Cannot believe I'm hearing this. I haven't heard this in YEARS! Was always my favorite. S. Clarke is definitely 'all up in there.' Good stuff - thanks for sharing. Yes!!!
I used to have this album - yes, album - I'm old (LOL!) THIS ONE RIGHT HERE?? It was one of my most favorites. It's so multi-facted, you don't know which parts to love best. I love all of it. Thanks for sharing!
One of the two greatest jazz-rock fusion songs of all time! The other is Rocks, Pebbles and Sand by Stanley Clarke who also features on this song too...
If you see Rodney Franklin, you tell him I was able to meditate on the creator and all that the things the creator has provided for this planet. From the rising of the sun to the going down of it, I am greatful. This songs reminds me to worship in spirit and truth. Thank You Rodney Franklin and Stanley. From Guitar Player Theodore J Diaz Jr.

Yeah Stanley Clarke and Rodney did this. This is the mistro, for real and bad as he was we should all write the music ind and get them to produce his music. You know how they do their artist if they don't do what they want, write and ask for it! Power to the talented. Love you Rodney
Wow! I had forgotten how fantastic this "suite" was! I used to love this LP and I may have to dig it out of storage! It's a pity that none of Rodney Fanklin's Columbia albums are in print - at least not in the US.
Even though this didn't get much airplay, I think this is Rodney's best work. I especially like from 5:17 to the end. But the whole thing is a masterpiece!
I still have and cherish this album. It was my wake up song. Also the all time classic "Song for you" is on this Album. I knew there was a reason why to keep my lp's.
Unfortunately, this album was never released on CD. This is such an incredible album, and Learning To Love is such a great song. Takes me back to 1983 when I first heard this album. Now, I just have to make an MP3 of the album..
thanks man for posting this.i had this on a cassette and i played it to death and the tape finally broke.I;m still trying to find it this was on of rodney's best!
This was my favorite album of his. He really is a fine musician and he was reaching beyond the ordinary on this one. People could not put it in a catagory and it did not get air time because of that.
Outstanding! I thought everyone had forgotten about this piece along with "That's the way I feel bout your love". I have this album collecting dust in my attic along with Bill Wolfer, Azymuth, and Bobby McFerrin's moon dance.
