Iceland was the first country to recognise Montenegro's independence. Given the way the UK has treated Iceland recently I have no doubt they will be first to regocnise ours!
Indeed I believe that the Icelandic President - Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson - made some comments in an interview to BBC Scotland about small countries and the economic situation, and that Iceland could be a model for Scotland to look out for. He also expressed his dismay that Iceland had been used by Unionist neds in an anti-independence way.
I bet Gordon Brown would have been so delighted at his intervention. Another few mobile phones smashed off some walls inside Downing Street I'd guess.
aye and bcnsco emailed the bbc to find out where it was broadcast - they said the politics show. Only a fraction of what was quoted in the article was on the program. Of course this was given next to NO coverage compared to unionist gloating over icelands situation: remember they broadcast broon ranting on reporting scotland. quislings the lot of them.
I can quite believe it. It is funny when the BBC worry about "impartiality" when it comes to broadcasting an emergency appeal for the DEC on their channels. But they don't even pretend to be "impartial" in other areas such as this.

Nice one!
I have a feeling wee Iceland might even climb out of the recession before the UK and it might be sending us more than woolies to help us cope.
