I had a 96 CBR 600 SE Smoking Joe's. They are a nice beginners bike. I sold it and now have my favorite bike. Kawasaki Ninja. 99 ZX9R Talk about pull.
i dont even live in portland. did it ever come to your mind that maybe honda came out with more than one f3 with that body kit on it??? everyone knows everything i know
@camaro35585 What body kit? I have the exact same bike. That is all stock from 1996. Good video though other than the camera. But yea I bet there is no 2nd gear left if you keep throwing wheelies like that.
the speedos become fairly inaccurate passed about 130ish actually, but consider this, modern 600's that are much more powerful, with much better aerodynamics only do around 160ish(thats actual speed not indicated), so anything near 150+ for a bike that old is impressive.
Modern 600's are really not that much more powerful. A buddy I ride with has an 05 R6 and I can keep up with him under hard acceleration and in the turns as well.
@jetstream01 Well, is your bike stock, does your friend weigh alot more than you, is his bike stock. because between the mid 90's and 2005 there is nearly a 15 horsepower difference too the ground, Sound impressive? probably not but a 15 horsepower difference is actualy quite huge when you concider it is in a 400 lb bike. It is an increase of 1 horsepower per every 26 lbs, of weight the bike has, not to mention most of the older bikes are a bit less aero dynamic, and heavier.
@PhilG88 No it isn't stock it has a pipe and a k&n filter on it and has been jetted. But the additional horsepower of a modern sportbike really only shows at top speed. My friend's R6 only slightly pulls me when we get above 140. Other than that, during acceleration and cornering I'm actually as fast or faster. Also, the R6's gear ratios are a lot closer together in the first 4 gears than the F2 so I don't have to shift as much.
@camaro35585 A speedometer isn't off by a specific number of mph. A speedometer on just about every vehicle is off by a percent. So if your motorcycle is off by 7 mph at 70mph (just an example), then it's off by 10 percent. This means when the speedometer says 170, you're actually going about 153mph. At 100mph, you're actually going 90mph.
i think your speedo may have said 173 but in all actuality once you take the 8-9% off for the inaccuracy of the speedo, really your only doin about 157 which depending on your body weight and the slope of the road that is possible but not 173
oh really, thats kool!but they told me it had gotten fixed a couple of times but they dnt know what the problem was cuz the owner is in jail ang his girl is selling it so ..u think ill have problems bro???
i paid 2200 the first of spring so 1800 id say is a good deal as long as it hasnt been beat on by the guy before. i bought my bike from a 35year old lady that said she never took it over 8000rpm
Worth every penny. mine had 28000 miles when i bought it and i put about 4500 miles on it during the summer between may and oct and never had a single problem with it. just had to put a chain on it. one of the easiest bikes i have ever had to work on. gets bout 50 miles a gallon with the gear ratio i have. tooth down in front and one up in back. great bike though.
Do people not read the reviews on these bikes?I have a 97 F3 and it will do over 160 mph but on a bike dont ya think thats enough?
