  • She´s one of the best singers of the world! She´s so talented...

  • love her songs never going to forget her songs girls just wanna have fun

  • my first night without got me chillssssssssss i love her to death

  • Cyndi Lauper longest note live that i can find is 16 to 17 seconds. The song named is at last.

  • Koo Koo Kachoo

  • faltou all throught the night q ela fica 12s + longa, mais Cyndi Lauper possui extensão de 4 oitavas, sendo considerada Soprano leggero,

    maravilhosa.

  • Adoro ela mas ao vivo não tem 4 oitavas nao nunca tirou esses agudos em Whistle e a nota mais longa dela ao vivo é em I drove all night com 13 segundos, in All throught the night ao vivo nao tira nem 10 s. Amo as músicas antigas dela legais demais

  • I KNEW IT!!! I knew when you were mine would be on it!! I just knew it. I love her sweet voice.

  • where´s Everybody's got an angel from?

  • It's a Blue Angel song, the band she was in before her breakthrough as a solo artist. The album is called Blue Angel as well, released in 1980.

  • amazing....

    best female singer ever!

  • Jak się nazywa ta pierwsza piosenka co leci? Cynduś?

  • Look up (on here) Cyndi singing "River Deep" with Tom Jones..4:33 in is crazy!

  • very interesting! there's not doubt that she can sing and has a very unique voice!

  • when she came out, she was a Lyric/Spinto Soprano. She was belting F#5 to G#5 like crazy. Now she's just a Dramatic Soprano. Even at an older age she could still belt a G5very easily. She has in 2004.

So true, she proved that when she san Lady Marmalade with Patti not too long ago. she was not some bubblegum princess, Cyndi could HIT HIGH NOTES with great POWER.

  • You are so correct. She was actually a Full 1st Soprano/Lyric Coloratura. Now she is a Dramatic Soprano.

  • whats the diffrence.

  • @highnote32 shes not a dramatic soprano now :S her voice is too light to be a dramamtic anything, but she is incredible!

  • what about 1:52 on this video, that is crazy high!

  • Its when you were mine from shes so unusual

  • when she came out, she was a Lyric/Spinto Soprano. She was belting F#5 to G#5 like crazy. Now she's just a Dramatic Soprano. Even at an older age she could still belt a G5 very easily. She has in 2004.

  • amazing info you provide, thank you.

  • yes her voice is amazing, high strong and intense.

anyway, her highest notes are often live: Dancing with a stranger recorded in Chile in 89-the Immigrant song cover for 94Taratata. The live versions of Broken Glass from the tour in 94-95. highest ever maybe is when she sings 'Where are you' on Boy Blue, on record and live. and the cover of I shall be released from 91, amazing notes- and Keep on Knocking in a Blue Angel bootleg from 81, ultrasound!

  • If middle c is c4 (see wikipedia, scientific pitch notation), in the Boy Blue on youtube I hear the word "where" (at the end) as an a6. So, you are probably right that this is Cyn's highest note live. Highest recorded to my knowledge is bflat6 in Lies, on this site. For fun, if you will, check my ear using a keyboard, and tell me if I am right.

  • Hey! remeber that she has more than 5 octaves!

    =]!!!

  • It's a great idea to put this kind of video. However, there are other songs that she can blow the top of the tops!

Like: Baby workout and When you were mine ( you can see the whistles), river deep mountain high, money TBa version!

  • love Baby Workout! I'd add her version of Carey to this, Shine (especially live), Midnight Radio and those high notes she hit in Say a Prayer. ... actually, hell, just about every song qualifies!

  • thx for posting. i will refer ppl here when they doubt her talent and 4 octave range (someone always tells me im full of BS regarding her range). AWESOME POST!!!

  • If middle C is C4 (see wiki, sci.pitch ntatn.)I hear the high note of Lies as Bflat6. Highest note in Baby Workout at Zenith (live) Aflat6. Chkg out lowest note Cyn ever recorded found I Drove All Night video, the lowest note of which is Eflat4. So, I get 2 octaves & 8 semitones, or 2 2/3 octaves, a very long range! Has she recorded lower than the lowest note in Drove, or higher than the highest note of Lies? Well, 4, 5, or 2 2/3, Cyn is one of the greats of all time.

  • Thanks for this explanation. Very, very interesting.... What about that note in "When You Were Mine" that can be listened here at 1:51...?

  • If middle C is C4, that note at 1:51, as I hear it, is E6, quite a bit lower than the Bflat6 in Lies. You know, I am not even sure that is Cyndi at 1:51, but anyway, Cyndi or synthesizer, it's an E6 to my ear. Check it out yourself on a keyboard.

  • Thanks for putting this together. Her voice is amazing. Fame wasn't important to her, so thank god she kept going and giving us great music.

  • My all-time FAVORITE song by her is "Shine".

  • I LOVE Cyndi Lauper -- think she should have been more successful than she has been!

  • yeah-I know what ya mean but she is still VERY sucessful and she will always be fine she has PLENTY of money

  • Hotness.

  • Great post. In vocalist's terms Cyn can still reach

E-Flat above High C. Four Octaves to be sure.

Some could do it consistently in their prime.

    Nina Hagen-Lene Lovich-Kate Bush certainly

come to mind. And with undiminshed emotional range.

  • It's great! Good job! Thank you so much!

    I'm very lucky!

  • love the video

  • DIVA!
