a friend had a son, named him Jonathan, full of life and beauty, he wanted to fly, no, to soar higher and higher, he did and never came down again, he died seven days before his 18th bithday...................................sadness each time i hear the beauty of the music.......thank you neil
I have always been like JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL , searching for the truth, and I found GOD.Get the mesage from the movie or book, and maybe you will find the SUN GOD IF YOU MAY.
We are here on a mission on earth to learn, to evolve and vibrate love. Yes. we all are like test animals caged in a three dimensional planetary laboratory and, got stuck inside these bodies for a short life. Lucky you, if you get to die in early age.
I read the story book in 7th grade 1970, about Jonathan Livingston Seagull and it made a big impression on me, I never forgot. I don't really remember how the story went so I am going to have to go out and find the book, buy it, and read it again
i loved this album-movie for as long as i can remember...my dad loved it and i guess it rubbed off on me...it still lingers in my mind from time to time...
When my dad died we had to choose the songs for the ceremony and i instandly knew that this song had te be played for he loved it!
can i get a link where i will get to read all the morals or motivational thoughts that one collects while reading few i have my own few thoughts i want to read others
I did not realize how many fans there are. Thought I was alone in this. I first read Jonathan in a serialized form. It was in Soaring (S.S.A.)or The Wave magazine in 1967 or 1968. Would like to find the book again, and others. Love to read about flight and freedom.
Unless it's a juvenile trying to feed, the older more powerful gull will usually chase another away. It's a territorial thing, or showing the other gull whose the boss. Something like that. Always jostling.....
define the one you don't believe and you'll find that you are the 'not believed'... oneness is the key. be careful identifying the ego structure. There are many loops of deception... many spiritual traps.
don't believe if that's what you desire, but don't deny that this is GOD's living touching music and my friend I´m not a churchie extreme unconditional fan, but don´t deny that this is music from out of this world!!!!!!!!!
@bonnie43uk Maybe you just don't believe in religion, that's okay God is what he is regardless of what we conceive. for me... "I am" answers every question and fills every emptiness
i brought this when it first came out but like so many things in our life it was miss placed and forgotten. so to find it again on a random thought was a marvel, i have never forgotten how much it raised my soul when i heard it for the 1st time, and now again thank you
Thank you! Brings back very fond memories from when I was little listening to that album with my mom who is an incredible woman. Neil Diamond is also incredible. But the seagull is who taught us the most!! Thanks again!
An excellent piece of work Dennis, just beautiful. Could you do something like this with Jerry Goldstein's brilliant and evocative score from the movie Medicine Man? especially the "Trees" track.
Do you mean Jonathan? He is a black back seagull (Larus Marinus) The biggest seagull we have (in my country at any rate). If you stretch their wings, they would have a measurement of 1,70 meter in wingspan. That's almost 2 meters!!
You did such a good job with this. You always do such nice work on the videos. I think its a real talent you have. Cant wait for the grand canyon one.
Thanks Seed52, Jonathan Livingstone Seagull is one of my favorte books growing plus the awesome Music of Neil Diamond made it a fun photography project for me.
He is on a journey much like all of out experiences...revealing, sometimes frightening...but always a lesson in life and the building of our characters...revealing the person underneath the walls we all built up.

Ive got a seagull question for anyone who can answer...
Why is there always one grumpy seagull chasing the others around with its feathers all stuck up? There is always one.
Are some of them just born grumpy or if you killed the grumpy one would another seagull then take over and become the grumpy one?
Has anyone ever tried this?
