The gameplay in CnC 4 is really fast, and really innovative. This whole new idea of a base consisting of a single mobile unit is really great for fast-pacing the game, with an ever-shifting front. (yaderyaderyader, all in all, the new gameplay is a great idea)
They got rid of the walkers for a reason, (Commando walks up "Hey! Gotta toy for your leg!" blows up walker) I mean I like the Titan and all, but seriously, it's not that good if you just need det-packs

But this game dropped almost everything that was fun about playing the previous game, base building, resource gathering and management not only of the resources themselves but how that affected battle strategy, and replaced it with the Crawler system which frankly is not up to the quality we've come to expect from them. I'm still going to do a full play through, just for Kane though.

Population Cap is a good thing in my opinion. 100 Mammoths don't give a guaranteed win now. Yeah C&C4 is not that "bad" AT ALL. C&C series have been the same since 95, MCV - Refinery - Barracks so on... so a fresh change is always a good idea. I don't think it's as bad as people here say it .

even though basebuildings, scrin and harvesting is gone i infact enjoyed playing this. this has been so far the 1st ever C&C that im expert against players on MP. other C&C's had better campaign and story but the MP is fun but not 100% good cause of players now rush. its supposed to be as 'it takes losing all your buildings to be defeated' not losing harvesters. thats why harvesting in C&C 4 is gone so noobs can acturly play for a change without need to worry about a few attackbikes to kill you.
It's really sad about this game. Whilst the units may look wonky, I think had they kept the offline-aspect, without the dumbassed 'earn experience and have to be online 24/7 to play' and well, had they worked ont he story more and not had a limit cap on the units, think the game would've had a bit better reviews..as for the Tib gathering or base building, that's what the mod SDKs can bring back and the like, so nothing much there. But yeah =/ story and some features killed it before it started.

This game sucks. No tiberium. No bases. Unlockable units and experience? So low rank people would get owned by high rank people... this game was a failure. I gave mine back in. I mean, base building and harvesting was actually some of my favourite parts in C&C games. I loved to look at my huge base, knowing nobody could destroy it. But now, like wtf. Theres even classes, that means you can't use the whole range of the armies units + structures = fail.

Listen-I thought cnc was building units to take down an enemy you both had pros and cons, u just played some more to figure out which side u were more familiar/better with and which side u thought rocked more :). The new systems in RTS are great... but CnC via these system? A total NO!!! I do not like this game.. The harversters are gone ! which is pretty logical i think...
from what i've seen from trailers, the world in C&C4 is covered in tiberium,
which would not have "a lot" of space for a base or such,
I think they went with the crawlers,
so that it would fit the story of the earth being nearly unhabitable or something....

The only thing i have liked in any of the trailers has been the forgotten. But they aren't a faction so even that is pointless. Did they just hire a bunch of new people to come up with this game? Game series aren't about remakes they are about evolution... This thing is a horrifying abberant mutation that sickens the other members of its species to such an extent they would probably murder it at birth.

@MAlford65 yeah they screwed with DA cuz they were on the morality bandwagon (EVERY game in those couple years had some sort of decision system because everyone thought alternant ending was the buisness) but then they rebirthed the whole series! C&C should follow the eample

Y'know, I loved C&C 3 and C&C 3 Kane's Wrath SO MUCH.
When I first heard about C&C 4 coming out I was like OMFG YAY.
Bought it, got sooooooooo excited while installing it... then it turned out to be a piece of shite! MAJOR LETDOWN EA.

This game sucks. No tiberium. No bases. Unlockable units and experience? So low rank people would get owned by high rank people... this game was a failure. I gave mine back in. I mean, base building and harvesting was actually some of my favourite parts in C&C games. I loved to look at my huge base, knowing nobody could destroy it. But now, like wtf. Theres even classes, that means you can't use the whole range of the armies units + structures = fail.
Tsk tsk EA, I never expected this of you.

Wow..... i was so excited for CNC4 to come out and now im just in awe of how shitty this game is. Listen-I thought cnc was building units to take down an enemy you both had pros and cons, u just played some more to figure out which side u were more familiar/better with and which side u thought rocked more :). Not this bullshit flash game which i just saw in that video.-thank you and stop trying to ruin original games.

The new systems in RTS are great... but CnC via these system? A total NO!!! I do not like this game.. Not like it would be a bad game just... this isnt the CnC I loved so much :( The spirit of the game died totaly with CnC 4.. Even if there would be a CnC 5.. I would not buy it in fear of it, being as dum as this :(

don't get me wrong, this game rocks, it is a very good game, but it's NOT an RTS game. it looks like more of an RPG if you ask me.

@ironmadion55 For music and textures maybe. The graphics are very cartoony, and there are almost no buildings. There is also a build cap and almost NO tactics at all. Agreed that it is not an RTS (Real time Strategy).
