  • You are so pretty!

  • Thank you so much for the details and step-by-step. I have been looking for a good, easy to do way to try and i am so excited to try now that I have seen how you recommend! This will be my first time blowing out and straightening after a year and a half of being natural :)

  • just wanted to stop by and say I had no intentions of trying to blow dry and flat iron my hair but after watching this I was able to do so effortlessly... I can't believe how much my hair has grown even thought ive cut it many times... this journey can be discouraging at times but your videos are really helpful to a newbie like me..thanks!

  • Your hair is the bomb.com! You take really great care of your hair and it shows.

  • I don't know if you'll see this comment or not but before i say this i have biracial hair and i know different techniques work for different people but i was told by a hair dresser that putting heat protectant on right before flat ironing can cause "bubbles" in the hair shaft and can actually boil your hair...i used to do the same thing never had an issue but switching ot his advice i found that it turns out just as well, have u experimented w/ that?

  • ..Is that a jazzy james bond theme you got goin on in the bg?? o:

  • good job. i've been getting mine pro blown out. i think i will definitely try out this technique on my own. thanks!!

  • Excellent video. How long did it take you to get the comb chasing method down. I tried it once but was unsuccessful. Also, how long does it take to flat iron your whole head?

  • Your hair is gorgeous! Ive learned so much from you just now! Thanks alot! Can't wait to try this.

  • Your ends look sooo healthy!

  • did u experience any breakage or damage from all the heat?? did your curls revert back??

  • Wow I have learned so much through this video, because I have natural hair & try to use different processes on flat ironing it. I never tried the rat tail comb process. So I will try this soon!

  • Very pretty!

  • You are soooo inspiring to me. I try to follow everyone of your videos to monitor your progress. You are such an inspiration. Please keep up the great work. What products are you currently using? I know that the Giovanni Direct Leave in is a staple :)

  • i have this flat iron , the only bad things are the cloth falls off & its really not that good

  • HOW DOES THE TRESEMME FEEL ON YOUR HAIR BEFORE AND AFTER EACH STEP???

  • Great tutorial!! Question, does your hair always go back to its natural curl afterwards?

  • Thanx 4 the great tutorial! The back of my hair is extremely hard for me to flatiron out (stubborn curls lol) but I'm going to try ur tips and the tresemme heat tamer spray!

  • Thanks. Your hair is gorgeous. Thanks for the tip. The Tresemme heat tamer really works.

  • Please Help.... So I am about 2yrs natural and I have only been keeping my hair strighted and flat ironed I recently decided that I didn't want to get locks but I wanted to just do natural styles. Now I have alot of heat damage any tips to add in reverting my curl pattern and helping with the breakage? Thanks so much be blessed

  • I have a question for you.. I have been natural for 5 1/2 months and every time I flat iron my hair it holds a smoke smell. Temp too low it doesnt st8n and too high I smell LOL. I have tried hair fresheners and I hate the smell of those. Willing to try anything else though. I have really, REALLY kinky hair. I can blow dry it with out getting that smell its just the flat ironing. I have a grey Jibere tormaline series flat iron that I LOVE and bought 2 years ago.

  • Thanks. Good tutorial.

  • thick and gorgeouss

  • Nice

  • wow your hair looks wonderful....ive been following your videos ever since your twa lol keep up the good work!!!!

  • do u apply the heat protection to the whole head then flat iron or as u go?

  • Everytime I get a little frustrated with my curls and think of relaxing my hair I watch this video so inspiring and in maybe six months or so my hair should be this length which was the length of my hair b4 I went natural I'm 17 months post and two months and 1d days natural thanx for the inspiration

  • instead of using the blowdryer comb u could use the tension method to avoid breakage

  • This the BEST straightening tutorial on youtube!!!! Keep up the great work!

  • I wear my natural hair, and I've been so afraid to attmept flat ironing my hair. We seem to have simular textures....thanks for the video it was very helpful. : )

  • it is very helpful and clear vs a lot of the vids ive watched

  • Gorgeous hair darling!! Keep the wonderful vids coming!! Be blessed :)

  • You are one of my inspirations for going natural ande your tutorials are ALWAYS very helpful!! Oh and that song is so beautiful I downloaded it today and have had it on repeat since!!

  • this is the best demonstration ive seen on straighten natural hair

  • wow

  • it looks soo healthy

  • hello, I'm a newbee transitioner, hoping someone will answer my question. I've been seeing a lot of comments on here about the 4a and 4c and what not, I'm illiterate when it comes to learning about natural, so cud someone tell me how I can find out what mine is? or do I have to wait until I am completely natural to find out. Thanku...

  • I remember your "big chop" I cant believe how thick and long your hair is ...good job.

If I coud ever get the back of my hair to grow (and stop breaking) them maybe I"ll try it. You are some real motivation.

  • OMG you make this look so easy! I actually feel I can go flat iron my hair MYSELF! Something I have never done with all my years of having natural hair! :)

  • wow your hair has grown out nicely...i am due for a flat iron and a trim but i think im going to braind my hair up for the whole year. Trying to catch you up! :)

  • How often do you straighten it. Is it safe to straighten it once a month?

  • I am natural also, I have been for about 18 months and counting. My hair is at the middle of my back.

  • how often should you flat iron your natural hair to maintain healthy hair

  • Love this vid. Your hair looks better than a weave :))). Awesome!

  • The temperature settings are on the back of the handle. Thx for the vid.

  • Goodness Gracious your hair has grooooooooooooown!

  • how did you get your hair to be this thick ,full, shine and healthy what do you use.. please share :(

  • i followed this and my hair looked similar to yours but it blew up immediately after i went outside. :(

  • Did you notice a major change in your curl pattern after straightening?

  • ere you always natural or did you have a bc ?

  • @BabyLeoBaby she big chopped..just in case she doesn't see your comment lol

  • @3xquisit3 Okay; thank-you lol. quickest response i've gotten haha. I'm so ignorant when it comes to this natural hair stuff. I'm going off to college in August, I'm ready for a big change. I'm guna do it! But tell me, does BC mean cutting it boy short? How much would I have to cut??

  • @BabyLeoBaby You're welcome. BC means cutting off all the relaxed hair that's left on your head. Some people wait about a year to BC so that the new growth (natural hair) is at a length that they'd be comfortable with to wear out (that's the hair that's left). So depending on how comfortable you are with hair length, it doesn't matter how much you cut it just matters that you cut off all the perm :) A BC can also mean just a short cut but in her case she cut off the perm.

  • I love your hair. Its so thick, long, healthy and luxurious.

  • Your Hair look BeautifulI! I got that heat protectant too, gonna have to get a new blowdryer with a good comb attachment:)

  • Kerry, Are you still using the 25 setting on your flat iron? I want to do a blow out/flat iron, but have been kinda scared - lol! Great tutorial btw. Oh, and Happy New Year! :o)

  • Hi, you said that you had freshly washed and detangled your hair, did you blow dry it a little before you started the main process as your hair is not curly? Does your hair not curl when you wash it or when it is wet?

  • your natural texture is so pretty and looks healthy ,

  • gorgeous

  • I tried flat ironing my hair a couple of months ago. It didn't last at all. It would frizz almost immediately. So I would find myself flat ironing over again. I was very concerned about damaging my hair from the constant heat. How often do you flat iron your hair? I also want know what is a good temperature to set the iron on?

  • Ms. Kerry Baby...! Hair is absolutely stunning!

  • Check out my flat iron demonstration...

  • You are drop dead GORGEOUS!!! And your hair is amazing!!! You are just too blessed girl

  • hii loved the video also i would love it if u did a product review on what products u use to grow your hair out ssoooooo long i mean its wonderful!!!! i watched u when you had a twa and now i come back on youtube and see this i would really love it if you shared with us ur tips and products THANXz <3

  • i like it.. thanks for sharing....

Ur hair is healthy and full....

  • wow, your hair got really long.

  • @dazz9300 she really doesn't care if you unsubscribe

  • I refuse to subscribe to anyone who refuses to answer a simple question. Just click the comments and scroll down the names you will never see hers. No more virws from me.

  • She never responds so why bother commenting?

  • you have a good grade of hair and you know how to do your own hair! dhats good!

  • i love the fact that you can always have that processed look by flat ironing, then go right back to whatever other non-heated style you desire. I have one question though, if I dont want to do the big cut and simply transition, what do you suggest as hair styles?

  • @temptedtemptation there are some really good transitioning hair style videos on YT if you type it in; I actually watched a few recently! Easily maintainable styles you could use are braids and cornrows :)

  • Very pretty. You can tell your hair is healthy because even after flat ironing its very bouncy and shiny.

  • ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! I can't wait to try it!

  • Simply beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

  • Your videos are awesome! Thanks for sharing.

  • your hair is so beautiful. I love the hair color. May i ask if that is your natural hair color. if not what dye did you use?

  • im in love with your hair!

  • Gorgeous!

  • I have never understood why people would come on a video like this and "dislike" it...all she is doing is demonstrating a technique for straightening her hair. She's not making anyone else do it; it's simply her opinion on how it can be done! Anyway...nice video and nice hair growth lol! Peace and blessings :-)

  • @Ariad08 Honestly, this is just my opinion. But, usually those "Dislikes" are from hardcore naturals who don't agree with straightening afro-textured hair. I'm sort of becoming the type who is against straightening my natural hair altogether but I would never dislike a video like this. It's her hair----not ours.

  • what type of blow dryer is that?

  • @lilmissmia101 yellow bird...by conair I believe

  • Hey! Regarding your blow dryer, just look on the opposite side of the controls and it tells you where the controls should be for each setting. It's hard to see so you have to look very closely.

  • love you hair it looks jus like my best friends hair and she natural. now our hair is the same lenght and health but hers is a lil bit fuller

  • Could you please show a picture on how tight your curls are before you wrap it? I love the fullness you have. But I"m not sure how tight to roll it. THanks alot!

  • Does the flat iron leave a burned smell on your hair? Last time I tried flat ironing my natural hair it left it smelling really burned no matter what heat protectant I used.

  • @angelnoir9 Maybe the heat on your flat iron was too hot for your hair type. Maybe you did not use enough heat protectant, try using a good amount of heat protectant and using really small sections before flat ironing. Try roller setting your hair before flat ironing.

  • @seygra20 That could be it. I have really coarse, kinky hair so if I don't put the flat iron at a high temperature it won't really straighten my hair. But I was thinking of changing the heat protectant I use. I use either Frizz Ease, Chi, or Got 2b but I guess I need to switch now that my hair isn't relaxed anymore.

  • @angelnoir9 I would suggest using the IC Hair Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Serum. It helps to loosen the curl so that you don't have to use the blow dryer for as long or as hot, which, in turn, makes flat ironing much easier. Give it a try! :)

  • @jellysofa Thanks for the suggestion. I just bought IC a couple of days ago. I will use it soon and see how it works well and lasts. If it doesn't help, I'll just go to the hair salon to get my hair straightened.

  • Love your hair! What's your nightly routine for straight hair?

  • Seeing this video made me realize I made the right decision to BC! #TeamNatural

  • You have beautiful, really nice.

  • I remember when you did your bigchop...you came a long way. Hhg

  • When you wash your hair does it go back to its natural state?

  • Nice

  • OMG has your hair grown that much since 2008?! GREAT JOB!! Beautiful!!

  • You are really an inspiration! Your hair is gorgeous

  • I'm one year post BC and again, I'm inspired. You give me hope!

  • Your hair is just lovely, thick, long, shiny and beautiful!!!!

  • I love your hair! I'm natural as well, it been one year for me and I love my hair. However, I've been wearing a wig as a protective style because it's easier for me. Question...how often do you straighten your hair? Do you do it on a regular basis or just once in a while?

  • Well I think your hair just fabulous! You inspire me to continue being natural.

  • How did you keep your hair from reverting??? Your hair looks so healthy!

  • Your hair looks gorgeous!!!!

  • What mascara are you using in this video???

  • wow. i remember when u first showed your natural hair, i have not watched you in some time, but now i am back and i am proud of you. I need to give myself a hot oil treatment and start taking care of my natural hair

  • Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I stop by your channel often because you are so inspiring. You're simply stunning and your hair is just as beautiful as ever. Stay gorgeous and keep the vids coming.

  • Hey Kerry! I first want to say that I LOVE your channels. I was curious as to how you liked the new heat protectant in comparison to the old one. I am preparing to straighten my hair for the first time since going natural, and I am very interested in how to protect it as much as possible. Any advise you can give me is welcomed. Thanks!

  • What was the temperature setting on your flat iron?

  • Lol I like the James bond theme music in the back ground

  • So beautiful... I love your videos!!! I am 8 months post-bc and 12 months post-relaxer... & watching your videos inspire me to continue on my natural hair journey...THANKS!!! Keep doing what you do!

  • Your hair looks so beautiful and healthy! I've been natural for over a year, but I need to put some more love into it! lol

  • the last time I watched one of your videos you had a twa. Now you got hair down your back! Go head girl!!!

  • Your hair really has grown

  • my roots will get straight but about halfway down my hair is soooo frizzy!!!! what can i do?

  • @Kisstonc try use a little bit of straightening serum, like on by John Freida, before flat ironing or blowdrying

  • Wow!! Excellent video on natural hair and flatting it out.

  • I was just wondering if you've ever experienced fuzzy ends with blow drying or flat ironing. If so, what to you suggest. If not, do you know what might be the cause. Thanks in advance!!

  • Your hair has Grown so much since your last your last videos! Definitely a motivation for me and my hair.

  • does yr flat iron stay all week? do u flat iron weekly?

Been natural for 16mths - flat iron just wont work on my hair!! if it does it puffs up in 30 mins!! so i get a puffy blown out look instead of straight flat iron look - very strange, very annoying!

your hair looks softer though maybe thats why I'm 4a/b.....

  • @winiver77 hello, maybe it depends on your flat iron, I am an 4c and use cortex flat iron at 430 and I only pass it ontop one time, I found that got2b crazysleek flatiron&blowdry lotion works great! I got it at walgreens, $6.99. I was surprised b/c it isn't geared towards black hair, it states for coarse hair, and it worked on my 4c hair shockingly. at the ends I apply olive oil so it wont dry from heat.

  • I love love your hairr!!!

  • Love it and its so full of body!

  • Gorgeous huni!!! I've been natural a year and only flat iron the parts that i leave out of my sew-in. This video has helped me immensely!!! i was worried about losing my natural curl pattern, but when i wet it, it bounces right back. KUDOS

  • what temp was the flat iron on?

  • I love how this style came out!!! I recently purchased both the Heat Tamer and the Jilbere flat irons. Can't wait to try them :) I also adore how much of an F'ing lady you are and the curtsy smile at the end of your videos...lol Reminds me of a Betty Boop "Boop ba de doop"...lol Your hair looks amazing! Keep up the good work lady ;o)

  • its soooo pretty! ill be a year natural in december but i didnt do the big chop. ( i just trim untill all the permed is gone) But you inspire me to keep going! thanks :)

  • Thanks for the video...your ends turned out so smooth...not sure what I'm doing wrong but my ends never come out smooth...I even tried the chasing the comb w/the flat iron method. Any suggestions?

  • @mxc31 I have the same problem smh I thought I was the only one.

  • love it so healthy looking i'm about to flat iron my hair right now and i just needed some tips i have that same heat spray used it when i was relaxed i haven't flat ironed in months i just want to do a length check and a new look

  • I just had to write. You look awesome! I bet you cannot believe just how fast 2 years have flown by.

  • how did you get your ends smooth? my ends always end up very frizzy when i blowdry..

  • A+ grade. good job friend!

  • Im about 4 months in! I cant wait to see the growth. Your hair is gorgeous..thick and beautiful!!

  • Great job taking care of your hair! It is soooo gorgeous! Your videos are very informative and easy to follow! God bless you on your journey and thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for not making this video a vanity project like so many i see. Great tutorial!

  • your hair looks great! i cant wait to flat iron mine! ill make 2 years 14 days after my 21st bday (feb 1)

  • What shampoo do you use to wash your hair?

  • You and your hair are beautiful. Your nails are beautiful too :) You make the process look so easy. Sigh... Every time I've attempted, (or just thought about doing it), to blow out my hair, I just couldn't get past the coils and such. I'm sure it has to do with not having that comb attachment. Perhaps I'll give it a try again when I get one. Thank you for the video :) I originally found it on the ZB Ning site :D

  • Your hair is so beautiful

  • Gorgeous!

  • Beautify! (girl, do you got Indian in yo family????) LOL, sike, I'm just playing. I hate when people ask me that within the context of my hair texture and length :). Good job.

  • with straightening your hair do u lose your curl pattern or will it change it

  • Looking Good ! very good!

  • absolutely gorgeous and full!!!! <3 love your hair! love your patience and thanks for sharing, it is truly motivating!

  • Your hair turned out really nice! I have a question, why is it better to comb from the ends and then work your way up towards the root?

  • @QueenJenkins42 It detangles your hair without so much breakage.. if u comb from the root to the end, you r combing all your knot to the tip to where they become tangled...

  • @JusMuziq1 Ooooh! I see. Why thank you...

  • Love how your hair turned out. Congrats on two years natural!

  • Your hair turned out beautiful, thanks for sharing

  • that came out gorg

  • Fyi the temperature settings for your blowdryer is on the back behind the buttons. :)

  • So Kerry what is your thoughts on trying the Tresseme Heat Tamer Spray? Would you pick it over your Proclaim Glossing Polish Heat Protectant?

  • Gorgeous hair

  • Your hair has really grown

  • Simply bbbbeauutiful!
