@adrianocounter Everyone needs start somewhere. Every movie star and great directors (no, i'm talking about you, Michael Bay) didn't start off with a bang. This film is an example of such. I guess that after people saw this junk, they probably had no expectations of what films the director would bring up in the future.

He was hired in 1980 to what was essentially a scam where the Italian producer would recruit young, first-time American (although he is Canadian) directors to get funding from the studios, then fire the director and do the movie himself. Cameron spent maybe a week shooting anything, but his name is still on the picture since he couldn't afford to legally fight it at the time (this was before Terminator).

I've also noticed the story changes over the years, probably thanks to Cameron himself, who is admittedly a bit of a publicity hog

@JoshuaChristopher - Actually, Ovidio fired the original direct because of his attitude and Cameron was promoted from SFX to Director. Cameron messed up the filming. He went over schedule, missed shots so the scene wouldn't cut together and was sending the film massively over-budget. He was fired because he did a bad job. The funding was already in place from Warner Bros and they asked Ovidio to come and produce and Ovidio put up 70% of the budget himself. He was just protecting his investment.

Which version of the Movie is this? Is this the American DVD? The Irish/British DVD releases and VHS does not contain that dramatic music played over this scene. It works better if you ask me, but there is more footage in the Irish VHS and DVD releases.
