One thing I've always wondered is why do most all bands sing in English if it's not their primary language? It is NOT a troll comment, just a question.
@Loz8900 I'm sure Celesty has got thousands of Finnish fans BUT there are also people from other countries who want to understand what this bands songs talk about. And that's not only with Celesty, most of the singers sing in English. And the ones that sing in their own language are mostly famous only in their own country.
@evolooshion If you read what I put I never say any thing against scremo/growling bands, I never say/said a word against them I just asked why bands with clearly sung vocals are not counted as metal.
And by the way two of my faviourite bands of all time are Wintersun and Amon Amarth :)

Why is that if a band doesn't have a singer who sounds like he's got a hang over, who isn't screaming in pain or have a guitar solo that lasts for 3minutes their not metal?
Metal is so much wider then what people give it credit for and it saddens me that people can't just accept that.

@anthoes1 That and it shouldn't matter about vocal completely, metal is often defined by heavier drumming and faster guitar, though there are many other things that define metal music. On top of that there are sub-genres so death metal is going to have more screaming than say nu metal or melodic metal.

@anthoes1 Because many people have been blinded by the commercial metals bands, just to name a few being slipknot or avenged sevenfold, so when people hear "metal" they think of those types of bands. Only a small majority of true metal fans know all the branches of metal, such as power metal. So when you see someone say this isnt metal, just laugh at their ignorance. :)
@anthoes1 What gets me even more than that is when people think Metal fans are ignorant, rude, obnoxious people who will beat you up. Everyone I know that like Metal are very nice people. Every Metal concert I went to, everyone is a brother or sister, no one is a stranger. You trip in a mosh pit and 2 or 3 people help pick you help.
Metal is a lot deeper than most people think it is.

@hewhodrums Yeah he's lost loads over the past couple of years - remember this was put up in 2009. So for all of you trolls who say how fat the singer is, you should instead be in awe of both his amazing success at losing so much weight and his freakin amazing singing - which is the thing that should count anyway as this is a BAND and not a group of models!

Why is that if a band doesn't have a singer who sounds like he's got a hang over, who isn't screaming in pain or have a guitar solo that lasts for 3minutes their not metal?
Metal is so much wider then what people give it credit for and it saddens me that people can't just accept that.

@anthoes1 That and it shouldn't matter about vocal completely, metal is often defined by heavier drumming and faster guitar, though there are many other things that define metal music. On top of that there are sub-genres so death metal is going to have more screaming than say nu metal or melodic metal.

@Kyumie The Ironic thing is I listen to Amon Amarth and Dragonforce >.< But I'm so pissed off at people just slagging off bands and calling them posers cause they're not afraid to show some variety and talent. So yes... lets enjoy the true talented metal :D

@anthoes1 Because many people have been blinded by the commercial metals bands, just to name a few being slipknot or avenged sevenfold, so when people hear "metal" they think of those types of bands. Only a small majority of true metal fans know all the branches of metal, such as power metal. So when you see someone say this isnt metal, just laugh at their ignorance. :)

@anthoes1 What gets me even more than that is when people think Metal fans are ignorant, rude, obnoxious people who will beat you up. Everyone I know that like Metal are very nice people. Every Metal concert I went to, everyone is a brother or sister, no one is a stranger. You trip in a mosh pit and 2 or 3 people help pick you help.
Metal is a lot deeper than most people think it is.
