  • Very well done video. I completely agree with your thoughts on ECW and the evolution of wrestling over the years. Also agree with your thoughts in the IWC and what most of us would like to see.

On a side note I watch PWR all the time an enjoy the shows the produce. I get my news elsewhere but I do find them entertaining.

  • I hope it's not christian who's attack jeff hardy. I want him to stay away from edge.

  • probably one of my favorite videos of yours yet. i haven't been subscribed for very long but i'm definitly enjoying your thoughts.

  • the Tupelo Concession Stand in Tupelo, Mississippi, was pretty hardcore

  • Shane McMahon was a fucking crazy kid to do what he did at Backlash 2000 (I think) and Unforgiven 03, even if there was a cleverly disguised crash mat underneath you need to have some balls to do that

  • PWR is annoying me with the "Fuck YouTube" rants.

  • PWR is right this Truthslayer is in this for the money. Well I wont be clicking the ads for him.

  • why do you say that?

  • Hmm odd as the videos I talk about them on get less views than the videos I do where I don't.

  • How can I watch old NJPW

  • You;re on the internet ain't you? you blocking fairy boy.

  • Supernatural, and smallville is one of the tv shows that have good plot in my opinion

  • "The creepy uncle that nobody talks about."

    I love it.

  • anyone have a link to that guy taking the head shot he was talking about, i would like to see it.

  • insert Sabu vs Terry funk barb wire match.....here.

  • Yeah bottom line Coz is just too old school. Now as for that caller on PWR show(Rueben). You are a bumbling disgrace as a Canadian wrestling fan and as a Canadian. Getting into American politics and not paying attention to what going on in your own backyard. Also I think we all should start referring these "YouTube Shooters" as PRO WRESTLING OPINIONATORS

  • I will say in a truly honest statement...had i not accidentally bumped into ECW on that fatefull autumn night back in 1997 at 2am on WPXN-TV 31 NY, i would not be a wrestling fan today. I discovered ECW completely by accident and it completely re-kindled my love for wrestling. I'm pretty sure a lot of people out there have a similar experience

  • Eddie worked the croud amazinglu

  • I truly hope it is Christian that would be so great...

  • Masato Tanaka vs. Mike Awesome had sick chair shots

  • ECW had better wrestling back in the day compared to wcw and wwf

  • and wasn't ecw and wcw like the same thing too?

  • good video dude

  • Eddie Guerrero took a insanly hard chair shot from JBL at Judgement Day 2004. That was the sickest one i've ever seen.

  • Yeah I know what you mean. No selling period Hogan/warrior included is a totally seperate thing. The entire business itself isn't doing that, but fans by now do expect it from those people alone.

I think it comes from the world changing, and the business itself well TNA and WWE being so reluctant to change. Fans period want more brutal action. That's why MMA is becoming more popular. Also have to add the rep. of being "fake" into the mix.

  • MMA isn't taking off because of it being "brutal" or wanting to add to their "reps".

MMA, like boxing at it's height, is taking because of the suspense of a fight that can end at anytime, and the fact that there are so many good fighters, and so many good fights, for the fans to see.

It's the reason why 140-147 made so much money, in boxing this year. it's the reason why light heavyweight is UFC's marquee division.

Tons and TONS of talented guys to pair off against each other.

  • When you say talented you look at it more in a technical way. Actually respecting the fighter for his abilities in the circle instead of knockout's alone. Your far from a casual fan. Casual fan's love knockouts, but hate a good submission ending. And drawing in casual fans is what makes business boom, cause the loyal ones will always be there.

  • That still doesn't explain why lightweight to welterweight has been the place to find all the money in boxing for the last 3 years of so.

It doesn't explain why Oscar De La Hoya is the TOP draw in this age of boxing. And it doesn't explain why Floyd Mayweather, in one year, made more many than all of the heavyweight division, in on year.

Most people like seeing knockouts, and i can see most people enjoying a good submission ending.

People just can't stand boring fights.

  • Great video Truthslayer. Being from Louisiana I totally agree with the Mid-South comment.

  • Honestly about the Jeff thing I want it to be Matt. Just cause I think written well it could be great.

  • I don't think the over-the-top hardcore stuff is necessary right now due to how much the style of wrestling has evolved. With the high-impact style of suplex machines and x libre/division style wrestling, the matches are exciting enough. You don't need a flaming table if a guy like Kid Kash is in the match.

  • I don't like hardcore wrestling at all. The glass light bulbs, and things of that sort. It's really dumb and unnecessary. I think guys blading is dumb as well. I just don't go "OMG!" anymore when someone is bleeding.

  • Great video! good points and I like the Christian rumours I will still mark out for this even seeing it coming.

I'm thinking of getting a decent webcam so I can do what you do I just don't want to be neglecting people when I'm too busy to make vids. I've get MMA training five days a week plus regular workouts and I've got to make money so I don't know how frequent my videos would be.

  • Ring Of Honor is what ECW should have became...

  • They get paid to do what they do and are on ESPN Radio. I dont think they care how many views they get. What do you for a job? If you dont mind me asking.

  • i agree. Fans don't need excessive amount of violence. We need to be entertained like in the late 90s and early 2000s. Great storylines and wrestling are enough to satisfy most fans.

  • Very good and smart video. Keep up the good job! One of the few youtube critics that actually get the business

  • damn good video man.

i like watching the PWR guys but i usually don't like how keyfabe they are and i usually don't agree with most of what they say.

  • Mid-South! That is what I personally would love. Being from Shreveport, I'm a little partial but, THAT is what I wish was done today.

  • lances partner was jason knight

  • I think that ECW had its bad (and good) influences but WWF & WCW took alot of things too far during the Monday Night Wars. Remember that cage match between Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit? It was one of the most ridiculous matches I've ever seen. I'm surprised neither guy got killed.

It was the time period where all Wrestling companies tried to put on the most amazing visuals imaginable, & while it was exciting, things got pushed so far that fans almost became desensitized to it all.

  • terry funk took alot of chair shots in his time

  • I agree as far as ECW goes about it not ruining wrestling buisness plus you gotta realize that ECW wasnt always hardcore or extreme. It wasnt even called Extreme Championship Wrestling it was Eastern Championship Wrestling and alot of big names came through there anybody that doesnt know about original ECW look it up

  • videos wayyy to longggg

  • why did u downgrade ur web cam again?

  • I didn't it was to bright before.

  • Tiger Driver '91 is straight up insane. I don't know how people take that move.

  • I think some smark wrestling fans don't know what they want. I see people on message boards all the time say "I WANT THIS AND I WANT THAT" and when it happens they say "Well that was predictable". WWE should just do what they think is best for the company and not worry about if people knows what they are gonna do or not. Like when Trish came back I saw one poster on a message board call it so predictable because he read spoilers and it's like well if you want to be surprise then don't read it.

  • Well, the thing is that it is so predictable even without reading up on spoilers.

Look at Shawn Michaels laying down for JBL.

I mean I called that at the beginning of the show. When people know what is going to happen that early in the show, you do lose viewers and lose that "punch" you get when it happens.

  • Um no that segment was one of the highest rated segments in a long time. Was it predectiable yes. Did it work yes. just becouse something is predictable does not mean its a bad thing.

  • Well ,no matter,to me it was shit.

  • Alot of them smarks you refer to were the kiddies of the attitude era.

  • To me, Batista-Trips feud from 2005 is prime example of the point you can have great story-telling, without trying to fools the fans. Just give them what they want, and do so in a intelligent matter.

  • so why did you comment, he said to message him

  • Jason, if you read my comments, you might have noticed I left example questions of what NOT to ask.

I guess folks are giving me the thumbs down because I'm today's scapegoat. Bahhhhh! Bahhhhh!

  • Two vids in a row mentioning Masato Tanaka. The last vid made me go back and actually re-watch a Tanaka match, and it wound up being Awesome vs. Tanaka @ ONS.

    I love Masato Tanaka.

  • I think there is a difference between what is expected & what needs to happen, & sometimes bookers lose sight of that.

Now the Christian as Hardy's attacker thing does not absolutely need to happen. Fans are expecting it, but would it be terrible if they brought Christian in as a suspect & it really turned out to be Matt Hardy, would that be terrible? Not really.

  • But then there was the Sting/Hogan mess at Starrcade. Sting NEEDED to beat Hogan cleanly. It was expected, but it was also what had been building in the storyline and it was the major payoff that needed to take WCW into a new direction. Didn't happen. Instead they did the whole mess with Bret & the nonexistant fast count, and the whole thing was ruined.

  • No that wouldn't but they would need to build it up a bit. You know at least put that seed in your mind that maybe yes it was Matt just so you don't loose people.

  • same here on that Misawa and Kawada thing I remember seeing that as a kid like dear lord and he kicked out which made it even more crazy. Ok last comment I am commenting as I'm watching the video.

  • Christian York was Matthews partner that you was thinking of.

  • Thank you I can never revemeber his name.

  • He was good.

  • He needs to watch Glory by Honor 7 and the end of Steel Cage Warfare when the Briscoes no sell. The crowd goes totally apeshit.

  • You really need some medicine honey. :o

  • No the weather needs to make up its mind..It gets cold..Then hot..My sinuses drain..I couph...few days later the same thing happens all over again...

  • hmm...sounds familiar...

  • But thank you for the concern :)

  • FAIL!!
