U should have put the fan on the other side pulling air OUT....now what are you gonna do put your hard drive on top of the medal????don't you think that your hard drive will melt are get hot??? good try though....
cool i cut a hole on the other side and i put 2 fans there and then 2 fans in the back they both suck the air out and i used the ac/dc adapter to power which makes then go as twice as fast.
I abandoned this because I need better soldering skills and didn't want to ruin my 360 since the X-Clamp mod (shown) already allows my 360 to work perfectly without problems :).
And you should never have a fan that SUCKS air into your comp!
WHY! Well (fan-1) is going to suck that 'hot summer' 80 degrese heat into your console, and then (fan-2) is going to *TRY* and suck that heat back out.. not to mension the heat generated by the cpu itself.
THEN FAN-1 is going to suck the HOT air back in AGAIN!
(keeping you console at constant hot baking temperature)
chuck some pet hairs in front of (FAN-1) and they wont come out of (fan-2)
what a lot of bollocks the cpu fan in a pc blows cold air to the cpu the case fans draw cold air in and others placed in your case draw hot air out thats how the xbox 360 should have been designed
if i put a house fan by the back vent drawing air out of xbox will this help cool it? I just got xbox 1 day ago. Did microsoft ever fix overheat problem? Also is there a way to cool your 360 too much? Or should i just leave it alone?
thats stupid. of course hair won't go through it'll get stuck on shit. dummy. you must suck at building pc's. and if there was one fan hot 80 degree air would come in anyway cause the air needs to be replaced. dummy.
I actually took this out because I wanted to get any extra power from the 12V source around the Power Supply. I heard stealing power from chips on the board may not be a great idea. So I'll do it that way. I just need to do the wiring and I don't have a soldering iron.
I was able to get the other one replaced for this working one. Don't ask. Long story. So I have a working one but it can go at any second due to the poor 360 cooling.
i need to ask a very a important question. the wire for that fan, what is it plugged in to? cuz i need to do the same. mine's merged with the factory fans and i think they are distributing power. i think ur way is stronger. I know the negative is plugged into the memory card plate, but i need to know where u plugged ur positive.
Its to help close all the gaps from the fan to the heatsinks. The 360's fan shroud has too many holes not allowing for better cooling. When I do it this way, I can feel all the air being pulled into the GPU and CPU heatsink. As for the Cheez-It box itself, I needed a box so. Plus I love Cheez-Its :).
lol cheez its!

so i what position do you have to put the fans?
gaspar30 4 years ago
the thing on the cpu and gpu is a good idea so the fans at the back can suck the heat out the system better keeping the cpu and gpu cooler

good one. the thing on top of the GPU is a good idea, increases airflow onto the heatsink.

I removed the fan because I was having issues with it and its placement in the system.

My console still works great.
