great job except, Joshua's movements seemed unreal to me. they were a little stiff and seemed rather slow (i.e. 0:42, 1:00)

but it took me a second watch through to really realize this because the first time i was overtaken by what i was seeing and wasn't examining it as much as i am now (i always watch movies twice before i say anything about them.

The kid actually is Japanese. The mother is. Just like in the story. And the father is white. Just like in the story. Mixed kids don't always look like the ethnicity that they actually are. And... we would have hunted for a more "Asian" looking baby, but we didn't anticipate people putting too much thought into that.

This is an excerpt. In the full version of the story, Kaiyo, who is obsessed with Taylor, asked him to be with her several times before, only to be declined again and again. And when she slices her throat, it wasn't so much that Taylor didn't see it coming. He just never had the desire for her to kill herself. No one wants to see anyone they care about kill themselves... unless you're weird like that.
