I read many of the comments. I feel he same way as all of them. Steve was a unique talent voice and person. To hear him and see him again reminded me of his influence on me!!
hey if you know and love steve please send me a facebook request cuz i gotta ton of fb friends and none of em even know steve goodman... tommy tevepaugh its a baby pic of me as my profile pic.. just want sum1 on my friends list that likes steve goodman is all... lol
No better place on the planet to be then than in Chicago and the entertainment kept everybody warm in the Winters. The live tape from WFMT's "Midnight Special," sung by Steve and the incredible talents always brings tears, humor and passion all in one tune. We miss him and those special times. And time continues to pass as the memories dwindle in our rear view mirrors. Thanks to all!
Oh, yeah! Thanks so much for sharing this. Good video, good sound, and a great performance. It really captures how electric and energetic he was on stage. Quite a number of the audience in the video seem to not really get it. Oh, well. Even thought he was sick basically most of his career, he always seemed to be the one having the most fun. It was awfully infectious.
Why didn't we all sing this in Dec 1999? We blew a chance for some fun, some reflection and another chance to immortalize the immortal Steve Goodman. All over this world...
Damn! Everytime I remember seeing Steve dancing tears roll down my face...I'm not ashamed say...rest softly my friend, the rest of us we'll be there with you soon, then we'll all dance!
I am glad to find Steve Goodman fans out there!!! I was the only person I knew who bought his music in the 70s and now 24 years after his death he has legions of fans. Too bad they can't reissue his albums - or maybe they have and I just don't know???
@cliftongal51 I'm 34 and been listenin' to Steve since the day I was born. My grandmother was a die-hard Cubs fan and was singing a song of his the moment I was born. :-D I'm pretty sure it was "Lincoln Park Pirates" but I'm not certain. Growing up in Chicago with a family full of music nuts, it's hard to not know Steve Goodman....lol!
GOD BLESS STEVE! He truly was one of our national Treasures, and i miss him so much. How he sang"My Old Man" without crying,I'll never know!He could make you smile, laugh and cry at the same time!We will never see anyone like him ever again..
What concert is this? I'm trying to find it, since I remember he does My Old Man, I really want to see him sing that in a video, it used ot be on youtube.

Could you upload the previous song performed? (Probably "Banana republics", because he plays a piece of outro of it then says 'this is in G too')

Steve was inimitable. As a guitarist, lyricist, performer. It's so cool there's a medium for sharing his gift into the 21st century.
