That's bullshit. Great bands like ELO would put on big fancy shows as well. On the other hand, bands like The Ramones and Sex Pistols who had very little talent (if any) were very no frills and bare bones but were so hard edge and shoved it up your ass with such vengeance that they were great as well. Having musical talent is only half the job. The bands who find the right angles and best way to sell themselves make it. Anybody who can't do that plays bars till the day they die, talented or not.

They've already been around for a long long time, and although their concert in 1996 (which I saw) was supposed to be their last ever make-up tour, here they are still doing it 12 years later... so I'd say the chances are good they'll still be at it in 2012.
