  • amazing scene

  • 0:26 - Backboob.

    Sorry, I had too.

  • Comment removed

  • So in the movie did it show the head...

  • i am from turkey i do not a lot about anne but i read that all the rumours did not prove.by the way i love natalie portman but i think natalie dormer way much better about anne boleyn.

  • actually she did terrible things like she did it with her BROTHER ummmm weird much yeah and people called Anne VERY bad names

  • @alicemarybrandon901 she didn't actually, they couldn't go through with it in the end

  • @weirdOalphax33 anne and her brother didn't even try to have sex though, there was literally no incest anywhere near that relationship. to accuse her of such a thing is actually quite laughable too because her family was incredibly religious. this woman was at the forfront of the english reformation and the bible says that incest is not only a sin but an abomination. like all the charges against her, it was completely false.

  • @alicemarybrandon901 I hope you realize this movie is based on a book with practically no basis in fact — the real Anne Boleyn was innocent of all charges. Open up a history book (or heck, even Wikipedia it) before you just accept ridiculous Hollywood soap operas about real people...

  • Scarlett's acting here is awful, can't act for toffees... Up against Natalie Portman

  • Could have done without the modern day drain pipe in the background...

  • this scene breks my heart so much, anne was a victim of her father, uncle, the king, jane parker and many others that weren't mensioned in this film

  • They executed Queen Amidala!

    Long live Trade Federation!

  • I think that Anne's death in the Tudors is a much better portrayal of it. Anne did not cry before he death but met it with dignity as is shown in the Tudors!!

  • the music is awful.

If I'd made this movie she would't have cried she would have just said her speech and died.

Also no music. just like wind

  • Scarlette is a horrible actress, no emotion what so ever in this scene, to me the woman is just a pretty face.

  • As much as I love this movie, it is not accurate and quite insulting to various historical figures, but it was a good movie nonetheless.

  • henry 8th was a cruel man, i wish it was his head being cut off on that day. killing catherine howard was the most evil because she was only a child

  • I'm no expert, but sources say that she was jolly 'til the moment of death (I would be too, if I was married to that misogynistic monster)

  • i wanted to see the blade cutting through the back of her head why did you cut that part out

  • I believe Natalie Portman should've played Katherine Howard in the Tudors, this executing scene is much more fit for Kitty's sensible personality than Anne's forceful one.

  • @QueenBrendaSIV But Catherine Howard died very bravely infact.. she wasn't said to have cried, she just looked pale and terrifed

  • Natalie Dormer is the best Anne Boleyn ever, Natalie Portman was just a good Anne Boleyn (in my oinion).

  • does anybody else notice the covered electrical cables on the wall just before she gets executed

  • @dorko225 thats a rain pipe gutter

  • why was she executed??? anyone please

  • @fullm3tal90 many of the nobles at court didn't like Anne so they began spreading rumors on how she was cheating on the King with other men, even her brother. And then when she had a miscarriage people accused her of being a witch this was when Henry decided to execute her

  • wtf? the guy at 0:49 is smiling, is he happy anne is going to die???????????

  • yeah but...Natalie Dormer was better. they were both AMAZING at playing Anne, don't get me wrong. It's just, Natalie Dormer was better,

  • @JessicaLouiseMusic I have to agree with you on this. I picture the true Anne as being more composed much to that of Natalie Dormer. It was accustomed at that time during their final speech to confess their wrong doing and ask for forgiveness. Anne did no such thing. Proving she was truly innocent. RIP most beloved queen and know your daughter Elizabeth was the greatest monarch England ever had.

  • Anyone notice the 'B' was the wrong way round?

  • very sad :( Helena bonham carter also did a very good portrayal as Anne boleyn, and as much as I like Eric bana I preferred ray win stone's performance as henry to his

  • this movie was so sad D:

  • And afterwards, she picks up her head and goes to shoot "Black Swan." Busy girl.

  • i know she was a bitch in the movie, but man did i start crying when she got beheaded

  • the movie is terrible but this scene is quite good. But I still prefer the version from The Tudors.

  • @nomorespooks - you wouldn't know how to fuck her with your half-an-inch if she was alive or dead.

  • this scene is a LOT different from what REALLY happened, but Natalie probably just did what she was told to do, I still think she was great at acting in this... Anne was actually really brave and well composed before she was killed, if you want a better idea of how it was really like, watch the one from THE TUDORS!!!!!

  • I'm talking about the scene not the whole movie! Read my other post below!

  • I like her as a actress but she did a horrible job at this scene. ANNE was extremely brave n didn't cry. Yes she kept turning her head to see when it was time. But she was shacking. She was distracted by the Swordsman so she looks the other way @ strike. Ann Boleyn went out bravely. Tudors did the most historical version of her execution. That is my opinion. Other have there own. I saw basically all Anne's execution scenes. TUDORS has mostly every historical fact. Thank you..my opinion ..open

  • @QueenzFletch You have to remember that this is a movie and actors follow script and direction from director. If director says cry, you cry. I still think it captured the feeling of what Ann may have really been feeling inside

  • I prefer Natalie Portman as Anne. Much more convincing that Dormer

  • Comment removed

  • Dormer is still better...

  • @nomorespooks Not when she's missing her fucking head

  • @nomorespooks you sir are wrong in the head

  • This movie would have been better if

1.) They didn't try to make it into a soap opera

2.) They had a better King Henry VIII, he was supposed to be a red-head for God's sake and Eric Bana's performance was bland.

3.)They made Mary's character more realistic, she was known to be much more sexual and less doe-eyed.

  • @SuperChivasLover I think eric bana played a more realistic henry than the tiny henry on the tudors. jonathan rhys myers did a good job but he couldnt be further from the real henry physically.

  • @itskayleighbaby actually it has been proved that Henry was a healthy athletic young man when he met Anne. It wasn't probably until after Jane Seymore's death when he started eating and gaining weight :)

  • @21karo12 Oh, my point was that Jonathan doesn't look anything like Henry. Henry was a ginger. Eric Bana is pretty athletic too so thats not what I meant :)

  • @brownblooddrops24 this movie sucks.

  • oh my god the first time i saw this scene i cried my eyes out. great movie though scarlett and natalie did an amazing job.

  • I'll be honest with you people, I much prefer the Tudors version of this scene which was subtle, underplayed, and conveyed a deep sense of tragedy. Natalie Dormer conveyed a fear of her own without ludicrous sobbing. I laugh at how dramatic and over the top this Hollywood version is.

  • @Nelsonhojax15 I agree that The Tudors version is much better. I love Natalie Dormer's portrayal of Anne Boleyn and I personally think it's the best of any that I've seen (which is kinda a lot given that I'm a Tudors history nut).

  • of course you would cry if you were about to get your head chopped off, and there was no way to escape.... you had just walked your last steps, walked willingly to your own death.

  • I never liked the movie Natalie could've been a brilliant Anne not as good as Natalie Dormer but still good! Argh Hollywood is so annoying

  • Never showed the executioner asking for the sword to distract her, and according to historical records she was calm and regal at the end. However when has Hollywood ever respected history?

  • Most people did cry and scream on their executions, but Anne was leaving behind a daughter so she had to demonstrate courage for her, which is what I believe she did it for because as history documents Anne praised Henry before her execution. Natalie did do an amazing job with the role she was given and she is an amazing actress, but this isn't Anne no more than the role of Mary was Mary Boylen who was known as the "Great Prostitute" for her promiscuios behaviour.

  • oh c'mon let's face it history is not really as accurate as you think...who said anne didn't cry or wasn't scared?did u witness it or just read it in the book...these r real people we r talking about..try to visualize yourself in her position would u b happy and embrace death in such situation....i don't think so

  • I cannot believe they had courage to do such cruelty to a Lady....

  • This was well done, but the one on the Tudors was better.

  • i love the movie because of the beautiful scenery and the dresses. but it's so far from being historically accurate- it makes me cringe.

i especially dislike the fact that they turned anne boleyn into a sissy and her relationship with henry intro a short-lived fling.

  • so they behead her....and then shoot the poor girl. as if she wasn't DEAD enough or something. damn...

  • @xxladybug94 they didn't shoot her that was the cannons for a celebration of her death. people nver seem to mind cutting of the heads of little girls. do me a favor..don't rply this comment please just don't ask why....

  • Watching this movie makes my skin crawl. If you were truly a fan of the real Anne Boleyn, you should know that this movie is far from accurate. Philippa Gregory's book is insulting and far from true, but this movie is just the icing on the cake. Anne's death was documented and on no account did they say that Anne cried right before she was executed. To portray that in this movie is insulting to her death. Kudos to Natalie, however, for being an overall great actress.

  • @michelleelizabethx how ever the book pulls u into it and is well written it makes u want to research her and find out more about her then u knew before but i agree it is far from the truth

  • @bitchkitty96 Doomed Queen Anne by Carolyn Meyer is really good and much closer to the truth. Though I have to say the costuming in this movie was fabulous.

  • @michelleelizabethx Well, how do you know there were no tears? Just because they didn't write it? Anyway, doesn't matter to me. Movies are never "real" - and I greatly admire the job Natalie Portman (and Scarlett Johansson, who I don't like in most other movies!) did here. I only watch this movie in english - it's so beautiful speach!

  • @michelleelizabethx You.are.so.right! If somebody would deny this simple fact, that person is just defending the actors and their performances! (even though it's written EVERYWHERE that Anne died without any tears. She was rather brave and strong. She even joked about her execution:`I heard the executioner is very good and I have a little neck.´) There were a lot of witnesses. I thought Anne Boleyn's death in "The Tudors" and "Henry VIII 2003" was better portrayed.

  • Comment removed

  • I guess,it is a bad idea of her death...as i watch this explit from a movie, i havent seen...but they shuodl better prepare at least this scene...i do not think Ana Boleyn was such clumsy, dawdler at the day of her execution. There r chronickles for it ever...but as Natalie Dormer showed a real spirit of Anne Boleyn, I believe it was so, cuz she is british. And anyway, these movie makers should read about the entire execution more...the executioner (to cut her head easily) made it surprisingly

  • Natalie is so amazing with her emotions. I believe her acting as Anne Boleyn was wayyyyyy better than that of Nina Sayers. Anyone agree? her ability to cry and break down on a dime leaves me breathless....

  • *sigh*

Mary wasn't even AT the execution; Anne had banished her from court. And LOL at the insinuation that Mary raises Elizabeth in the country!

  • If I was gonna get my head chopped off, I'm pretty sure I would have died of cardiac arrest before the blade even touched my neck.

  • @jessikagurl101 same here :/

  • @barbiedoll811 totally agree with you especially at the end when elizabeth lives with the sister wtf :S but i am a big fan of the tudors lmaoo despite their historical inaccuracies aswell

  • why did they kill the babe of this movie? damn Natalie is so hot she deserved to live. switch roles and make Natalie play Mary instead.

  • should the executioner be wearing a mask and ann being blind folded that was really happened and she was saying lord have mersy one my soul i command it to over and over again until her was was chopped off. sad to watch.

  • @barbiedoll811 Totally agree with you. I dislike the angles Gregory brings to her versions of history.

  • @coconutblondie Obviously, we would. But, historically, it was well documented that Anne herself did not. People who spoke with her in her last hours as well as people who were actually at the execution said that there was an air of peace about her. Natalie crying as well as the director allowing her to cry in a scene depicting an actual event was just the result of a lack of homework.

  • @barbiedoll811 - Oh, not at all! I thought you were just asking and I wanted to give you some authors to check out. AB remains a figure of great controversy. Some biographes like Antonia Fraser have a positive spin, while some of the ones I mention are pretty rough on her. The truth is probably somewhere in between.

  • @barbiedoll811 - try William Roper (More's son in Law), Mackintosh and Sullivan, Eric Ives recently, many more. According to them, she suggested her father, brother, and cousin as jury members to insure More's conviction, and her dislike of Fischer and any clerical opposition to the Oath of Succession is also well-dpcumented.

  • this movie was so sad :( i can't imagine watching my sister get executed especially after being promised that her life would be spared

  • I would say Can Natalie Portman get to the end of something wothout dying but she survives V for Vendetta and I don't know if she died at the end of Black Swan

Either way, she's my fav Actress

  • I hate when people say that Natalie did a horrible job because she CRIED. Would you cry if you were about to die?? Exactly; Anne couldn't have been fearless all the time!

  • @coconutblondie1

But it was reported that Anne did NOT cry!

  • @coconutblondie1 I agree with you, however people say it was documented that anne was actually in high spirits at the time of her death, joyed that her suffering was to be over. She was calm, cool, and collected. but that's not natalie's fault, it's the screenwriter's

  • @coconutblondie1 People don't like Natalie Portman's portrayal because it's not historically accurate to the real Anne Boleyn's execution and as a result it's insulting to her. The Tudors got it more accurate in that she was prepared and went to her death with immeasurable strength and dignity, that's not to say she probably didn't FEEL terrified internally, but no she did NOT fall apart on the scaffold, she was FAR too proud for that. Read "The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn," and you'll see.

  • @EnglishRose719 - Exactly. Of all the Anne Boleyn movies, this one is the weakest historically, and this the worst execution scene of all. There was much to dislike about the real AB, including an ambition unusually ruthless for one so relatively young (or has it been forgotten that she helped engineer the beheading of More and Fischer?) - but give her her due: she faced her death with great courage, an outstanding speech - and no shaking, flinching, or tears.

  • @CompVid101 Don't forget More was no saint either - as he was quite prepared to have those who did not believe in his version of God burned at the stake. Anne was not more ruthless than any of her contempories. Roper is not an unbiased source. Ambition is not necessarily a bad thing (unless you judge her differently because of her sex) and Henry was thinking of divorce before Anne came along. Her treatment of Mary was, however, unnecessary and a disgrace to her.

  • @coconutblondie1 Well, the real Anne didn't cry on the scaffold, so technically it was historically inaccurate...like so much else in this film.

  • @coconutblondie1 and i were impressed over her crying when i first saw this movie :O

  • @coconutblondie1 ut ann idn't cry she was very calm when she was being beheaded.

  • @coconutblondie1 Because in real life Anne didn't cry.

  • @coconutblondie1 you're right.Trembling and crying is so much more realistic than standing in silence with a heroic face :|

  • @coconutblondie1 Anne Boleyn's courage, dignity and calm when facing imminent death was so remarkable that even those who detested her had to give credit to her for that. Anne Boleyn crying and shaking does not fit into this. But actually this does not matter, because The Other Boleyn Girl is full of historical inaccuracies anyhow.

  • @coconutblondie1 Except she DIDN'T panic when she was up there. She was quite calm and died bravely. Some people have been reported to calm instantly and accept death. The same happened for Katherine Howard and Marie Antoinette.

  • @coconutblondie1 Except that it is very well documented that the real Anne Boleyn was very well-composed and met her death with great dignity, as commended by many who observed her execution. Portman has acted some very convincing and sympathy-compelling roles but this, while one of them, does 'not' pay tribute to real character of Anne Boleyn. This, like many historical dramas, represents a failure to value historical authenticity 'over' drama for the sake of drama.

  • @coconutblondie1 Exactly. If I were about to be beheaded I would have not been half as poised as she was. Probably would have shat myself!

  • @coconutblondie1 Natalie Dormer who played Anne Boleyn in The Tudors series done a better job

  • how was Natalie Portman NOT nominated for an Academy award for this role? She should have been. If she was, they should have sent in this scene because this is a great showcase of her talent. Best Anne Boleyn ever!!!

  • @stardusth2o Totally agree with u...

  • @stardusth2o True, she was awesome but some other of aspects of the movie were not as awesome making her look bad.

  • @stardusth2o Probably because it wasn't her best work. I am a big Natalie fan and was so excited when I heard she was cast as Anne Boleyn because she not only has the acting chops but her appearance matches perfectly with historical accounts of Anne. I was disappointed with the movie in general but I recognize that many of the faults I found with this portrayal are more the fault of the writers and director than the actors.

Mary Boleyn taking Elizabeth away and raising her? Seriously?! Um, no.

  • @stardusth2o nope, that would be natalie dormer.

  • @FantageFan13 No, Miss Portman slayed Miss Dormer. If she had better material in this film, I'm certain she would've been nominated for an Oscar or Golden Globe. Just because Portman cried and Dorman didn't doesn't mean she wasn't as good as Dormer. Her acting was simply better than Miss Dormer's.

  • @stardusth2o ... shouldn't the "best Anne Boleyn ever" be a reflection of the 'actual' Anne Boleyn.. ?? Natalie played a very convincing character, if one distraught and sobbing was what her director expected of her. The 'actual' Anne Boleyn, however, is known to have met her death with MUCH more dignity and composure, as commended by many who 'witnessed' her execution. I like Natalie in many of her films, but still have to agree that Natalie Dormer played the much more 'authentic' Boleyn.

  • @l30uNtyHuNtreZ Yes, I know how Anne actually went. But Natalie's acting is stronger than Miss Dormer's. I love Miss Dormer as well though.

  • @l30uNtyHuNtreZ it is fair to say that could have been embelished---as much of history is--since the people actually loved her and not so much the gluttenous 300 pound Syphallis infected king who turned quickly into a tyrant in just a few years of being corwned.

  • @stardusth2o

natalie dormer in the tudors has been so much better as Anne Boleyn

  • Natalie Portman made such a great Anne Boleyn.Between her and Genevieve Bujold I think those two were by far the best!NO ONE has yet captured the complexity of Anne as well as them. This clip is so sad!

  • The bit where she unties the the necklace is CLEAR TRUTH she only had eight fingers and two thumbs. Not an extra one like that guy in Princess Bride

  • @chocolatefountain95 I KNOW!!!!! everyone says that Anne had extra fingers and that she was ugly and had a huge wen on her neck. But now see why would THAT entice the king? I'm sure he wouldn't be pursuing the ugliest girl in the kingdom. No anne was beautiful with a beautiful singing voice and a razor sharp mind. RIP queen anne.

  • lol sorry looking at scarlet's face here makes me laugh

  • POOR NATALIE

  • good, Natalia make much money by making movies

    greetings
