Be sure to visit antiubb (dot) com to find out how you can help stop metered billing. Canada is the ONLY country in the world that will no longer offer Unlimited internet packages!!
If you buy a game on STEAM for $5, and it's 15 GB, you will pay an additional $30 to your ISP for overage charges!! And if you lose your hard drive data, and re-download, you pay the $30 AGAIN!
Good video - This needs to end NOW... not in 90 days when the CRTC "revises" its evil plan to give our ISPs the ability to restrict our access to their web-based competitors, ie: Netflix by making them cost prohibitive to use.
Excellent letter, Rachel. For supercooled, way to be judgemental. Someone should limit your bandwidth enough so that you are discouraged from such rudeness against a person who is willing to give herself a voice regarding this issue. FYI, they said that they would look at overturning the decision in place, which does NOT mean that they will reach a new decision that we find satisfactory. This is far from over.
The solution is so simple. We should fight back and band together to DROP Bell Internet on March 1st if this goes through and go with a small ISP provider they are trying to wipe out.
Does anyone recall a few years ago when the Auto Insurance Industry cried the blues to the Government about NEEDING to raise rates due to accident claims and such and after they were imposed the Auto Industry had RECORD profits in 2007 and the CONSUMER RECEIVED NO BENEFITS!!! Now the CRTC is letting BELL DICTATE the terms of our usage for what ever rate they see fit. Will this become another abused right of industry like GAS Prices which Canadians are TAXED to death as well!!! STOP SCREW'N US!!
As far as hanksnow82's comment, it reflects his culture and knowledge your just a little man with no intelligence other then the one cell in your brain you use to masturbate looking at porn on the net.
@supercooled First if you check this broads profile you will see she is an air head . Second the Prime Minister annouced already that if the CRTC does not reverse it's self on usage billing the Consevatives will introduce legislation to over turn it .
@hanksnow82 I don't know what you're seeing in her profile that leads you to believe she is what you claim she is. You also have the benefit of hindsight -- perhaps she made this video before any tentative decision was announced. Besides, you just strike me as another typical bellicose Youtuber who have nothing better than to incite people to participate in circular debate.
@supercooled If you can't see that this chic is a nit wit by looking at her profile i will have to assume the same is true for you . I needed no hindsight to know that this political football would be kicked back with an election on the horizon . However neither you or this flakey chic relize that while this will stave off ussage based billing for now but when the service providers appear in front of the CRTC we will all get a hefty rate hike to cover those who are using a lot of bandwidth .
All excellent points Rachel. I myself am a business owner who is also very heavily dependant on Internet usage, but it seems the CRTC is forcing me to choose between being an entrepreneur and being a Canadian. I literally have to give my head a shake because I cannot believe the CRTC actually passed these regulations, it's beyond absurd, the world is innovating and competing for this I.T. tech market in Canada though our telecom duopoly want to kill it so they can make more money selling cable.
bet there will be a different limit on corporations. It is only the little guy that will be stung... Pfft... Guess what... youtube is more important to me than buying anything online... I will be using ADMUNCHER to limit bandwidth taken up by useless advertising.

Have you considered joining the Pirate Party? We are always head hunting, and it would be nice to have female input into the Party.

In Vancouver. Is there a rally here that I'm not aware of? If not, I'd consider organizing one, to keep the pressure on until all is decided.

Where in Canada are you? There are different rallies going on that you can take part in.

Once you are over your "generous cap" (as Bell claims it is), every Netflix movie will cost you an ADDITIONAL $8 ($2 per GB x 4GB for HD Movies)
