  • @allyballybabe I'm glad u recognize that it's just something different about yourself. It actually makes people better. One of my best friends is deaf and she is a lot nicer and smarter than the people who can hear and choose not to listen. It's only a disablitity if you choose for it to be, just like speech impediments and dyslexia. Disabilities are made by the people too lazy to work that extra bit more to succeed.

  • i cant hear anything

  • @jmurdahhhhh

ROFLMAO! That comment in itself is ironic as hell.

  • do you do requests? if so, i would really appreciate you doing (Or finding out for me who can, so i can ask them, i've looked but cant find it anywhere) The Rolling Stones - Satisfaction, or Old Time Rock n Roll. i LOVE your videos too :)

  • I just start to learn ASL recently, am hard of hearing. I can sign some simple words now. I joined a great deaf daing site, ----Deafornot dot c om----, and met some good deaf/HOH friends over there. They help me to learn ASL.

  • Your so amazing and pretty

  • I disagree Deaf is never a disability!

  • love it.

  • You are an amazing performer/interpreter!! Very clear, and I actually could not understand the words UNTIL I saw what you signed. I am hearing, and also an interpreter (30 years now). You inspire me. Thank you!!!

  • I LOVE YOU ALLY!!! my gf who has deaf parents is loving these vidoes

  • you're really good. i love seeing your videos... how is teaching??

  • You sign SO clearly :)

  • I've first noticed you on tv and wanted to see one of your videos. And since "ironic" is one of my favorite songs, I would check it out. And I must say that you did an amazing job. I hope to see more vids like this in the near future. You have an incredible talent.

  • Ally, I love your videos! Just watching your emotions makes me feel like I'm being communicated to in another world. Now I'm not deaf, but this is truely inspiring. I would love to communicate with my boyfriend this way, I feel it could take our communication and trust to a whole nother level, and really get us to pay attention to each other. If you could do one for our song Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean, that would be great! Also Heavy In Your Arms by Florence and the Machine? Thanks!

  • Ally, Public law 94-142 renamed IDEA and amended does classify deafness as a disability. I know where you're coming from about it not being a disability. My deaf aunt's and uncles all lead productive lives; the only thing they cannot do is hear, just like I King Jordan said years ago.

I hope to see you around at a deaf event in DFW one night. I'm taking ASL at TCC in Fort Worth.

  • I love your videos!!

Your expressions make all the difference

I teach preschool and was wondering if you have videos of you signing kid songs

There's definitely a market for that!!!

Even though many of my kids know Taylor Swift songs already, I would love to have videos of kiddie songs!

  • I saw your spot on ABC via Yahoo News and really thought it was cool. You do an excellent job song signing. I've only seen a small amount of song signing when I was taking classes in sign language and I saw examples of good and not so good. You're are excellent. Thanks for sharing your gifts.

  • Excellent, that was beautiful....Dancing with your hands.----------Sandra and Kathryn

  • Hey Congrats, I saw you on the news! I love your videos and I'm also getting a degree in signing! You inspire me, thank you very much. :)

  • Now the deaf can join the rest of us in discussing how the song is not at all ironic. I'm a fan :)

  • I saw you featured on ABC World News, and I thought it's great that you're helping deaf people to enjoy and understand how music can express emotion and connote feeling in the listener. I know that some people go deaf later in life and already know about music, but there are many who are born deaf, or become deaf at a very early age and don't remember music very well. Deafness is a disability that can be devastating. Hearing is an essential sense often taken for granted by many.

  • @cpp1 Thank you! However, Deafness is NOT a disability... it is simply what it is... Deafness. The Deaf Community has its' own culture and language and customs, etc, and is embraced as part of who Deaf people are. :) Not at all a disability!

  • @allyballybabe As an ASL interpreter and having a degree in Deaf Studies thank you for telling people this. Deafness is NOT devestating and not to be looked down upon. Thank you Ally for not forgetting that. You're great!

  • @allyballybabe my great grandmother, and my aunt are deaf. Im deaf in one ear. Sign language is big in my family, my grandmother was a sign language teacher and interpreter for many years. You sign beautifully, and I however did not see you on the ABC World News, but thats awesome that you were! Keep signing, its a wonderful thing!

  • @allyballybabe

Let me tell you I am a 'late deafened' person - and it is a disability to me! I've lived my entire life hearing and am having a horrid time adapting. I found I'm not at all naturally talented at ASL and have nobody to practice with when I took classes.

  • @allyballybabe I agree, no disability. An ability to express yourself accuratly. Just like the hearing do. Thanks for your songs. It is nice to see secular songs in ASL, as you must know a great deal of ASL music is religeous, so thanks.

  • @allyballybabe nice explanation. I have a friend thats been trying to explain it to QuicksilverdotFX maybe you can stop by his channel sometime and leave him a comment about the Deaf CULTURE and COMMUNITY or send him a video of yours :) i LOVE this video, btw.

  • @cpp1 Daaang...you re pretty igorant...im deaf and let me tell you honey, being deaf is NOT a devasting disability! now...let me tell you what is a REAL devasting disabilty- your stupidness :-/ But im sure you cant help it...its not your fault sweetie right?

  • @cpp1 Wow..im deaf and let me tell you, being deaf or becoming deaf is NOT a devasting disabilty! Now..let me tell you whats a TRULY devasting disabilty...you being so igorant and your stupidness :-/ but its ok..you cant help yourself anyways, poor thing :-(

  • @bellaqueen16 Ouch. Is that really necessary? It was good-natured, just a problem of terminology.

  • OMG thats so beautiful and amazing now i can learn how to sign this song thanks i'm gonna tell my friends

  • Niceeeee again :)

  • I saw you on channel 7 today your amazing god bless you

  • my teacher signed this to us! i love it :)

  • Loved it!

  • I have a lot of respect for you at the moment. No, i'm not deaf but i think its really nice you posting this video for everyone out there who is :) well done :D xx

  • I was thinking about signing this, too. Thank you for the 'ironic' sign!

  • do you think you could provide the ASL Gloss for this video? That would be awesome!

  • hey allyballybabe what was the real name of the sign you used for ironic?

  • I didn't know the sign for ironic until now, but it's a neat sign. It fits well with the song too.

  • love this song and video

  • I love your videos

  • Great thumb up! Thanks for asl this song! Keep it up! ;)

  • Are you mute?

  • Thanks so much for redoing this one, Ally. I would have also used the sign for "strange" and now I've learned a new sign. Thanks... you continue to be awesome and inspire me to continue learning and growing!!

  • Awesome!!!!

  • brilliant.. sic 'em bears!

  • this is just wonderful

  • haha thx for teach me new sign word for "ironic" and ur music sign is awesome...

  • The last sign u signed what is it?

  • Excellent! One of my fave songs & love ASL. I sign more "PSE" as an interpreter.

  • The lyrics in the song also talk about "Mr. Play it safe -afraid to fly"...

and that is ironic because the person who was the most cautious happened to be the victim of a plane crash.......while those who fly on a regular basis, not exercising caution, who would be most likely to suffer a plane crash....did not.

  • very well done overall. keep up the good work... just one tiny suggestion... you're timing could be a little bit better... other than that it was superb... mad props

  • Wow this is nice

  • :) it was awesome, but you accidentally said old woman hehe. Not old man.

  • do you think you could do a song by train

  • where did you learn sign language?

  • wow...so sweet...i think i know some sign language now; many thanks!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for the captions on the bottom of the screen. I can't do ASL but love to watch your videos.

  • normally i comment peoples videos for them being stupid people with no lives just being ridiculous and posting stupid stuff........however you're video is probably the best video i've seen in a while and this song also happens to be one of my favorites keep up the good work you rock!

  • I love it!! You're so cute!

  • I like the sign for the rain also. Such a great video. Subscribe! =)

  • i love it when your signing "rain" with the smile its like your dancing! haha :)

  • (y)

  • I love your facial expressions. Seeing these songs has made me want to go back to learning ASL. :)

  • Love your facial expressions for this song! As always, great job! :)

  • good job!

  • Great Job!

  • Greay job! ! ! you're amazing!

  • @ankarycuich: it means "like" or "the same as"

  • excelente video, sos muy expresiva.

    te felicito.

    besos

    Fernando Lopez

  • Your REALLY an amazing person, beautiful heart!

  • but it was really good :D:D:D:D

  • i dont want to sound mean or anything but you signed cigaratte wrong... you signed smoking instead

  • You understood the meaning, therefore it was correct. That's be beauty of sign, signs are visual representations of conceptual ideals, rather than written words. So long as the message is conveyed effectively, it is correct. If you understood it well enough to correct her on it, she was right in her signing.

  • what does it mean when you shake your hand and make the letter Y? (ex. 1:10)

  • "Like" as in "it's like rain"

  • coolness!

  • nice very nice i love it

  • Great Job!!!

I just liked the first one... but this is so amazing too!

    Really: congratulations! \o/

    Hugs!

    Kako.

  • I have watched a lot of your videos but not all. So far, this one impressed me the most. You seem to be a lot more expressive in this one, maybe because the slower pace gives you have more time?

Keep up the great work! You rock!

  • wow. Job well done. I would love to learn how to do that.

  • wow that was beautiful... ASL looks fun to learn... you should be featured

  • jajaj really nice videoo

    mabrook kteer habibty

    bausy / muahhh

  • u r da bom

  • only one word: W-O-W ! !

  • You have amazing facial expression in this! You really tell it like the story it is. Great job! 10/10!

  • oh, i didnt notice that the first time.. haha.

  • awesome! but in the begining you signed old women, not old man.. haha.

but very good! good facial expressions!

how do you know so much sign?

  • yessss.

if you notice, there is an annotation that pops up and says "sooo sorry, but i signed "old woman" instead of old man."

  • és hogy magyarként is képviseljem magam :):

ez állati jó. tényleg nagyon tetszik. több ilyen ember kéne, mint amilyen te vagy. :)

soha ne add fel, mert amit csinálsz nemcsak neked, hanem másoknak is örömet okoz. és ennél semmi sem fontosabb!

  • this is awesome! I really like it.

  • great this song is a evergreen !

  • I just like to say, I love all your videos. I sign, but haven't had any proper instruction on it. It's good to see someone else who cares about the deaf community.

  • I'm glad you interrepreted this song, I was listening to it the other day driving home, trying to figure out how I would sign it. I'm just getting into sign song & it's definitely not my strong point :) but I enjoy your videos. I'm a deaf studies major (still have a ways to go :) ) and I think videos like this help other people to realize how beautiful ASL is. thanks!

  • :D :) :P

  • hey, i know you probobly don't read all your comments, so i've posted on a couple of your videos hoping you'll catch one haha

but i was hoping you could check out some of the songs i've signed (on my profile obviously :]) and give some constructive critism... i no where nearly as good as you, but i'm working on it

  • hahaa.

yes, ive caught on to your comments. :)

i actually dont have a computer right now - using someone else's at the moment, but theres no time to view a vid.

send me a message in about a week and a half and i should have my computer back by then. :)

  • i loved your first ironic video, and i love this one too. i'm only in asl 2 right now, but i think they're really great. you're so talented.

  • this song makes me cry already, but watching the other video you did for the same song, and then watching this one, this one is definitely better. =) you are so expressice when you sign, it makes me cry more, and hard to sing when i watch it. i am not deaf, but kinda self teaching myself ASL until i can afford to go to college for interpreting... thankd for the amazing videos

  • I'm hard of hearing, and a BIG, BIG fan of Alanis! I love your video! You are really good at interpreting. You should really go into interpreting! I actually saw Alanis a few weeks ago on tour and signed to each and every one of her songs with an interpreter. It was an amazing night! Keep up the good work!

  • This video is amazing! I could understand alot of it because im just like u i have some deaf friends and i took some classes in school but im in middle school but they give the classes there if ya dont wanna take spanish. and its easier to communicate with my friends. i hope i can b as good as u. u rock!

    ♥Ali

  • Your video's are amazing. are you a CODA? Or did you just learn growing up?

  • neither, actually.

i dont have any Deaf family members..

i just had a few Deaf friends in middle school, took ASL in high school and went from there. :)

  • all of your videos are just fabulous!! I'm still learning sign but I'm planning on going to college for deaf education and I hope to be as good as you are someday.

but what was the last thing you signed right before finish when it says helping you out for the second time at the end??

  • thats awesome!

its definitely something that takes a lot of patience and hard work, but you can do it! :)

    i signed "HELP"

  • what's that sign you do that looks like a "d" hand shape, and you wiggle your index finger?

  • its like adding a question mark at the end..

for extra emphasis, though.. not used in every question. :)

  • ohhh lol thank you! I was really wondering about it, like "man .. what does it mean?" haha. I'm learning asl, and your videos are sooo amazing! I want to be as good as you someday =] I'm well on my way with your help :D

  • thanks so much, girl. :)

    you're too sweet!

  • well the first one was good this one is amazing! great job :)

  • hey i was just wondering at the if at the first it's supposed to say man? cause isn't mad from your head to your chest not your chin?

you are so amazing though. i watch one of your videos every night and learn so much more from you.

  • i sign "OLD MAN" not mad. :)

and MAN is from the forehead to the chest.

  • i didn't mean to type mad:) sorry haha

and yeah it's from the forehead to the chest, you did chin to chest..? am i wrong?

  • I'd always do it how she did in the video.

  • sorryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. :(

  • you are right.

    :(

    i am wrongggg.

  • nevermind.

i signed woman instead of man.

    my bad. :(

  • that's soo kewl that you signed this song again after finding out the new sign. way to be. and none of your videos are crappy, they all rock!

  • You improved on the last! Amazing! PS, the lyrics on the right did not show up. You might want to post this as a video response to the old if your keeping it up too.

  • yeah!! i had to re-put the lyrics up.

my comps being all weird. :\

how do i post as a response?

  • Awesome!
