my brother in low gave me a cassette tape with side 2 of this concert for Christmas when I was only 10 years old and never heart of this before. well deep purple has been my # 1 band. what a great song! real classic rock. LONG LIVE DEEP PURPLE!!!

Blackmore got problems with some strings out of funed...

... and he doesn't get the real kick out of his gear (maybe there's another Marshall-top than that 200w he uses on the 'official' version)

And well, that solo is one of the best solos he ever played!

recuerdo cuando salio a la venta este disco de asetato era doble y toda la raza comentabamos que era lo mejor que el deep sacaba pero no era asi por los cambios que los musicos hicieron fueron epocas buenas

This isn't the MIJ Aug 16th take-- it's from the show the night before.

MIJ was put together from recordings of 3 shows (Aug 15 16 17, 1972). In the mid-90s all 3 shows were released as a boxset called "Live In Japan": It's everything (except the MIJ-released performances "Smoke on the Water" and "The Mule"), plus a few encores. It's MIJ, on steroids-- shows how DP changed things up every night. Essential!
