not bad, do you need some kind of special software to make the lightsabers? on most programs I've used it's nigh impossible to do that.

There's no real perfect way of doing it. Even the way the pros do it takes a long time. I have done 3 methods: 1: Export your video as a "filmstrip" and edit it in photoshop, which is very tedious, 2: Use Adobe After Effects to animate and mask a shape over the area the saber should be, 3: Using a 3D animation program such as Maya or Lightwave, track a 3d model of a saber blade over the footage and mask it where it needs to show up.

Yeah, it does take pretty long! I've used two methods both of which take just as long. I've studied about professional methods and it turns out I'm am doing it pretty much the same. There is no way getting around the long hours. I guess that's why they get paid so much!

You need Adobe After Effects. Go frame by frame creating a white shape for the lightsaber in every frame. Then apply an outer glow with a threshold of 0 and a slight gaussian blur. Search Google for a tutorial. I would direct you to mine but my site is down.

This is in no way intended to be a something to be compared with other "duels" out there. This was my first attampt at lightsaber effects, and had no background story! It is just a test with an effect!
