  • Drink ALL COFFEE!!!!

  • Extremely helpful Thanks!

  • I thank you especially for taking the time to partially roast each phase. Thanks again for posting. CNN just announced a rise in coffee prices...time to start growing...

  • The King of Thailand presented the hilltribes with agricultural alternatives to opium growing, including coffee plants. One indigenous tribe known as the Akha was the beneficiary of this scheme. A Canadian chose to back the Akha people 100% in this venture. Thanks to to his generosity in giving the growers a 50% share in the Canadian company, 'Fair Trade' has since evolved into 'Beyond Fair Trade'--a noteworthy business model to emulate in terms of sustainability and sound ethics-P. • Excellent explanation of the roasting process. I use a Westbend Poppery hot air popcorn popper and it does a wonderful job, and of coarse I only order my green coffee beans from SweetMarias. I love the Ethiopian wet process beans and the El Salvadorian varieties.

  • @tdjtx I use the WestBend Poppery too. I'm getting ready to try and automate the process with a microcontroller. We'll see how it goes.

  • @onjoFilms The Poppery works great for me, I only roast small batches. What's a microcontroller?

  • @tdjtx Basically it's a very small computer. I'm tired of having to watch and dump and refill the popper. I'm going to automate it.

  • @onjoFilms How do you cool the beans down? I made what's called a coffee cooler out of a 1 gal plastic bucket, a metal dog bowl and a small 12V car vacuum.

  • @tdjtx Manually I just toss them back and forth for a minute in a metal pan. Later I will add blowing air.

  • when you say 'air roasted', you mean such as frying pan?

  • @yt6 no - we mean air popcorn poppers like the west bend poppery, or home roasters like the freshroast or the hearthware i-roast

  • very helpful, awesome clear closeups much appreciated for us doing our home roasting. thanks!
