  • the only subtitled game is my japanese coach.................that is so not fair~~de~geso!!

  • what do anime voice actors use language when they on air..is it kanji or katakana.???

  • what the hell why didnt you explain the other mini game?

  • She was doing 1st year kanji! YEAH!

  • Try the Kanji Wordsearch iPhone app! Fun, and it tracks your progress.

  • i might buy a ds now

  • the one I got doesn't seem to have any hirogana to tell me what the kanji are. Are there two versions of this game?

  • do u need to beable to speak full japanese to play this game

  • @UkumaOokami

doubt you need to speak it in order to read/write it. those are two different skills : /

  • @lunaseraph

i can read and write kana but wouldnt you need to know how to speak japanese if you want to know what the kanji mean without usind a kanji dictonary?

  • @UkumaOokami

it just takes lots of reading practice to get the hang of kanji and being able to recognize it. it helps to have a teacher or a fluent japanese speaker to explain the kanji's meaning, but reading is the best way. A change of a stroke can change the entire meaning, so be careful.

  • Before you buy this game, I think you have to buy My Japanese Coach to learn Hiragana and Katakana and how to say some basic words and sentences.

This game is in Hiragana and Katakana right and from that you learn Kanji?

And how do you pronounce the Kanji? Does the game tell you that??

  • 0:00 ~ 0:06 IT'S BRAIN AGE FOR KANJI !!!

  • this game is not going to teach you kanji. it will help you learn to make the lines and shape correctly but not the meaning the readings or anything like that.

  • Where can you buy it can you buy it at a Walmart

  • @ryanjb777

It's a Japanese game. You'd have to import it. My friend buys from NCSX all the time, but I haven't done much research on importing video games.

  • where can you get this, " Tadashii Kanji Kakitori-kun"!!!

  • @PinkSlipPROCTUCTIONS

get a r4 flash card and download from romulation(.com), the flas card is a card where you can put a microSD card (like the ones in the cellphones) the way to play all the DS games is: 1)get a flash card, (it includes a miniSDcard)2) download games from internet. 3)put the games in the microSD and then in the DS. Play! search for more tags like ''flashcards for DS'' or visit any R4 page.

  • does this work for Dsi as well as DS?

  • yes

  • yes!

  • does the game tell you the meaning of the kanji in hiragana? and does it teach you the readings for it?

  • oh this was indispensable for getting writing practice and stroke order right ★

  • Awesome! Does it tell you what the English translations would be?

  • No it is for Japanese pupils and they don't need a English translation.

  • if you want English translation I would do Kanji sono mama Jiten. The thing I don't like about it is that it'll pronounce the English word but It won't pronounce the Japanese word. Kanji Kakitori kun is suppose to be for elementary and middle school kids. I think it's an awesome game for learning stroke order.

  • have a dictionary at the ready ^^

  • i have this software, but the menues look slightly different. is it just a different version or a sequel or what?

    does anyone know?

  • ahh thanks! i already have 漢字そのまま DS楽引辞典, but i wanted to get this game as well. now i think i will!

  • how do you get the readings for the kanji?

  • wow, thanks for the overview, it really helped me! (by the way: nice strokes! ^^p)

  • So to use this software effectively, you really need to know the on- and kun-yomi through other methods? It's only a way to test your knowledge that you already have learned elsewhere rather than teach you the readings?

  • Hi i've just got this game and in the first section when you are practising how to write the kanji it doesn't tell you what it means or how to say it in hiragana, so how do you do the second section without looking it up all the time?

  • Where can I download this game please?

  • dose it have an option for left hand people ?

  • yes it does.

  • yes it does

  • how many kanji`s is in the game and does the stroke order you write it in matter?

  • around 1000 kanji character, but in order to master kanji you have to learn around 1954 character..whoow!

  • you're so good at this! I find the drills pretty difficult!

  • do i need a japanese Ds to play this?

  • no ^^ your DS is already japanese

  • I like this game, i play it often

  • i was just wondering if all the menu's are in japanese also or are they also in english?

  • wow i would like some thing like this ^-^

  • You need to work on how you pronounce the words. :)

  • do i see a pokemon leaf green sticking out of you DS Lite?

  • Nice post. I've used かきとりくん for the past year and it's by far the most enjoyable way to learn.

One more item that you didn't mention is that it also helps make your handwriting a lot neater over time (which I really needed help with!). My Japanese penpals have been very impressed with the game as well and its results. Highly recommended.

  • Hahaha.

"You pwned this Kanji, fear your mad skills, etc."

    I love it =]

  • yes i feel stupid dig me

  • this game is for learning kanji, but everything is written in kanji ?!?!?! i dont get it

  • yeah k nvm got it now

  • I think the instructions are written in hiragana.

  • there are kanji but the small hiragana are written above the kanji - so if you don't know the kanji you can work out what it means with the hiragana's pronunciation

  • Hey one question where did you get that game, and how much did it cost to you??

    Please answer.!!

  • You can buy it at play-asia(.)com

    It costs $35.

  • Is play-asia a really trustly place?

I mean if I order something, are they really going to send it to me.?

  • Yes. I've never ordered from there, but I know someone who has.

  • i buy from there all the time if there's things cheaper on there than from ebay. play-asia is trusted and when u get ur item, it comes with a $5 off coupon

  • im buying it now on youtube
