  • This proposition has nothing to do with Civil "rights".. it has to do with protecting the most fundamental structure of society. Comparing racial integration and gay marriage is like comparing apples to buses. Find a better comparison if you want to make a point that somehow, allowing the door to be wide open to any kind of "marriage" is in some way a "good idea".

  • Thanks for the comment, but I think you've missed the point of the entire video. Imagine what America would be like today if the question to integrate was put to the majority for a vote in the same was as Prop 8? It's clear to me that integration would not have passed the majority vote of 1950. Of course gay marriage and integration are not the same, but the premise of putting a peoples civil rights up to a vote is similar. Judicial judges protect the rights of the people. Let them do their job.
