ok heres the situation, i live in a 4 story apartment building, and i live on the 1st floor. i have Clear high speed internet(apparently up to 6 mbps) but since its always signal that improves the internt, i have horrible in my apartment. im lucky to get 3 bars on my phone, and on the wireless router they provided me with, only gets 3-4 bars against the window. will this router help my connection? or i cant use it all?
I use the e3000 and every time some1 calls my house i loose all internet, its very frustrating . Yes i do have a wireless home phone. if some1 knows how to change that please help me out thanks
@iBAmplifyed There is two possibility. 1. You home phone is on the same wireless signal with your wireless router. This should not affect your ethernet line where they should still be connected to the internet. It should only affect those who is using wireless. The fix in this is change the channel to anyone other than the one that is setup. There is 11 channels.
@iBAmplifyed 2. If all internet is lost and the router box lights or either blinking or off. Then you may need to install that plug that came with your internet provider when you first install the router. It should be a phone line to a little box that has two female plug. Make sure you install that and that should fix that issue.
@skaterobban It's not a modem. it's a router. You would need to join a internet provided and they would provide the modem. You would then connect that to this router. Some provider would have a modem/router, but then again, you won't be reading this if you have that running already.
I have 2 computers, 2 laptops, a PS3, and an Xbox 360 all connected to the same router. Everything is connected wireless, except one of the computers and the Xbox. I have went through so many routers because every time i get on my xbox, no matter how many other things are on at the same time, i have a red connection and i lag so bad. Will this router increase my connection on the xbox when other people are on the computer?
i'm having a problem installing it..it always says that my comp (pc) cannot detect the router..same thing happens when I try to install it on my laptop..any1 can help me?..pls..
I don't have time to watch the video until I get back from work, but I'm wondering what the point of buying a 300 Mbps router is if Cox Internet will only let me buy Ultimate (Which is 50 Mbps)? I'm trying to understand this, but this is the first time I've ever thought about it. So if someone could give me a hand here, I'd really appreciate it.
@yutubemedia I'd love to find those providers... though as far as I know, 50 Mbps is the highest marketed consumer speed. What company offers more for an individual household?
Thanks! Great help...I purchased an Apple router believing it would be better (more $ must mean better performance, right?) Well, I was sure wrong. Should have just gone with this one.
does this support a lot of computers? usually i have 2 computers and an xbox going and my xbox always lags when 1 computer is on. i need a router that can support an xbox and computers.
@Streetpossey They are actually dead even almost, both have 2.4ghz and 5 ghz, and both have 300MBps, but since your wanting gaming, i would say the D link is better
@yutubemedia Dont be weried, its dual band so both 2.4 and 5 ghz and in one. so yes if you have only 2.4ghz it will still work and the 2.4 ghz band length.
wow u dint even setup anything at 2:57 and also do u unplug your ethernet port on your modem and put it into port#1 on your router and the blue ethernet port into modem and router
this router is way better than the one im using now which is the Belkin n+ router the Belkin n+ router sucks thats my opinion of the router im using right now i wish i had the
great review.. so for example i have a Clear usb internet stick if i get this router, can i hook up the clear usb stick to the back of the router and have wireless internet like that or not?
I've always pondered something about the Linksys wireless routers. Will the amount of ethernet ports available effect how many wireless slots there are? I have some wireless devices around the house, but some that I need ethernet for. Thanks!
@Wolfy9247 The amount of ethernet ports does not effect the amount of devices you can connect. The amount of devices connected effects the speed though. Any router can hold at least 40 devices at once. but your speed would be slow with that many
you do a great job of reveiwing this product, you choose your words very well and not a lot of "umms" really really great! thinkin about gettin this now
@NyczEdxP WEll not for the capabilities, I mean yes $180 is a lot of money, but not for a router of with these specs. You have to compare it pound for pound....(If that analogy made sense?)
@millionsofmyles You mean the speed test, because It was over wifi. Connect directly with a Ethernet cord they would be the same, but I was using wifi, and I bought a 5GHz Adapter
no, once we had dial up but our network providers were moving us to a slower deal without credit... it got down to 10 bytes per second!! omg that was slow
please note : 8 Mbps = 1 MBps small b for bits and big B for bytes

@SgtMeatCake No.

Just a note: That's not MEGABYTES per second on the download/upload speeds. That's MEGABITS.
For example: 1Gbps (gigabit per second) = 125MB/s (megabytes per second)
