@welshstreetfighter10 sure it can be. However we recommend you check out our vid on BodyBuilding Supplements for Teens as you may find it helpful. Feel free to send us questions after watching.
@mcvm1626 you can, the question is whether or not you need to. If you are getting enough calories in your diet to inhibit muscle breakdown you really don't need to. Hope this helps.
hi, at the moment i am taking O.N amino energy before my workout (4 scoops) and whey protein after my workout. would you recommend taking this product also or am i getting enough BCAA's with what im taking?
Do you recomend any good post workout drinks?Im taking goldstandard but i want to move to something with more carbs and high protein but less cholestral in it
@Palanakana8 if you are drinking a good complete post workout shake (fast absorbing carbs and protein rich in BCAAs) you really would not need to. Hope this helps.
@KebaabPizza Glenn is actually doing a 12 week physique transformation and posting videos/answering questions if you are interested. Glenn is very forthright in what he needs to do however it does not mean he is not very informed on supplements. Anyways we appreciate you watching.
Hey guys at the moment my current stack includes animal pak multivitamin, muscle pharm combat powder, and I take jacked pre workout. I'm on low carb but take in some simpler carbs do u think I could work this in with those ?
@notalexbohlman you could do that or since you are getting some beta alanine in a couple supplements but not quite enough to fully benefit so you could use a new product we received called Beta Peptide as you get a good dose of BCAAs (plus all 20 AAs in a di- and tri-peptide bonded form), 2g of beta alanine, and 3.5g of fruits and greens. So we are really high on that supplement right now plus it actually tastes good in spite of the fruits and greens. Hope this helps.
@PhagBucketLive that would be the main purpose of a BCAA supplement. Alternatively you could use a half scoop of whey as well and you'd get all 20 AAs. Hope this helps.
Hi guys, I already take a pre-workout and take my whey isolate 4 times a day (morning 1 scoop with 500ml milk, post workout 2 scoops + 500ml milk+ 3g creatine and at night with 2 eggs and 1L milk 1 scoop).
Was thinking of adding this & taking it during my workout. I'm bulking atm and will be cutting come end of February, you think I'd be good taking 2 scoops/1 serving during my workout (run a 5 day split) rather than 4 scoops like recommended? Since I take so much whey, milk and a pre workout?
@Roushrsh no you don't need it especially with all of the whey you are taking in. Even when you are cutting you can just use a small amount of whey in its place. Hope this helps.
@kattemissen not necessarily although we mix out powders in water. Most people who have issues w/ absorbing lactose are lacking in a healthy gut flora as microbes will digest lactose for you. Hope this helps.
@surf4life41 based on your goals, no as you will be eating enough carbs and fat to be burned for energy. Based on that there is no need to supplement with them as the mTOR pathway is being activated plenty to keep muscle from being broken down. Hope this helps.
@120CCr you can however we are not big on the nitric oxide boosting ingredients currently available as there is a lack of evidence demonstrating that any of them can increase Nitric Oxide levels. If you are taking a specific product w/ it and have a questions feel free to send them to us.
I'm just starting out, working out to lose weight, 19 pounds down in 3 weeks. Right now I'm taking LIPO 6 black and multivitamin. I'm switched to low carb diet less than 40 carbs a day. what do you recommend for recovery, when I wake up in the morning I'm sore.
@Rotorzilla well sounds like you are doing well w/ your weight loss goals. We recommend actually taking in some simple carbs w/ fast absorbing protein even if you are watching your carbs. This will help you build muscle which will lead to greater fat loss. Hope this helps,
@niclasc1 most likely assuming you are eating enough carbs and fat to be burned for energy. If so there is no need to supplement with them as the mTOR pathway is being activated plenty to keep muscle from being broken down.
So, is this a pre, during or post workout? I take pre-workout but nothing during n protein shake after workout. Can I take Xtend during workout? Even taking my pre-workout? Thanks guys!
@melocarina you can however it really would benefit you most if you were on a hypocaloric diet, it is used to prevent muscle breakdown due to low calories and ones desire to avoid extra calories as BCAAs on their own can not build muscle. Hope this helps.
im a vegetarian . i take a weight gainer and 5g creatine pre workout and whey + creatine post workout . what is the best time to take scivation xtend . do u think intra workout wud help ?
@krisy500 well for you being a vegetarian you can have them in between meals and/or pre-workout as the added BCAAs will help make up for the low amount in your diet. Also be sure to take them on an empty stomach as free form amino acids absorb best in that environment.
@sgtsnakepit not sure that we really went that crazy into the science. Bottom line is if you are not on a low calorie diet, are not a vegan or vegetarian you don't need to supplement extra BCAAs. Hope this helps.
Hi, I thinking about to take the following supplements: Optimum Opti-Men, SciVation Xtend, Optimum 100% whey, OxyElite Pro, MRM CLA 1250. I'm 23, 5 feet 4 inches, 220 pounds about 22% of fat. Are these supplements good? Should I take them as shown in the directions? Thanks
@cristovaodoj is your goal to lose BF? If so they look good, although we would replace the CLA w/ Omega 3s (we recommend Minami Nutrition). Also not sure you really need the BCAAs.
@cristovaodoj well as long as you eat less than you burn while still getting ~0.75-1g of protein per pound of body weight and train hard you will lose body fat.
I'm currently taking just ON GS whey protein, I only put in one scoop and drink about 25% pre and the rest post. Would xtend be a good product to replace my pre and use as intra as well? I'm just starting to get into supplements and asked a vitamin shoppe employee what he would recommend a beginner to use and said protein power and bcaa's.
So I was wondering if you guys could recommend what kind of supplements I should be taking?
@xSkyDiamond as we say in the video, the benefit of supplementing BCAAs in addition to your protein powder is really only beneficial to vegans/vegetarians and people on a hypocaloric diet. If you do not fall in either category save your money on the BCAAs. Hope this helps.
i'm new to supplements and full on training, but i'm starting new, should i take this before, after or during a work out, i'd rather just drink water during a work out, but if it you get the best results i'd do it then. I'm only wanting to put on muscle my weight is fine. Any info helpful thanks
@JamesEtc1264 well as discussed in the video, we would only recommend it if you are on a hypocaloric diet and/or are a vegan or vegetarian. Otherwise taking a good whey/casein will suffice, let us know if you have any other questions.
So Arginase Inhibitors have the affect of stoping the production of Urea correct. So Citrulline Malate wich is an arginase inhibitor may have the effect of slowing down Urea Correct?
@master9716 it can however its a matter of degree, you would have to take a ton for the effect to be noticed, so the amount in supplements does not approach these levels. But yes it can have such an effect, the human body is one where if you touch one thing, other things tend to be effected. Thanks for watching.
I've been taking this product while I work out and I like the affects and the fact that it has those BCAA's. I'm about to include the creatine based product Size On by gaspari into my workout. Size On is recomended to take durning workout also. Should I continue taking X-tend as i do and take Size On post or totally stop using X-tend?
@tHemPthreeZ well there really is not a need for both since both forms of Size On (Max Peformance and Pre-Contest) would serve the purpose of activating the mTOR pathway one via BCAAs and one with carbs. If you are not on a hypocaloric diet and you are taking in quality protein sources (whey, egg, casein, chicken, fish, etc...) then you really do not need to take in BCAAs.
@dviolillo you can however you can save money by taking creatine monohydrate, all of the research demonstrating the effectiveness of creatine has been done on creatine monohydrate.
Hey I'm already taking whey protein I was wondering if Xtend would be the best product for me regarding quick muscle recovery ? I'm reading a lot of good reviews about it.
@sbacolod14 the MuscleTech product does not disclose the amount of each amino acid, rather they use a proprietary blend. Also the cost per serving on MuscleTech is much higher as they pass the cost of their numerous ads onto the consumer, so if you are picking between the two we recommend Scivation.
@sbacolod14 no it cannot replace protein powder as it is only 3 of the 8 (or 9 depending upon the case) essential amino acids and is therefore rate limiting. In other words if just take BCAAs alone you cannot build muscle.
thought that this was all marketing and sh**, but i was wrong. Scivation Xtend works pretty well for me, whenever I workout or play basketball I drink this stuff and the next day I have less aches on my body and that is because of the glutamine content . So yes this stuff works! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Guys i bought my scivation extend online. Seals not broken, but when i open it the powder looks caked, coagulated flour like, like milk powder exposed to water and oxidized, isit the original form looks like this?
@DaSolidAce you can, it really depends upon the reset of your diet. If you are on a hypocaloric diet and want to stave off catabolism with taking in extra calories then it would be a good idea to add it.
hi just wanted to know when and how much should i take xtend. im currently taking ON Essential Amino pre-w/o and whey for post. should i have some mixed in with ON.EA for pre/during or should i take it during by itself and maybe post. thanks!
@beingfit7 that's fine however keep in mind if you are taking in a lot of calories you really don't need to take so much Xtend. As discussed in the video BCAAs really are most helpful when you are leaning out and trying to monitor calorie intake. Hope this helps.
@beingfit7 Ok well if you are vegan or vegetarian then you could benefit from the additional BCAAs.
