  • I know nothing of this Kata but I really like and can relate to the movements. The application is really original and look very feasible in a real life situation.

  • @MrWintersho Yes mate you're wrong.

  • Maybe i am wrong but there seem to be lots of Wing Tsun elements in this Kata.

  • Asai sensei is a real fighter ,he Karate is inspiring, but this is the first time i see this Kata, does any one knows any thing about it?? I saw Asai once in Amman and I noteced that he likes to come up with his own seqeuances , is it one of it??

  • Hi everyone,

I've seen several of these videos of Asai sensei now (both traditional shotokan kata and his own) on YouTube. Does anyone know where they come from? I'd love to get a set of all the videos if they can be found anywhere.

    Thanks!

  • @sundancejack15 Last I saw them on ebay for $400, I'm really treasuring my copy now!

  • @chevytruckjoe

Thanks for the info! I'll keep an eye out for them...

  • muito bom, genial

  • This wonderful Kata, was created by the Sensei Asai?

  • that's right

  • It's so hard for self-learning !!!!

  • Geez; Shotokan that I like...! ;-)

  • Wonderful.

  • what style of karate is that?

  • Its Shotokan karate. Part of a series of katas - this is 'water hands', most people know Unsu 'cloud hands'.

  • he's so relaxed when he's doing the kata!!

    unreal

  • You're supposed to be relaxed when doing kata. Your kime or focus comes at the end of the technique as it strikes your opponent.

  • I know ...

Question for you...do you drop and tense your lats when striking????

  • Yes, and upon the start of the tsuki when the punch is in chamber the pecs are tight. The punch or technique is thrown quickly and the koshi (hips or core strength) rotates and the kime comes as you hit through your target.

  • the strike is before the ending.

  • this is freaking awesome!!!

  • Nice video. Thanks for posting it.

  • Bunkaï de très haut niveau .Merci pour votre post !

  • I love this kata

  • Another amazing kata by Master Asai. Though I am currently only a seventh kyu in JKS it would be wonderful to learn this great kata in the future.

  • Asai Tetsuhiko sensei, 10th dan, who was the chief instructor of the JKS (Japan Karate Shotorenmei, shotokan).

  • The true and only shotokan master after mr. Nakayama!

  • Who is this Sensei?

  • Now this is Martial Arts at its finest. Thank you for posting this :)
