The MSNBC crowd loves teabagging so much that I believe David Shyster teabags MANdow during MSNBC commercial breaks. Or maybe they both teabag each other? Who knows?
I was under the impression that the term "tea-bagger" was intended as the modern equivalent of those who protested during the Boston Tea Party - since loose tea isn't used much any more - with regard to protesting against an oppressive government in relation to taxes ("Taxed Enough Already").
Also, I was under the impression that it was Dr. Ron Paul and his followers who started this, which was then appropriated by the GOP as if it was their idea.
@DraganGlas True, tea-bagger which is a sexual term was supposed to refer to a modern day protester. I think they should stop calling themselves teabaggers and call themselves teapartiers instead. Second, yes Ron Paul did start the movement but was hijacked by the establishment GOP.
Hmmm... I don't know Rachel. I don't think they used the term for themselves, and you certainly offered no proof. When they started having "tea parties", and sending tea bags to congress, I think many people on the left spontaneously saw the....ahem... low hanging fruit... and started calling them 'teabaggers'.
Nope, they started it themselves. Teabag the White House! Teabag the Democrats! People were saying that on Fox News long before anyone on MSNBC began using the word.
stupid neo-cons for calling themselves teabaggers. stupid stupid stupid... uh, wait... maybe they knew what it was & this is just their veiled way of being a closet gay aka larry craig & that nazi guy in 'american beauty'
Lol. I became an athiest because I can't say I respect religious extremists, most of which are part of the right-wingers, or christianity. Additionally, christianity is just hateful. They hate gays, (And I mean, what the hell did hays do to them?!), they are against evolution, which is widely acknowlaged by scientists eveywhere, and they hate all other faiths. Indirectly. E.g. "My god is better than your god, worship my god now, you non-christian heathens." Also, our last TX pres. was christian.
If I have to hear one more ignorant Conservative say "I want my country back" I am going to gag. As soon as a Black man got in office I started hearing this Mantra. And they say it has nothing to do with rascism, yeah right! I am not on the left or Right so I feel my view on some not all Conservatives to be Objective. Don't even get me started on the fringe left, they are as bad as the fringe right. Where are my independent moderates at?
Lol, I became an athiest, mostly because religion is kinda exclusionary. Like,"Kill the infidels," or "My god is better than your god." Also, any faith that rejects science and evolution, (Not a theory, right wingers,) aren't being "faithful." They are being something else. It's called being a stubborn moron. The only faith I respect at the moment is Buddhaism, (I think that's how to spell it,) and that's because the acknowlage science. Thank you, buddhists.
The right wing is an endless source of hilarious irony. I'm pretty sure they will eventually create so much that a black hole of irony will open up and suck the entire world into it.
stupid ugly dyke, people attending tea parties never referred to themselves as "tea baggers"
The left wing kooks are the ones who started calling them "teabaggers" in order to demean and insult them because they have opposing views, and that's what the left is best at...resorting to insults and personal attacks when they can't debate intelligently
"resorting to insults and personal attacks when they can't debate intelligently" You mean like when you called her a "stupid ugly dyke"? Or does it not count when you do it?
Sometimes I guess you have to fight fire with fire. Doesn't make it right but it shows the level of frustration on the right that they are willing to engage in the leftist technique.
When you fight fire with fire the whole world burns. I am what many would define as being "left wing", but I don't use slurs to get my points across. Neither do any of my liberal, hippie friends. We all talk like adults, and expect those we talk with to do the same. When we are faced with insults and derogatory terms, we do not respond in turn.
Also, you really shouldn't paint with such a broad brush.
wtf?? "...resorting to insults and personal attacks when they can't debate intelligently " but you start your post with "stupid ugly dyke". tsk tsk...
Okay, maybe I missed something, but...have anyone's taxes actually been raised since Obama took office? has there been any change in the tax code? Or are these people simply manufacturing something to freak out about?
What's going to happen when the Bush tax cuts expire? Have you seen the estimates for Cap and Tax and ObamaCare? It's going to be impossible to pay for everything B-Rak wants to do without getting the money from somewhere. I supposed we can borrow more from China but they are lecturing US on our spending habits. The only other way the gov't gets money is through taxes.
As a person raised in an old con home. My later parents, G-d bless them, would see that behind this teabag is to the place of oppression the teabaggers claim they are fighting. Where was this group of "patriots" when the NeoConNazi regime moved on us all with the Patriot Act, and expanded executive and police powers? These shitbags were to be found, where? At their entertainment centers farting, cheering on the troops to the phantom wars, and praying for the chimp on Sunday. This nation is nuts.
You mean the Patriot Act that has been renewed and exted under B-Rak? And who is trying really, really hard to shut dissenting voices? You do remember the fish@ or whatever the addy was - the place that you could report "misinformation' that was being "spread?
Dominant emotion of conservatism is anger. For a modern neo-con they throw in blame as well. Conservatism used to be about self-responsibility, now its more about finding somebody else to blame, and 'libs' bit the bill.
@CrimeReport: Are all christians really this stupid, or is it just you? People like you make me fear for our country's future. It's people like you who burn abortion clinics, fight against science, and elect dumbasses such as Bush to government office. From a 14-year old athiest: shame on you.
