Do you know a working wifi tethering app? I tried the 2.0.7 one from google-code but said working with error and then my wifi stopped working (I could not get my wifi @home). I had to factory wipe and reflash my rom. (I was on original, just restored the back up) and now at least wifi works again but I can't tether. I've tried on multiple devices with same results. Any way you can help please?

Android 2.2 FroYo has wireless tethering built-in. Go to Menu > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile AP and then check the Mobile AP box.  It'll set you up to allow up to 5 devices to use your phone as a hotspot. No need to root or download this app anymore.

Good News you no longer have to do this. Now you can go to your Wireless setting if you the 2.2 froyo and their will be a Mobile AP option. This is a mobile Airport that allows Wireless Tethering. Hope this helps.

Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant ( Bell Canada version, GT i9000) has mobile AP out of the box. 3 devices max. It might only be available with a data add-on like the 6GB one I got. Great for the lake. XD
