  • Tetsu un mal día lo tiene cualquiera.

  • I am not so sure that hugo is stronger than Zangeif.

  • Somebody forgot to turn on the lights when these guys were playing.

  • Forget Honda/Sagat, THIS is the worst matchup in the game.

The only way for El to win is spend half the match desperately baiting and the only half desperately turtling with the smallest of life leads. Gief has too much heath and deals too much damage for El to do anything about.

Super needs to buff El's specials so that characters actually fear them and give him some decent pokes so he can create some space. Working twice as hard for half the reward is wearing thin.

  • @Wiseblade I actually see more videos and matches in person of Fuerte beating Gief, like 8 out of 10 times. And I'm talking some of the best Giefs even like Itsabashi. I think it's a 5-5 though. Fuerte can control spacing and has an advantage in the wake up guessing game. Only reason Zangief is even is because of his health and the insance damage he can do

  • Just because you have difficulty with this match up doesn't make it true for everyone else. It's widely regarded as 5 - 5, possibly even slightly in Fuerte's favour.

  • To be fair,I was kind of venting after getting particularly beat down by a Gief, but I stand by a lot of what I said. Fuerte can dominate the entire round and lose because he guess wrong once and ate ultra.

Gief's comeback potential, combined with his huge health and Fuerte's low damage potential make it hard to say that he has the advantage when it can turn sour so easily.

  • It's just a matter of learning the match up my friend :). Zangief has the fewest options out of any other character to escape Fuerte's mix up game. You only ever need to do 2 things; safe tortilla and j. fierce. Safe tortilla beats literally everything except jumps and backdashes, while j. fierce beats said jumps and backdashes.

From there you can punish with RSF for huge damage then run away for the rest of the game, he can't catch you. Also Quesadilla Bomb is really strong vs. Gief.

  • FINAL ATOMIC BUSTAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Duke responded pretty well to those habanero dash/back dash launchers

Pity Tetsu did'nt try a few habanero > sudden stop > guacamole leg throw, to punish Duke's neutral jumps.

  • nice comeback in round 1

  • if u call that a comeback ur fuckin an idiot this ame is soo uneven its stupid like ur face

  • always nice to see a ultimate atomic buster, or whatever its called, finish.

  • He was trying to out WRESTLE Zangief?

Great play by both players, Gief is just to hard hitting.

  • My thought on this is that if fuerte can get ahead in life he should play keep away from geif unless he definitely know he can make contact. Thats the strategy seths use. It does make for a boring match though.

  • What a comeback.

  • tetsu had that first round. :(

  • Holy crap Zangief perfect'd his ass.

  • I know.. sucks :T

Tetsu is freakin' beast with ELF too man T_T

  • man thats crazy the combo tetsu did starting at 0:14 WOW. im trying to get good wit el fuerte but man hes so weak, i die after 8 good hits

  • anyone think that gief vs el Fuerte is a bit of a miss match in giefs favor?

  • It can be...

Once Fuerte gets a knock down, it can be tough for the Gief to guess what Fuerte will do on his mix ups.

However, if Gief guesses right...it could lead to big damage.

  • hmmm. i just thought because its the meatiest fighter vs the skinniest and that they are both grapplers and i thought gief would have the edge in a close throw game.

don't know why i got thumbs down i was only asking a question and Fuerte is my favorite character

  • If it's close range against ANY character, Zangief will win. That's where he does his most damage.

Fuerte has the advantage once he knocks down Gief, as you can see in the first part of the first round.

  • yeah your right.

Its seems gief can really penalize fuerte if he misses with his dive bomb moves.

  • the first round reminded me of why i get depressed playing as Fuerte. Pull off 20 awesome hits and the opponent is still alive, get hit 4 times and youre dead : (

  • I play sim so I can sympathize

  • @panamcspana Akuma says Hi.

  • OWNED.

  • fuerte needs 2 eat some damn weaties! He is trying WAY too hard!Q

  • this is a really good match because Zangief and El Fuerte are grapplers and zangeif deals out more damage than el fuerte so....gotta be careful...

  • Depends how you look at it, really. Gief pulls out more damage 'if he hits'. It's why these two are eachothers Rival, the super quick, small wrestler versus the massive powerhouse Wrestler.

This is the second match I've seen with both characters fighting, the first went to ElFuerte who kept zipping around grinding Gief down pretty easy. Seems he didn't move enough in this one, eating Gief power moves ;)

Great characters to see in a fight.

  • Oh shit nice zangief!

Though tetsu isnt a pushover either if u seen his other matches

  • Nice comeback from the gief player!

  • thought that tetsu would win the first round and take the second as well, but totally lost this one
