility 2000 on SETUP.EXE, then i installed and i used the crack from razor and worked like a charm. no graphic glitch!

I have done everithing and the game starts but when I start play, CMR works well only for the first 30 seconds and then it crashes...So, i bought it on PSone XD

I thought I got it to work, set compatibility to win98, 256 colors and turned off aero and it started up and started the race, but then after like 20meters it starts to fuck up the textures and the time seems so be slow-mo. :( Damn i wanted to play this game so bad. :P

Same problem, I can't play this game on my win 7, I tried all compatibility modes: xp, win 2000, 95, 98, and still wont work..Does somebody have a solution please?

I have the same problem as McGoofer, it crashes just before starting the race.

I'm running in Windows 7 Ultimate. On WinXP it worked fine...

Unfortunetly there's no solution yet. :/

Well, it all depends on hardware & software compatibilities. I think many new platforms can run CMR 2.0. Check your compatibility mode. Right-click on your CMR 2.0 shorcut, click properties, click compatibility, choose compatibility mode Windows XP or Windows 2000, click OK. Run the game.

How did U manage to run CMR 2.0 on Windows 7? :P I had tried both x64 and 32 bit editions and it's always the same- it crashes just after starting race...
