@lewishoolbrook: This commercial was 1984. Times were different then.
I tried Bernatellos for the first time. Thin crust, decent amount of cheese and fixings. Better than Red Baron, Jacks, and Totinos, not as good as Tombstone. If you see it on sale, try it. UND DAS IST ALL DER PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW!
I would not be buying the pizza where all of the workers on the line put on cheese without gloves...just sayin'. But hey, if it's good enough for the Baron....
I thought he might like Red Baron pizza even more. I met the baron years ago and he was as nice as can be. He was anything but scary. He was kind and considerate, gentle and very funny. He reminded me of Ox Baker, mean and loud on the wrestling program, but a super fellow in person. One of the true greats!
I once had the Baron as a substitute teacher when I was in 4th grade (1991). Sadly, only one other kid in my class besides me recognized who he was. We both got his autograph after the school day and my buddy asked him if wrestling was real. Of course this was back in the good old days so after handing the autographs back he smiled back with a sly, slightly intimidating grin and said, "It is to me". Pure awesome.
I remember feeling pretty star-struck. Video does no justice to the size of his hands. To let you know what kind of guy he is, about 8 years later he was signing autographs at an event and I had mentioned the above story. He just said "yeah, I remember you". More than likely he didn't, but just the fact that befriends everyone he meets is amazing. Truly an icon and I certainly wish more celebrities (of varying degrees obviously) acted like him.
@lars1299 Dude...thanks for sharing that story, too cool! (even without talking to him, having the Baron as a substitute teacher would have made it worth going)

Some guy told him he'd rather have a Totino's. Baron gave him the claw and wouldn't let go until he was pulled off.
