  • It's Pat!

  • In other words,,, the reason the Mayans, who ate Psychedelics, and were somewhat connected to the universe still went to war and had human sacrifices is because they had creative intelligence, but didn't have access to the years of accumulated human knowledge of creative thinking and what we have today. People have a much easier ability to connect deeper to the divine side of universe and tune in to the Cosmic Consciousness. The deeper you can go, the more you will see the truth of spirituality

  • The number of religions has to do with people connecting with the divine and not having enough complex information to connect at a deep enough level. Creativity is what makes a person take two seemingly different ideas and piece them together in a unique way. Those who have ADD and day dream a lot have a higher connection to the divine IMO. Those who know more about science, history, and about many topics can do more with creative thinking, and are more connected to the divine.

  • "Know God; Know Life: No God... No Life"... :)Peace

  • what does that mean man?

  • It's Pat! (Julia Sweeney). For some reason I can't find the SNL clips on youtube. Movie was disappointing.

  • She is so cute...lol

  • This cracked me up .."the no believing in god glasses" I did this myself i said just live one day as if there is no god ad i thought " omg what id he kills me for not believing or burns me in hell" and i thought about i like an abusive boyfriend who is going to kill you and torture you if you leave. im still haunted by those thoughts from time to time but it gets easier and at least im being honest

  • @krissy4nik You are not the only one. Christianity got off the ground by telling people that their abusive god will torture everyone in Hell forever and ever unless they believe in Jesus Christ and Christianity.

  • @EdM021 Yeah, Sky daddy if he exsisted would be kind of a child murdering asshole. Ive come to the conclusion that it'd be better to burn in hell than to serve a murderer just so that i dont incur his wrath. Plus how would I enjoy heaven if i knew people were being tortured below me? Anywho anyone questioning christianity or religion in general things are better on the otherside.

  • COnsidering how many religions there are. Pascal's wager is utter bs.

  • Howard's Wager:

There is God, and you believe in God: --> He sends you to Hell because he wants to test your faith.

If you do not beleive in God, he sends you to Heaven --> because he wants to win your faith.

Thus, it makes more sense to not believe in God.

Does this God's behavior make more sense? Yes. Think about who give you most pain? The ones you love! My girlfriend gave me lots of pain to test my loyalty :) My son gives me pain to verify my love :)

    God does the same :)

  • classic personification, maybe a mirror neuron thing, that so many people believe it's logical ("makes sense") to attribute human goals and values to god. Is god lonely or hungry or bored and therefore it 'makes sense' to draw people to heaven? One cannot claim to deduce anything when the precedents to the deduction are utter speculation

  • @Muuzip99 nicely done howard i love it

  • Poor Julia Sweeney, she educated herself into believing that her revelation was a hallucination. Without a consistent experience in the Spirit, it is possible to educate yourself into mentalist materialism, the religion of the upwardly mobile lost.

Jettison all religion & science. They are only man-made structures that attempt to house God, but instead imprison humans. Meet Messiah Yeshua, & U will know for yourself, & U will have no need for opinions, for U will know as U are known.

  • misunderstanding of the levels of scientific evidence and what they indeed do prove or dont prove to us is the root of this misunderstanding. its asinine to ignore the basic and medium rungs of science just because the theoretical ones sound too far out for you. Many people do confuse this in a consumerist scientific awe at all the egoist data we claim to have collected, but there are ungoing experiments in literal direct tests to the claims of most science.

  • yeah when you put the word belief in science yes it becomes a sort of religion, like creationism; but true science works with doubts and questions and how to solve them or how to probe or disprove hypothesis if you end up with more questions that means that you are moving forward, neither Newton nor Einstein were at all religious rather they just have been misquoted by religious people, after all if you face social crucifixion wouldn't you also say yes I believe?

  • Anybody knows the name of the Music?

  • I don't know the name of the song but the group is called Enigma.

  • @KEBokeh

    Rivers of Belief

  • @dirtyhyde8

I was wondering the same thing... I wonder what part of our brains is saying... this is good, by rewarding us with good feelings. Know what I mean?

    the brain is interesting :)

  • @ecstatica23 You should watch the series on YT called the Bomb in the Brain.

    watch?v=gbiq2-ukfhM

changed the way I see people.

  • @herpiethelovebug awesome thanks this looks interesting

  • pwned God in 4 min and change --- sick

  • spirits are mythological symbols of higher forms of energy that we can't fully understand. perhaps its because of our neurological state. Maybe evolution hasn't ended and we will evolve to undersand more and the body will follow on. this video is ignorant bullshit.

  • Ummm... You said "higher forms of energy that we can't fully understand" and you don't think that is ignorant? The definition of ignorant is: uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication

So, you readily admit to lacking knowledge, i.e. being ignorant. And then project this onto people who do actually know?

Study the science, learn it, understand it, and you won't be ignorant anymore. Its that simple, the difficult lies in letting go of your attachments to delusional beliefs.

  • Wow,

I had no idea Julia Sweeny was so smart. Very funny and knowledgeable.

  • Judge not, lest ye be judged....religious or not...I was raised a southern baptist, but I have chosen to not follow organized religion. What you believe is not what all believe...What do you believe?...It's ALL GOOD...

  • But what they fail to mention is that damage and shocks through the frontal lobe can also cause you to become a serial killer..

  • she is trying to be a comediant, prety anoying, good info anyway

  • Great post.

  • As long as you don't encounter religion, and it's consequences, there is no point in wasting time on it. Lucky you.

  • Why do we either have to choose a religion that's thousands of years old, or choose a wacky, modern cult, or say we believe there is NO God? What is wrong with continuing to seek the answers? I appreciate the viewpoints of Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris, and the people who are investigating this temporal lobe activity, but I don't reject the existence of God. I just don't think we've got it right yet, and seeking Him/Her is something we should constantly do without shame or conflict.
