@javedpsh Hello, sorry to hear of your pain. There's no way for us to diagnose your condition from the internet. You will need to see a specialist so they can help you figure out what is causing your pain. Thanks,
I have 9 herniated discs and have had them for 13 years and come to find out the CAUSE of my pain wasn't the discs..... it was ALL Artificial Sweeteners, Aspartame, Sucralose, Splenda, Fructose that was irritating my discs and causing the pain. Will that solve everyone's pain problems? I don't know. But stop drinking koolaid and soda and all diet drinks for about 2 weeks and see if your condition improves..... I feel like I have discovered the cure for the pain I was living with for 13 years.
@ThePowerWithinMe Great points. People need to wake up and realize what the put in to their body affects way more than just their weight. So glad you discovered this. Thanks for sharing!
I'm only 21 and my sciatica caused by a herniated disc is excruciating. I should be active and doing the physical activities I used to love and enjoy, but instead I am stuck in sedentary positions for most of the day because of the weakness in my leg. I feel very de-motivated to do everyday things and it is greatly affecting my life in all aspects. I've had this for about a year and was told surgery my be a necessity in the future if nothing improves. I hope this can be my alternative..
@cjmcallister89 hey i know what you are going through, i have the same thing being 16. ive almost had it for a year with not much improvement but hang in there...this time will pass!
I was sent to get an MRI and it turned out to be true,
my afected disks are L4 and L5.. My Dr said that before surgery they would try an injection to the afected disk's to try and help releas presure off the nerves,
Iv been told that sergery has to be the last thing on my mind,
@PANCHO686 Have you reviewed all of the treatment options we talk about on our websites, inversion therapy, muscle balance therapy, etc.. LoseTheBackPain . com
@PANCHO686 I have had a herniated disc at l4 and l5 for 6 years now. i did physical therapy, osteopathic manipulation, and lumbar injections. No matter what I do, nothing gets better, I do not do anything to put pressure and have edited my exercise and daily routines. And I had these for 3 years before any doctor would let me have any tests done like an MRi which proved that I wasn't an idiot. SO, I totally understand. I need help too!!
@PANCHO686 If you have been diagnosed with a ruptured disc, and/or laminar issues, the injections will not work. You should schedule a discectomy and laminectomy ASAP. It is an outpatient surgery. When you wake up in the recovery room, you won't believe how GOOD your back and leg feel. You will be able to walk out of the hospital, and within a few days (14 in my case) be riding a bike and feeling good. The first 5 days are uncomfortable for sleeping and moving about due the surgery.
I'm sorry but I am a huge follower of Dr. John Sarno's theory of "Tension Myoneural Syndrome" and can only conclude that these "nasty" abnormalities that come up on MRI's are IN MOST CASES not the cause of pain. Those "abnormalities" have been there for years most likely. Page 117 of Healing Back Pain, "In my experience, structural abnormalities of the spine rarely cause pain", such as herniations, bulges, stenosis, etc.
@krauty86 For some funny reason I can't post the website but type in google "tms wiki" then go to "an introduction to TMS" on the left hand side and watch the interview by 20/20 on Dr. Sarno. Back pain industry has grown to around 80 billion dollars a year when 30 years ago ulcers were the big issue. once it was discovered those were caused by stress, back pain exploded and ulcers died down. its easily CURABLE people, no silly prohibitions or silly excersises
@krauty86 Also look at all the success stories on the wiki. There are SO MANY syndroms blamed when the true cause is just mild oxygen deprivation of certain areas of the body caused by the autonomic nervous system in your subconsious minds. Read the reviews of his books "healing back pain" "the divided mind" and "the mind body prescription" on amazon almost 5 stars on all of them
A lot of "free" (generic) information from a start-up dot-com. You get what you pay for though...wait, it's free...has to be good...uh, no. How about asking your important questions to a doctor...isn't your health worth it? Oh, and I don't mean a pill-pushing MD. I like that this company is trying to empower people to fix the true problem (muscle imbalance and spinal alignment), I just don't like that they refer to people as customers and not patients...oh yeah, they aren't doctors...
What about spastic muscles stuck in a contracted state?
Do a search for Thomas Griner and then read his work on how spastic muscle or hypertonic muscle creates many, many problems in the body. You will find it under neurosoma. He developed a technique that he has practiced for over 40 years. There is science behind his work as opposed to most all others.
@Vidike, it all depends... you have to educate your self and understand the causes and how to address the most important issues, I suggest that you visit our sit and start by grabing a free copy of Jesse Cannone new book "The 7 Day Back Pain Cure"
To balance the thoracic spine you will need to assess both the lumbar and Cervical and work towards balancing them and as you balance those your Thoracic spine will correct its self... we call that process Muscle Balance Therapy...
@rfafsfsdfasdfsffsdfa it depends bench press is not that great for you anyway, you may want to experiment with more body weight exercises or light weight dumbells instead...
There are many myths about herniated discs and this is just one of them... another is that they don't or can't heal... BS... they can and do and research has proven it... but you MUST provide the right environment and raw materials necessary for healing to occur.

The only way to know is to seek proper medical attention and have them take some images of your spine taken.
