I wonder if hashbeen or bubbleman have thought about adding salt water to the water and ice, as it would dramatically lower the water temperature. It shouldn't affect the hash, since the salt would stay dissolved in the water.

Maybe it's worth a small trial run?

As explained in the video, as the trichromes get cold, the wax shell around them hardens. That's what allows this whole process to work.

So, as I would imagine the colder the water the better.

The salt would stay in solution in the water.

The trichromes are like salt grains in a bucket of salt water. You can still filter them out the same way you filter out sand in fresh water.

The only problems I saw had to do with materials, since salt water is more corrosive,

if the screens are metal.
