Gs500!!!! Cracking bike perfect for your first bike I've had no problems with mine :) and as it seems now you can wheelie them just what you news when your girlfriends stepdad is in the streetfighter stunt crew and just wheelies off when ever we ride out
Has it had dual disc brakes put on the front of the gs500? I can't get mine to stoppie hardly at all, maybe im just too chicket to pull the brake hard enough IDk.
@remotesunset Well, Like I said, I think I'm just to chicken to pull the brake hard enough. The breaks are definitely working correctly for the bike. They will stop on a dime (know this by deer jumping infront of me)
and thats the way it should be when you're driving in trafic, but just for fun and for knowing where the limit is, you should try braking to the max (braking till you're front starts losing grip, sliding) i'm from the netherlands and for our drivers test we need to practise braking as hard as possible.
because when you're braking in real live to prefent an accident you should also be able to brake on the limit and definitely not brake beyond that limit.
hey guys i am in desprit need of help. I have a gs500e that i think have a bad coil, the bike starts an runs fine i rode it for about a mile an one of the coils went out, after a few minites it starts up an run normal like nothin never happen
Moto zadbane przygotowane do sezonu, przebieg 18000 o czym świadczy też wygląd. Silnik chodzi bardzo czysto i równo. Świetny w prowadzeniu w mieście i trasie, wybacza wiele błędów. Polecam też do turystyki we dwoje (przy 110km/h w trasie ok 4,5l). Zainteresowanych zapraszam na GG:5033954 lub mail na konto youtube.
-sigh- my only beef is the reputation of the Honda/Suzuki dealer in my town is really bad. The Kawasaki guy has a good rep. and I don't know anything about the Yamaha dealer.
Every time I think of going Honda/Suzuki I get worried over the dealer's rep. I sometimes think if I do buy from them, I just won't deal with them afterward.
The GS500 is pretty much the best begginer bike there is. Its user friendly, easy to work on, and very forgiving in many ways.... The GS500 F is the ferring version (the one with the windscreen). Though i think i remember seeing a naked one with a little screen over the speedo and tachometer. (theres a lot of after market upgrades out there) Not sure about saddle bags made particularly for this bike but i know you can get some general fitting bags from any cycle gear shop.
Dude, 0:32 is WAY scarier than 0:55!! I've humped the handlebars a buncha times and the only time it was bad was when it made my dirtbike's front tire slide out, so I got thrown. But that was on dirt so it didn't hurt.
Also, I only have a 125cc. It's not powerful enough to wheelie without me moving around or whatever. I can't just pop it into second and hit full throttle or whatever. It would probably stall!
Also, why do people do this stuff to their bikes? Doesn't it cause damage to the engine? I was told to never buy a bike that has been stunted by its previous owner due to the tear on the engine. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong...
well the GS500 isnt a bike ment for stunting, hense why you need to buy a new rear sprocket to do a wheelie ( i have a GS500 and it takes alot to get the wheel up stock) but mose bigger bikes are built to handle it now because well... thats what people do with them, no one buys a CBR600RR or a GSX-R600 or 750 and doesnt stunt on them. its the fun of having a crotch rocket and the people who build them know that.
a gs 500 is a cheap bike without any vallue if u want to sell it so he probably thought wth, might aswell have some fun with it. a r1 stuntbike, i would never bike like in ur example
at 1:22 you can see the sprocket on the rear wheel is HUGE!! I have a stock GS500e and it will never and I do mean never pop up that easily. Someone told me to put a bigger sprocket on the rear wheel I forgot how many teeth, but it will provide a lot more low end torque if I did that. Good vid, these guys are really good.
great vid!!! how do u put renthals to the standard clip on bars and also what front sprocket and rear sprocket have you got on there? just sold my xjr400 and bought a mega cheap gs500 for fun and commuting, seems you can have fun on these bikes gr8 vid!!
from the looks of it no, hes probly got some aftermarket sprockets, a rear break on the handlebar, and probly a few engine/exhaust mods. i could be wrong tho....
i had trouble finding the crash bars for the GS500E but if your handy welding ect you can make youself your own (if you make them well sell them to mates ect :P) take it your changed the gearing then! im dropping a tooth on the front to a 15 could go to 14 but it pretty hairy and i need my top speed still for the road!
can anyone tell me what front light unit he is using on this bike?? is it a generic one from a shop or what?

@snooter28
are you able to block up the front wheel while driving in a straight line?
if not check you're brake pads or else you should check if there's no aire in you're brakelines (or let it be checked by an local bikeshop).
getting the rear wheel of the ground on a gs500 is not very hard, but don't over do it!
