He carried his tribe to the end last season and he destroyed Boston rob in this one. Everyone knows Russells a good survivor, regardless of their strategy for the f2. Sure his social game sucks but hes not a joke.
He didn't "destroy" anyone. Boston Rob was voted out because Coach lives in fantasy land and Jerri was threatened by Rob's dominance. It had nothing to do with Russell. I'll admit that he uses idols aggressively, but I believe that the idol is a handicap. Can the man influence people without it?
And I also admit that Russell MAY win if he gets his act together and starts reading his tribemates better, but he won't. He's too self absorbed to. Like Narcissus.

How can you be a brilliant player if you don't play to win? What would be the point of it then? Committing "blindsides" aren't as impressive to me as actually winning. Maybe you feel differently.
Tyson's elimination was impressive, sure. So Russell does have some game skill. And finding idols is a useful skill as well, though I respect someone more if they play the game without relying on idols.
It's hard to gauge how good at the game Russell really is since he takes credit for
EVERYTHING that happens, even when he has no claim to it. Sure, he may give off the impression of being a mastermind(though to me, he's just more of an idiot savant sociopathic hick), but when you analyze all the episodes and all the player interviews, you discover that a lot of what he supposedly did were actually done by other people.
