  • I believe the straight arm is used to accelerate the racquet's head speed. When doing so, you are accelerating with the buttcap of the racquet toward the ball vs. sideways. I would recommend this motion to any player. Its a motion that you should not think about but rather work on hitting the balls more infront and pronation timing!

  • @iuij39IIII28j2i is it harder on the elbow to do this?

  • @hi10spro Not really, the key is fluidity. A slight tuck/bent in elbow will follow your hips... and extend outward with the buttcap of the racquet toward the ball... and pronating when you hit it. The only thing I feel is the strings hitting the ball ( until i mishit ) lol. It sounds complicated but it should be a natural and smooth motion.

  • @iuij39IIII28j2i for me the straight arm puts a lot of stress on my elbow

  • @hi10spro It's not for everyone... but I'm willing to record myself and have you look at it!

  • @hi10spro Oh, I use an extreme western grip.

  • Gary, did you record this yourself? What camera did you use? What editing software did you you use?

    Thanks
