1998 Windstar engine blow

Our Windstar was great. Never any problems until somebody hit it and totalled it. Every Chevy I drive has problems. My work truck 2009 Chevy Express van blew a transmission at 8000 miles and has had many other problems as with the other two we bought.

Got to love the Windstar I have 4 at this time 1.1995,Got for1600 let a friend use it and she broke the blew and kept driving and blew the motor, 2 1996,got it for 200 got it for parts and got to look at it better and it looked in good shape just little tlc so 100 and day later it was back on the road ran it for 2 years then tranny went out ,3 1995 got for 150 but it was just parts it was in great shape but the person i got it from had no title so its just a doner 4.now i just got a 1886 for 425

That blowed up real good!!! Mines leaking coolant from the head gasket issue and the tranny doesn't shift right (after a stop )due to the torque converter 1st gear issue, and the brakes aren't antilock anymore due to the computer module going bad, and the driver side window gets stuck, but at 100,000 miles it aint blowed up yet and shes still on the road, and at merge points I floor her cause I don't care!!!!

those windstars were not that terrible, the engines were virtually indestructible (with oil and coolant in them) the trannies just werent that great. The 3.0Ls in those, tauruses, rangers and aerostars were known to last in upwards of 350k. My ranger has 301k and i romp on it. Not to push any buttons, just some factual information to go with the video, 4 min is impressive. :)

The Transmsission isnt the problem, its that Ford used the same tranny from the 3.0, without any modifacations. The Windstar is a great van, we had a 96 3.8 that was in great shape, we just hit two deer and totaled it.
