@sethzky77 i personally think there is for most curries.. just saute a bunch of onions with garlic and ginger until browned then chopped tomatoes until it's a bit drier then blend this.. u can freeze this and take it out a bit at a time like i do
Nice recipe. Sheba, next time you make this, try adding puree or very very fine paste of 2 of your raw shrimps while you are cooking your masala mixture. Adding this shrimp paste to your masala will make the gravy in any shrimp dish SUPER flavorful - I highly recommend it.
I want to say thank you for ALL your recipes!! I've cooked most of what you share and it's great! i'm white and my husband is Pakistani so I LOVE LOVE LOVE to see his face and his friends face when they try my curry and briyanis and mango lassi!! hahaaa!! it's great! i appreciate you sharing and hope to see many more recipes! I would like a recipe for chicken jalfrezi if you have one... I use the Shan packet but would love to make from scratch! thanks
sister your recipe is good...now on the same recipe add 6 to 8 Bay Leaves (tez patta),2 table spoons whipped yogurt and avoid corn then see how it tastes...yummmmm...i bet u will love this.
Saw a new way of making the masala. Usually after oil separates the tomatoes and onion then we put in the salt, haldi etc.etc. Alsi I hae never used pressure to make masala.
great recipe.. simple ingredients and easy to follow through... I love it. thanks for sharing

@LovingBundleOfHate thanks but don't you need to add some curry powder or something?
sethzky77 1 month ago
@sethzky77 i usually just put some tumeric, chilli powder, cumin and coriander powder.. to me it's the same almost for all of them

Sarah,
Thx - I could totally picture what you said.
I will put the Jalfrezi on my list - not sure when I can get to it.

@sfehmi Hey this curry dish looks great but why do you use olive oil? does it change the flavor much? as usually i use butter or sunflower oil.
jameslee445 1 year ago
@jameslee445 - It does not change flavor, however, it is good for your health. You can certainly cook it in sunflower oil.

i suggest you shud try using badshah brand or everest brand masalas. They taste better. just my opinion!
