I think you mean spurs. Rodeo does not allow sharp spurs. It is a dull rounded spur and has to comply with a specific swivel radius to lessen impact to the horse.

But that is not true because both of those are outlawed in PBR and PRCA. Bullriders only use them for grip. Additionally, a bulls hide is 7 times thicker than a humans. No bull has ever been punctured by a spur. They are examined by vets more often than any household pets. You also forget, you can't milk a bull. If bulls don't rodeo they get turned into hamburger.
