  • I read many of the comments. I feel he same way as all of them. Steve was a unique talent voice and person. To hear him and see him again reminded me of his influence on me!!

He is part of all of us.

  • Thanks Steve, you're still showing us how it's done

  • Can's God bring him back?

  • How could I have missed Steve for so long? He's incredible!

  • What a wonderful discovery! Hands down one of the best solo performances ever! Wow!

  • he wrote this song in 1977 and here we are in 2011 and the message still holds true

  • Love the version he did with John Prine.

  • No better place on the planet to be then than in Chicago and the entertainment kept everybody warm in the Winters. The live tape from WFMT's "Midnight Special," sung by Steve and the incredible talents always brings tears, humor and passion all in one tune. We miss him and those special times. And time continues to pass as the memories dwindle in our rear view mirrors. Thanks to all!

  • scewball angel poets rarer than hen's teeth r.i.p. steve goodman. thanks trans for that infectious display of genuine.

  • God have mercy, how I miss Steve. What a songwriter AND performer.

  • Could you upload the previous song performed? (Probably "Banana republics", because he plays a piece of outro of it then says 'this is in G too')

  • Oh, yeah! Thanks so much for sharing this. Good video, good sound, and a great performance. It really captures how electric and energetic he was on stage. Quite a number of the audience in the video seem to not really get it. Oh, well. Even thought he was sick basically most of his career, he always seemed to be the one having the most fun. It was awfully infectious.

  • Why didn't we all sing this in Dec 1999? We blew a chance for some fun, some reflection and another chance to immortalize the immortal Steve Goodman. All over this world...

  • I dig the pro keds!

  • god, I miss him

  • WAY ahead of his time!

  • This is Great song writing!

  • I wish I had a copy of the rest of this concert.

I love how energetic he is and was such a great performer.

  • Never thought i would be here, but i miss the the 20th century. The new millenium sucks ass. My favorite Goodman song.

  • He's simply the best there ever was!

  • The best I ever saw perform live. Gone way too soon.

  • Steve was inimitable. As a guitarist, lyricist, performer. It's so cool there's a medium for sharing his gift into the 21st century.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this sooooooooo much man !!!!!

  • I am glad to find Steve Goodman fans out there!!! I was the only person I knew who bought his music in the 70s and now 24 years after his death he has legions of fans. Too bad they can't reissue his albums - or maybe they have and I just don't know???

  • @cliftongal51 go to Oh Boy Records, John Prine's company there you will find cds and dvd.

  • @cliftongal51 I'm 34 and been listenin' to Steve since the day I was born. My grandmother was a die-hard Cubs fan and was singing a song of his the moment I was born. :-D I'm pretty sure it was "Lincoln Park Pirates" but I'm not certain. Growing up in Chicago with a family full of music nuts, it's hard to not know Steve Goodman....lol!

  • @PampersPete

Probably the "Dying Cub Fan's Last Request"

  • @ChiTownLiz It very well could've been that as well. I've been meaning to ask my mother since I wrote that a week ago.

  • loooool @ tha man at 3.59, put some effort into your clapping dude !!!!! :P

  • @hawleyhawley2007 yeh as much effort as i did readin ur bullshit comment

  • This is fantastic even though it is over. It is too bad it is with the way things are in the world now. Steve is awesome. We all sure do miss him.

  • I cant imagine what he would be singing about today. What a shame the world lost him so early.

  • GOD BLESS STEVE! He truly was one of our national Treasures, and i miss him so much. How he sang"My Old Man" without crying,I'll never know!He could make you smile, laugh and cry at the same time!We will never see anyone like him ever again..
