  • Does this player plays pirated blu ray disc? Pls reply. Thanks

  • @smawla: Any question that is about piracy or pirated stuff wont be answered by me.

  • by the way, you said you got it for 3k, is it from a online retailer? can you hook me up!

  • @evilshreyas: It was coz of the combo deal retail price is Rs 6.5K, got it via Reliance Digital.... I guess if you purchase something over Rs 20K then this deal applies pls check with reliance for more info.

  • I need some help on deciding a new Blu-ray player for flatscreen. Ofcourse at the cheapest possible, My requirements are:

    .mkv files compatibility,

built in wifi or atleast a blu-ray that is wifi compatible and the dongles retailing for a cheap price, like sony has a dongle that costs over 4000, need a cheap solution.

and YouTube and Vimeo or the ones that offer maximum amount of 3rd party apps.

    hope you can help!

  • @evilshreyas: This model does support .mkv / avi / .dvix etc I tested it and it works great I am liking the unit also has DLNA support which Samsung like to call Allshare..... but the apps functionality is limited to only youtube and no built in WiFi support there is another model by Samsung but almost Rs 11-12K retail price that has support for apps like Samsung Smart TV's but no built in WiFi support, best to use a Wifi repeater for WiFi functionality coz built in Wifi will be expensive.

  • @geekyranjit thanks for the reply. but im not much into the technical stuff, so not got much of an idea about a wifi repeater exactly is. anyways, browsing through the internet, i found the BDP5200 by philips for 11grand on letsbuy.com, is it good and does it play .mkv files, should i go for it? i cant post the link of the blu-ray player, youtube isn't allowing me to, could you check and gimme some advice.

  • @evilshreyas: No idea about the Philips player but check out this Samsung model BD-D5500 more advance model that what I unboxed in this video has support for Samsung Apps will be approx to the pricing of philips.

  • it is a nice player by samsung

  • Ranjit, where have you been? You have been MIA for the past 2 weeks, kind of miss your video...LOL

  • @iamgangster: I did make a couple videos dude..... I think so only from 23 - 26 Jan I was missing :)

  • Great unboxing

  • waiting for your onkyo review boss... when you gonna do review on that, i would really like if you just go through connections or connectivity.

  • Also, can you show us how we can build some kind of an home entertainment network??? pls do.

    thanks in adv.

  • @bstolia: Sure great idea, I will try to make a video for the same soon.

  • Is it worth buying a Plasma anymore... not only technology wise but also power consumption and picture quality-wise???

  • @bstolia: PQ is very good with plasma but again there are quite a few big problems with Plasma.... the brightness is low compared to LED / LCD so if you are placing the TV in a bright lit room Plasma is not good and again the power consumption can be huge... also Plasma is not good for still images so not a good idea if u are hooking it up to your computer, I use my Plasma just for movies and I find the PQ better than LCD and I feel that plasma are a lot easier on the eyes compared to LCD.

  • lol in two videos ranjit specified that it s for his dad... and what? r u envious??? that ranjit can afford it and ur sorry ass cannot??

  • Do you buy all the stuff you review? Or do you buy and return it. Because how can you afford all this stuff every day?

  • @TheMightyHarihar: I do buy some stuff at times, but many times I get review units from the companies directly but this one as I mentioned in the vid was purchased for my dad, he is overhauling this A/V Media setup and I am help him in that.

  • @geekyranjit Could you do a video of your opinion of the gadgets at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. Supposedly next year phones will be totally waterproof, even when opened. I also heard OLED will start to hit the consumer market soon.

  • @TheMightyHarihar: Yep that water-proof phones were cool...... I guess by next year major manufactures will incorporate those features.... Yes biggest thing is OLED is becoming a reality but those 55" screens from LG / Samsung would be very expensive when launched rumors around $8000 range, but I guess by 2014 pricing should come down..... one thing for sure my next TV upgrade will be OLED may be I need to wait till 2015 for that.

  • @geekyranjit OLED has really taken its time to come out. I remember hearing about it around 2 years ago, and that's when LED went mainstream. I don't know why they like holding onto technology for so long, maybe its to milk us moneywise??

I think your right about it becoming a decent price by 2014, but by decent I still think it will be a good $1200-$1400, nothing in the average consumer price tbh, still high end.

  • @TheMightyHarihar: Actually the problem with OLED technology was the blue diode that used to burn out a lot quicker hence the life span of the OLED displays was not good its just that they have figured it out but as expected the TV that will come with OLED for the first 2 years will command a premium pricing.

I have a plasma & also a LCD I when watching movies etc I like to watch on the Plasma TV coz the better picture quality / contrast compared to LCD / LED TV.

  • @geekyranjit: What OLED TV promise is the better PQ even better than the Plasma TV's but at the same time the high brightness of the LED / LCD TV's IMHO the best of both the worlds and OLED's are also supposed to be very energy efficient not like Plasmas that are a energy hog.

  • @geekyranjit Right, I have a Led Tv right now, but my next screen would definitely be OLED. But as you said we will have to wait for that.
